Hey guys. I have been looking for some good software for weeks now and have been unable to find one that I really like. So I figure that I might as well post up here since this is where I get all of my other information regarding my phone.
So this is what I am looking for:
I am looking for some type of CRM or Customer relationship management software for the Pocket PC. For those who dont know, this is essentially a piece of software that allows you to record customers, sales, phone calls made and received from customers, interest of customers, and personal information. It is primarily used to keep track of customers, leads and sales.
Ideally I would like some software that can be used on both regular windows as well as Pocket PC Windows. Meaning I can update or add customer information on either my laptop or my PPC and the 2 devices will synchronize and maintain the same information. However if that is not possible, something that just works on the PPC only is just fine. I really need it to be able to store customers, categorize them by where they came from I.E. who referred them, update contact information such as phone calls made and received as well as appointments set, and indicate when the customer has been sold or is no longer in the market or a hot prospect.
.
If anyone could recommend a CRM software for the pocket pc that is primarily sales based, it would be GREATLY appreciated. I really need to get something as the old pen and pad mentality is not quite as efficient as I would like and I figure its time to finally step into the new millennium with my sales tracking.
Thanks a lot for all of the help guys! Btw, I dont mind paying for good software, I just need it to work well. Something that is easy to use and makes it easy to update customer information especially including calls made to them and the status of their sales deal. Thx.

Anyone got any ideas on this one?

It'd be pretty rudementry, but might work. I know with the task manager, you can set a task, and then throw notes into it. You can then also set custom priority levels. Might be able to use this to your advantage. Use the priority levels to rank the lead (cold, warm, hot, wtf why isn't this closed yet, etc etc), notes for who refered them, and once you close the deal, you can check it off your list as completed.
Just my $.02.
Edit: Goes to show what happens when you leap before you look. You CAN set priorty levels to low, normal, and high, and then can set custom categories to help you sort them by. Good luck!
Thanks for the help, however I tried this initially and it doesnt work well enough for me. It works in a rudimentary manner, but I need more control and information managment than that. Thanks tho!
Anyone else got any ideas?

My company uses this piece of software; http://www.salesmanager.nl/nl/salesmanagermobile.htm
Its in Dutch and I dont know if there's an English version..
I found this (outdated) article about "Microsoft CRM Mobile"; http://www.sonomapartners.com/articles/microsoft-crm-mobile12.aspx
And this is a download link "Microsoft Dynamics CRM Mobile"; http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...66-7EC8-4AFE-BBFA-91E7210C55C4&displaylang=en
You do need the MS Dynamics package to make it work tho..
You can also look for "Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Small Business Edition"..
You can get a demo which is floating around Microsoft's website.

Thanks

hello xda-dev community!
first of all... this is the one of the most amazing communities i have ever seen! this site and its members helped solving a lot of my problems and improved my mobile experience. thx!
as a business administration student in german i am actually writing my thesis about community based innovations
i asked my prof if i can bring in a practical example on how innovations and product improvements were created by community members and i want to use the xda community as a "real life example" how to generate product innovations for needs of consumers which were not recognized by manufacturers in a "co-creative innovation process"... means that i really would like get your ideas on this subject!
Subject: Transmitting your GPS-coordinates via SMS - to contacts & added functions like displaying your location and creating routes on maps
there is no "commercial" software solution for this... please correct me if im wrong.
please let me know ur ideas and questions...
also there is no phone that (by default) can send your GPS coordinates as sms combined with more useful information like showing your location and the given location on the map and creating routes, showing the distance in km/miles... please add more functions YOU are missing. all im writing is just theory and i dont know if it all options are possible...
i can think of options like
- sending the coordinates in certain periods e.g every 5/20/40... minutes. interesting for hikers and let people know where you are...in case of accidents.
- this "product" can be interesting for parents.
- could this solution "imitate" navigation with static maps without standard navigation software. is there a way of synchronizing to "locations" so that each party is updated in intervals ?
- ... ?
these are the current GPS apps for reading / sending coordinates:
- LocationSMS presented @ xda by user AX3L ...works and is very simply... but just sending coordinates nothing else.
- GPS Tracking - CodeProject
...havent tested yet...sounds good!
- GPSbySMS - looks good but created an error during install. but the description says that it can display the location on maps
examples of use - add more if u like
a) you are new in town and want to meet up with a friend... but at least one of you doesnt know the place. both use a gps phone (a-gps/gps) but havent installed any navigation software like tomtom.
b) your friends already met and you are too late... they call you and try to describe their location by telling you street names / places that none of you know...
c) your wife/son/daughter is out and wants you to pick him/her up...
d) you go hiking and want to send your location as a precaution...
e) forwarding several locations to groups...
Do you think this would be interesting for YOU ?! Have you ever looked for such a function ?
EDIT: of course i need some basic facts about the community itself e.g. founders, vision, dates, members (admins, mods, senior members ?...), # threads, # of downloads .... who are the xda-dev "founders" ?
...i guess it was too much...
where are the GPS experts?
first off, good luck with your study.
secondly, i am not really sure what kind of feed back you want. i like the idea, but google has the latitude function that does something similar to what you are doing.
finally, especially in the case of a hiker, power consumption can be an issue, where a hiker would prefer to keep power to make an emergency phone call rather than continuously running the gps and eating power that will be needed later if an accident happens.
i hope what i said was something you were looking for, once more good luck
thanks a lot!
mainly i want to get ur ideas on this function to see if is useful for the majority of mobile users who have GPS but use it just for "classic" navigation...
i havent checked google latitude? is it a WM application or just a google service?
hiking is just one example... the emergency call doesnt tell authorities your exact location... means they have to locate your mobile.
is there a gps forum @ xda where i can get more feedback about this? hoped that more people would be interested in this function =(
Where can i get background infos on the xda site itself? see the edit above (in red)

google maps latitude is for windows mobile. another application that does location sharing is mologogo, i have used it, and it is very good.
in the hiking situation, i was just saying that continuously sharing your location might drain the battery, and if an emergency situation happens, you won't have a phone to call for help.
there is no dedicated GPS forum in xda, each device has its own forum, and there gps issues specific to the device are discussed. the development and hacking forum has many general gps programs.
here is some info on xda-devs, from wikipedia, i don't know about other sources:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xda-developers
the main page has some info as well:
http://www.xda-developers.com/
Great initiative.
I´ve been looking into this for quite some time. Two or three apps you would like to add to the list is:
- LocateMe http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/...-third-party-with-windows-mobile-gps-devices/
(is a trialware, 10 US bucks for a nag free license)
- RunGPS.net
More than just a send gps by sms but still usable.
- Trackme
Not as easy to use as locateme but with really nice options: http://luisespinosa.com/trackme_eng.html
It seems that the community is not so keen to develop such a tool.
I am looking for long time for a tool to send GPS-Position via SMS. I tried GPS Tracker by Phonekai and GPS Location and investigated some others. Unfortunatelly every tool is missing some essential features.
The first feature is the format of the position data. I would like to choose the position format. E.g. GPS Location uses strictly dd,dddd. I would like to use the well known geocaching format dd mm,mmm.
Further it is important to have a link to navigation software on the ppc. There should be a parser to search incoming SMS for geocoordinates and automatically convert to waypoints in OziExplorer (.wpt) or TomTom POI (.ov2) and to show these on the map.
Can someone recommend a GPS-exchange software via SMS with Ozi and/or TomTom interface ???
Regards,
Oli
@olih
nothing useful in all the apps we posted ? have u tried GLOPUS ?
Hey guys,
Wanted to show you a application i have been developing for the last few months.
Do you ever sit in a endless phone tree wondering if you'll ever get to talk to a human?
Dialfaster gives you the information you need to bypass phone trees.
Two applications exist on the marketplace UK and US Versions.
In the UK we have 700 phone numbers plus dialing shortcuts.
In the US we have 500 phone numbers plus dialing shortcuts.
Features Include:
Save phone numbers you use regularly as a favourite.
Call-Log logs all your calls made to companies, so you can keep a record of contacting them.
Quickly search through all companies to find the one you need.
Updates regularly, so you always have the most recent dialfaster database.
View more info at dialfaster.com/app/
Sorry but i am still unable to post links
Just search for "dialfaster" in the marketplace
I am guessing since the list comes from a thirdparty, it would be futile to ask for a Belgian version?
I could really use this for work =P
Hey,
Thanks for your reply, this info doesn't come from a 3rd party, I have been working on the database for about a year now.
We have a website as-well @ dialfaster.com which does the same thing but is desktop.
The information for the UK has taken me along time to build up, calling companies throughout the day, and trying to work out the quickest way to reach a human.
Sorry but at present, we don't offer a Belgian version, currently working on iPhone, and moving over to other countries, so we might be doing European countries some time in the near future, but thanks for your interest.

Alright, Thanks for your reply.
I will point people I know online to that app.
In IT and most other Office work its a big hassle to go through the IVR menus all the time.
VoIP Phone System is one of the most widely used Avaya phone by most businesses to be able to contact people and businesses from different sides of the world in the most economical way. And since this phone system runs through the Internet, you don’t need any phone cable lines to get this working.
I'm new to Android development, mainly because I've been trying to find a small enough project that was reasonable to bite off as a first foray but interesting enough to keep me engaged. I finally found something I think would be a reasonably sized project for starting out and would also actually be useful to me. Unfortunately, in researching it, I ran in to the fact that there is no API for Google Now.
To back track a bit, the app/functionality I want to implement is a modification to cards, or to one of the data feeds Google pulls from to populate Now cards. I commute in and out of NYC via Metro North, but walk to and from the station on both ends, so what I really need is the information for the next 5 trains scheduled inbound in the morning and outbound in the evening between Grand Central and my home stop, along with the track number the train is slated to leave from. This data is available from a datafeed provided by the MTA (and already utilized by an Android app I already use). The transit and commute Now cards don't provide me the information I need.
Since there's no Google Now API, the direct root is not available to me, so I started to try to look in to alternative methods. I came across the Places API and was thinking of trying to use it as a back door to populating the data I'm interested in in to Now (by having a service that pulls the train info I'm interested in from the MTA feed and pushes it to Now as Events at the stations I'm interested in), but since custom Places data is tied to an app ID and only made available to requests from that app, it seems to me that that angle is a non-starter, since I'm not going to have the Now app ID.
I've been trying to poke around for any other viable approaches to the problem, but my search has thus far come up dry, so I have come here. Has anyone come up with any ways to feed info in to Now cards? Are there even any promising areas of investigation, short of hacking Now itself?
Edit: I also considered trying to push the train schedule data to my calendar so it would bubble up in to Now, but that is just a bit too clunky and spammy, imo.
Does anyone know of anything interesting being done in this area? I'm thinking some sort of integration with calendar is the only way to go...
Scrolling through the apps installed on my phone, and it is hit or miss on which of the Android and/or Google apps have \u0026 in the middle of their names. Not all, but it seems the important ones do, that downloaded and installed in the middle of the night hours or days after the initial purchase and set up of the phone. Isn't Gmail, Chrome, Android Web View, Device Unlock, Calculator, Device Health Services, and most Google services already installed in Android phones? It's even in some of the apps I installed later on, but not all. I have looked it up, both here and using different search engines. Not too excited with the results, nor do I have the IT brains to understand all the jargon. Would someone here please explain it in layman's terms? BTW, I know I have been hacked/tracked by my ex for a while now. Would \u0026 happen to be a way to remote access and monitor my phone usage?
EDIT: Nothing was synced to old phones, devices, or accounts. This isn't the first new device he has gained access to. There have been several brands and models, phones and laptops. Your guess is as good as mine, and the police, as to how it is being done. Sometimes he leaves "<rooted>" on the screen or turns on 911 only it locks up the phone a few hours after bringing it into the house. He works in the tech industry. No, this isn't my device I've asked this on. This really hasn't been as fun as it sounds.
Thank you all in advance!
I will put my tin foil hat on while anxiously waiting your replies.
(I know, funny not funny. Either has been having to live with his BS.)
Checking back and bumping. There was just one reply on another thread. Please, someone has to know of this Google and Android system hacking apps combo floating around in Google Developer and Firebase. It's a real thing, and my nightmare now. I will not censure if you developed it or are using it on someone other than me. However, I beg you to reconsider if you are. There are days that I feel that worrying about the safety of my kids and if he does show up somewhere I'm at with a grudge to settle is too much to handle. Not everyone has the ability to get through that. I did not deserve his controlling abuse when we were together and there seems to be no way to get out from under his thumb currently. The local cyber cops have been of no help. They either do not believe this happening, these types of apps exist and what they do are possible (One said, "Those kind of things are just in James Bond movies"), or they think there is no imminent threat because there aren't bruises and the little I do have in the bank has not been touched after closing and opening numerous accounts to keep him out. I make just enough to support my kids and myself. Banking, online shopping, and social media are impossible, and the time is now spent trying to end this on my own. Please, help is needed. One of the members on here has to know what the hell this is.
Thank you again.

\u0026 seems to be the escape sequence of the Unicode character &. \u0026 cannot do any damage by itself, but it can be and probably is a result of incorrect encoding or decoding of text strings, which in turn could be caused by hacking. If you don't know what Unicode is, here is the Wikipedia article.
I am not sure whether the "<rooted>" really represents that the device is rooted, but you generally don't want someone untrusted to root your device, as rooting it allows the one who rooted it to have unrestricted access to the device.

He has had remote unrestricted access to my devices. The <rooted> is one of his reminders he is there, as well as <bootloadermode>, or the locking up or turning on 911 calls only. This hasn't been fun, either having it happen en use or waking up to it. I do not allow this. New devices, new Google accounts, never syncing, and never logging into old accounts. However, no one seems to be able to figure out how he gets into new devices once they enter the house. New routers, modems, entire internet accounts, he still weasels his way in. The hacking apps are Google Developer based, this I know. Try getting info on that out of Google without a warrant. Cyber cops have brushed this under the rug since there has been no physical or financial harm, as of yet.
He lived with me when we were dating. Is there a device that may be in my home that could hi-jack my wifi, allow him to sign into my device, and show it as my device while VPN-ing an address even after all the changes? (I seems to travel all over the place on occasion according to my IP addresses that show up) The location tracking and call/text monitoring is real, as he has shown up or had let things said in my private (ha!) conversations with others slip. Of course he has nothing to do with this. (ha! again)
Any help or input on this would be greatly appreciated. I have looked things up at the library until my eyes bled. I can only comprehend so much without an IT background. I do not have the money for a cyber forensic investigator, and I know the local police probably have me on the Crazy Crying Wolf list. Which is just as embarrassing as knowing that having a complete lack of privacy in my life is a total nightmare.
Thank you again.
