Hello I have the first droid phone v2.2 I had it rooted and working just fine on the cynogen mod rom. It worked great for about 3 days, this morning I cant get the phone to turn on. I have charged the phone, restored my last backup, and restarted the phone. The only things i have access to is clockwork mod and bootloader. However I do keep getting the "M" symbol on the phone so I think it might be trying to turn on. Can anyone help me with how I can get my droid operational again? Thank You

Hi guys, just made this account but i've been here for a while.
My D2G has problems.
My power button is broken and i cant access the bootloader.
My phone is (thank god) rooted and has stock 2.2
I tried to get venusX 3.2 gingerbread but forgot to sbf.
im stuck at the red M logo with the bee and cant sbf (power button im guessing)
I tried to sbf since my battery autoboots when inserted and held the up key to see if i could get into the bootloader.
This is the problem why i cant sbf:
My screen is blank and flashes on and off every 15 seconds and RSD Lite 4.9 doesnt even detect the phone. (PC too)
So to sum this up, basically i cant get into the bootloader fully and cant sbf to stock 2.2
I seriously need help with this.
Oh and i dont think i should ask this in this question since its unrelated and all...
but my D2G's Data does not work for some reason and i can only use it on wifi for the web (no talk/text) Verizon told me that i need to call *228 and press 1 and 2 on separate calls. Needless to say it did nothing. Everytime my phone boots the 3G icon pops up for 2 seconds and then disappears.
I had my 4G xoom unlocked and rooted, installed Tiamat 2.2 on it (which then killed the 3G) so I decided to flash back to stock, but somehow screwed up the backup, managed to go back to factory 3G image with the HRI66.zip file I found in another thread. It unrooted my phone and relocked it, but now it's in a constant reboot loop, showing the honeycomb images for nearly 45 minutes now. What's my options? My computer wont talk to it, because I can't even get into it to enable USB debugging.... UGH!
sooo..... I let my device run dead.... then powered it up, went into fastboot mode, which took me straight to the unlock screen.... because I didn't lock it when I unrooted it.... All fixed..... except still NO 3G!!!!!
So, I rooted last night using Pete's Motorola Root Tools. Worked perfectly, I had root, and was enjoying drocap2 and a few other root apps.
Well, I downloaded Rom Manager (already had Premium) and downloaded Cyanogen Mod 7.1, the only stable release listed for my phone. I downloaded it, and went to install it, and that's when it got stuck at the Motorola logo screen.
I backed up everything - so that shouldn't be a problem. But the phone won't turn on at all. No matter how long I hold down the power button. If I charge the phone the Motorola logo comes on, but it stays on even when I unplug the phone, and then I have to pull the battery.
Any ideas on what I can do?
simply use the available sbf to recover back to working state.
do not use rom manager, it is not fully compatible with d2g. read in the forums how to get CM working on your phone, not all of it works though..

If you haven't SBFed, look at my thread and do steps 9-11 first and see if it fixes the problem.

I pulled my vortex out of storage the other day to tinker. It was rooted but fully updated stock 2.2.2
When I booted it up, it stayed on the boot animation 20+ minutes, until the battery ran out. I've tried booting it up again but it keeps bootlooping.
I figured I'd just flash a new ROM onto it, but I never put a custom recovery onto it and the only Vortex Recovery I found was this;
http://androidforums.com/getitnowmarketing/330813-all-one-recovery-thread.html
However, it says I need to do on-device commands and stuff to get it working, which obviously isn't an option.
Is there any other way you guys could think to resurrect my old Vortex? My Droid Charge is my phone now, this thing doesn't get much use anymore, but I'd still like to get it back in a usable form.
EDIT: FYI, already tried everything relevant in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1031596
If you flashed stock rom. Try hard reset.
Home+vol down / vol up+ power.
thank you! that button trick did the job!
EDIT:
well, it worked once, but the phone had been uncharged for a while so the battery died, and now i can't get the trick to work again >_<
is there a way to re-flash stock without a custom recovery?
I have the nexus s 4g flashed to boost mobile. it has ran great for over a year now. i have flashed many roms and kernals to it and it has worked like a charm with only the occational hickup. but a few weeks ago when i would power it down and change may battery it would start to get stuck on the google screen. i could pull the battery a few times and it would eventually take off and work fine for a few day and then do it again. this last time it done it i cant get it to go past the google screen for nothing. i can get into the fast boot mode and also into clockworkmod touch recovery but when i go into flash zip from sd it say error loading sd, when i plug it into my computer it conects when in fastboot but i cannot access my sd memory at all. i tried the pdanet but it wont work due to no access to the sd. i downloaded the program wugs nexus tool kit and tried to flash stock and unroot with option bootloop / soft-brick in my boot loader. the program seems like it is working, it takes control of my phone restarts bootloader a few times then says restarting your now stock phone, but my phone just sits in bootloader. i have tried to manually reboot system and it just goes to the google screen and stops. when i power on my phone the google logo comes up, flashes away for a split second then pops back up with the leds at the bottom of my phone on this time but thats all i can get. please help i dont know what to try next. let me know if any of you have had this problem before and what you did to get it fixed. Please help i miss my Nexus...
