Swipepad and pageonce in the market - EVO 4G Themes and Apps

So usually I get really good battery life with MIUI rom I think is the best compare to CM and any sense rom in battery life and I use this 2 apps, well pageonce(bank accounts and bills) I barely start using it cause when it came out for android it look bad compare to my BB pageonce app and swipe pad I really like it cause is like an extra launcher in any app which make app switching faster and stuff, you guys should try them, anyways my battery was really bad today and it doesn't look like they killing my battery but is draining faster then normal and those are the only apps that I never had in MIUI rom, any ideas?

could be background processing, i.e. grabing info behind the scene's or lyrics etc data yada yada might want to install a os monitor or an app freezer

I got system panel? Will that do?
Any experience with pageonce?

Go to settings - check the battery usage per app.
(I am the android developer of Pageonce...)

+1 for system panel app, it does a great job monitoring everything going on and it also has a nice installer feature.

No more battery woes

One of my biggest woes ever since i switched to gb was battery. I have been tirelessly searching for the best performance +battery rom out there. While i do value battery life,i dont wanna compromise on perf! I have tried out almost all stock based,i9000 based roms,cm7,n many releases of miui.cm7 n miui are the best performers out there for obvious reasons.but I really like the customizations of miui, n so tend to stick with miui more. Battery life is pretty good on galnet miui stable editions, but nowhere as good as froyo! But galnet, combined with a battery saving app green power, just works wonders 4 me! This is not a flame thread, nor fanboyism, just some knowledge sharing.
check this out, my best battery setup yet.
daily use rom- galnet miui stable 2.9.23 +glitch 12b3 smartass gov. +kg3 modem. battery lasting for 21 hours.
cell standby- very poor,~15-18%no signal, inside factory. this accounts for 50%of my battery drain.
display- 1.5hrs,
no wifi,3g on the whole time, but data controlled by green power.
call around 20mins, gaming around 20 mins, online videos ~15-20 mins.
some texting
oc to 1.2g +heavy uv using glitch 12b3.
Screenshots below.
Ps-if instead of 3g,I switch to 2g the whole time,I still have ~30%left by now.
if I am in a good signal area, this rom will easily last me 1.5 days. kudos to both green power n galnet.
EDIT: Actually, screen on time may have been more along the lines of 2hrs, looking at the battery monitor graph. i cant read from miui standard battery history because i had 2 restart my phone once, so it doesnt show correct unplugged times.
wherecan I find this green power app you speak of?
MIUI 1.10.14, NEO 17r18 with v51 script set to smartass/powersave, OC to 1200 mhz. No apps that disable network connections (think Juice Defender).

That's not bad for light to moderate use. I think mines not bad for moderate to heavy use.
Im on andromeda 3 again after flashing nearly ever custom rom in the past months including gingerbread roms. I still think andromeda 3 has the best battery.

Froyo ftw
Wow, the battery usage varies greatly between different people and their respective usage.
I've only used 3 ROMs: stock Rogers 2.2, Firefly 3.0, and Apex 10.1. My best battery life was with Rogers 2.2 but the ROM was lacking such as no working BT dialing. Firefly 3.0 was great and then Gingerbread came out. Now on Apex 10.1, I am getting only mediocre battery life. I can last 24 hours after light to moderate use only, but the screen was on for about 3 hours.

I'm on miui, oc'd to 1400, small uv, I'm consistently 18+ hrs, screen time in the 2 1/2 hr range. More than enough to get me through a day. Not that I care, I've got a car adapter if I need it. I would never go back to a ****ty samsung rom after experiencing miui goodness. The ui is unsurpassed, and the speed is incredible. No more of this having to reboot and clear caches to prevent the lagging and overall crappiness from the other roms. Reflash the update once a week and good to go. Never been easier and I've never been happier. I'll look into this app tho as suggested.

I'm a G2 / iPhone 4S user and I can honestly say that iPhones' battery is crap. Might be the bug everyone's on about, but seriously - I don't even think it's a bug, just the iCloud service, and all the rest background info and diagnostics that are sent all the time. I switched all of them off, and still it sucks battery on Idle more than Android. I can get through a day, sometimes two on the G2 with MIUI, iPhone drops like 15-20% overnight, and about 10-15% per hour daytime.
I, personally got tired (and bored) of the OS in a couple of months and selling the 4S.
Maybe it's just me, but I get excited when I see news of new ports, kernels, hacks etc on my Android RSS feed, on iOS feed all I get is "amazing new wallpapers" news.

I must agree, iPhone battery is worst. My Dad has iPhone 4s and My wife has iPhone 4 so I know how quickly the battery drains especially the 4S. There are also other things that bothers me about IOS. It is not as user friendly or intuitive as you think. I used to think that out of the box, iPhone has the more user friendly OS but not anymore.
I found out that you can not attached files as easy as you would like android when composing e-mail. There is no conditional call forwarding options in the call forwarding settings. Turning wifi on/off is not as easy as placing a widget on the home screen for toggling. No text reflow. browser doesn't play flash (There are a lot of sites that my wife visits that plays flash videos and her ipad/iphone can't play it). I'm sure there are more

aren't almost all, if not all batteries made in China these days?
if it makes you feel better you can pick up a Official HTC Evo 3D battery. 1730mah.
I have it in my Senny and have been pretty happy with it.
anyway, from what I understand, IPhone 4/4s batteries are 1420mah...
also, the battery in the Iphone is gonna wear out at some point, then you'd have to deal with the hassle of sending it to Apple for a replacement.
you'll loose the bigger screen and customization of Android phones, and have to deal with a boring OS.
not worth it imho.
If I was in your shoes and have battery problems, I'd just get a new, bigger battery... but that's me...
whatever you choose, good luck.
flash miui, your battery life will be much better since its very light. or trying using an ics rom(preferbly the senseless ones) it has really great battery life

No, I'll do with an iPhone, what an iPhone is best at - I'll sell it ))))
I agree with the commenter above, I didn't want to rant about the OS, but since we're on the subject - iOS is far less user friendly, because of the closed and unintegrated OS architecture.
For example: Apps can not communicate with one another. Like when you are in a RSS reader the "full" article will open in a webView space, meaning it's not the Safari browser, but an interface the developer created, that has the safari rendering engine inside. So, every app developer has to "create" a browser of his own, witch is a bad idea and often feels like an afterthought. If you use services like Read It Later, there is no guarantee that an App will allow you to save the article for later reading, because the app can't see it's installed - you have to hope the developer included it in its "share" option. There is almost always a "read in Safari" option, but you can't change it - you can not assign a browser you like and use as your default browser. same with Camera, Gallery app etc.
The things mentioned above, like browser without text reflow, t9 dialing, easy way to toggle BT, WIFI, Brightness etc...
Settings is a clusterf*ck! I don't know where the whole iOS = Consistency thing came from, but believe me - there is nothing consistent about iOS Settings. Some apps will have settings right inside the app, some will integrate their settings into the OS settings menu, some will have both. For example in an IM app you'll have your settings for color theme inside the apps Options menu, and separate ringtone options in the OS Settings. More than that - Even some Games will throw some options into the OS Settings. So you want to turn off notifications for your emails. You go into Settings, and you have to find Mail Settings among Guns'n'Glory, GT racing, Location Services, Mobile Networks etc... And clicking on Guns'n'Glory might give you an option to turn ingame Vibration On/Off, for example - Why not include the option inside the game menu!??
iTunes is another bi*ch As it turns out you can not sync your phone to more than one computer in 2012 - wtf? Real world example for you here: I chose that my Work PC will be my computer i sync my iPhone with, because I spend more time with tech at work than at home, so now i'm on holidays for 2 weeks and I can't even put any music on to my iPhone! for 2 freaking weeks my iPhone enjoys the autonomy, while I'm out of office - it's ridiculous.
We are spoiled by Android. It's far more productive. iOS is good for launching apps - nothing more. Imagine your current Sense device as it is now, but stripped of everything, but the app drawer. You unlock your device, and there is nothing but the app drawer there.
no u should on it

If you haven't tried it, give SENSEaY a try. I almost gave up on the sensation and started looking at the sgs 2, but since flashing that rom I routinely charge every other night, sometimes every 3 nights. In the post there are tips for saving battery life. I think mostly turn off pocket mode and phone finder helps a lot.
Another thing I want to point out is the Evo 3d oem battery is only $14 on Amazon, I don't know if you can get that shipped to you somehow. 15% extra is not a lot, but it does help.

[Q] Any tips on saving battery on Sensation ?

So i just got a deal for a cheap Sensation and decided to give it a try. After a few days, i really like the Sense UI + ICS but find the battery is pretty bad compare to my GS2.
The Sensation drains about 8% overnight while the gs2 drains 2-3% overnight, both with nothing on. When playing music (doing nothing else, screen off) the battery drains a whopping 5%/h. while i dont think the gs2 would drain more than 1%/h just playing music. I thought the battery life on both phones should be more or less the same given the same specs and battery capacity (1650 vs 1520).
To be more specific, my ROM is ARHD 6.5.0 ICS, i havent installed any new app yet, i have the follwing widgets on : email, messages, weather, contact, task, music. I'm not sure if the drainage is coming from those widgets.
One more question, is there any way to quickly change brightness ? (like sliding the status bar as with the gs2). Auto brightness may be draining more battery but going through setting->display->brightness every single time is painful.
Any tips would be appreciated. Thank you.
download just defence i got a good result of it underclock your phone a bit to

something like this should do im not sure havent seen any other kernel for sensetion 3.32 base UV'ed
Juice Defender is a good option to test out, even using default settings it's pretty good with helping battery usage/drain.
Otherwise ARHD is using Sebastian's kernel at this point and you have the choice of using the 1.2 or OC'd 1.5 Ghz speed when flashing. If you're concerned you can use the 1.2 version or flash the 1.5 and just set the clock speed using something like SetCPU, available here on XDA, or System Tuner, from the Market.
As far as I know right now, the kernels are not allowing UV because the official source hasn't been released yet. Once source is released/obtained then things like UV and other deeper optimizations can be done by the awesome kernel developers here.

So you have finally made your choice in choosing between HTC Sensation and Samsung Galaxy S II? Found yourself having to recharge your new Android device every 8hours? You’re not alone. Some users reported to have a poor battery performance for their Android phones. Older device ranging from HTC Desire, Motorola Droid, Samsung Galaxy S, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 to the latest dual-core Android phones; LG Optimus 2x, Motorla Atrix, HTC Sensation, and Samsung Galaxy S II, are not sparred with complains of poor battery life. However, Android itself is not a power hogger, or call it battery juice sucker if you like. Many users were able to get their Android device up and running in a single charge up to 3 days(gosh I missed the good old Nokia 3310-era).There are many factors in leading to poor battery life. The very main reasons are the display and unnecessarily turned on features, which some users don’t have a clue in turning it off. If you are happened to be one of the Android users not happy of the current battery performance, or you simply just want to improve the extra mileage of your Android device’s battery performance, here are some tips in improving the battery life of your Android phone.

Battery problems absolutely solved with "3g off" widget, on the market. I don't need anything more than basic phone and sms for hours at a time so I just hit the widget. Takes a few seconds to sync latest mail when it comes back on but less time than that to just find a 4g link. Great when I'm at the ofc where my mail gets pushed to my laptop anyway.
Very useful also in a weak-signal area, stops drain due to signal-search.
Juice Defender is very good for battery life but this solution is even better although the widget does require manual intervention when the screen comes back up. I use both. Possibly JD paid app automates the whole process.

CM7 GB crappy battery life!

I am using CM7's 224 nightly build. I'm running GB. Dont get me wrong, the rom is awesome! Its just the battery life is trash!
Has anyone found/developed a fix for this issue? It would be great if I could boost the battery life!
Or does it have to do with the rom as a whole?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
I also get horrible battery with any cm7 ROM. Stock GB gives me amazing battery life though so I stick with it plus it has the LG cam which records video very well.
I like CM's rom tho! Its so much cooler than stock! I guess ill have to give that up if I want better battery life tho huh anyone know how to flash the custom rom back on?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Not really. I had same issue you have with regards to battery life in CM7.
Its the apps. You need to look at Running Apps, and simply freeze them. I froze a bunch of apps that weren't suppose to be running. Keep a close eye and do that.
Average life I get on stock battery is 12 hours. Before freezing the apps, I'd get around 6h on low use which sucks.
Trust me, its the apps. Look and get Titanbackup and freeze the apps you have no use for and somehow keep popping up.
I think the Stock 2.3.3 ROM simply puts the smackdown on any apps that launch (and aren't suppose to launch).
Games
Apps
Services
You'll get the battery life but sucks that you have to put that much extra effort on CM7 just go get great battery life.
I just checked out the applications > manage apps> all, and I checked em all. I found random apps running. Stuff I don't even use, or haven't used in awhile. Like the eBay app. I haven't used it in 3 or 4 weeks and its running. Another was the Google books app. Which I have "never" used btw. There were a bunch of apps like this. So odd and creepy! Maps keeps running. Which is most likely because of location access from sites and apps and what not...I'm assuming and hoping!
But thanks for the suggestion/solution and ill let you know the results after I freeze all the unwanted crap.

Re: Ics leak tweeks

Re: Ics leak tweeks
TO SPEED UP PHONE AND BOOST PERFORMANCE. On the new ics leak.
You must be rooted to do some of these tweeks..
1. Use titanium backup or the app of your choice to freeze or uninstall unwanted or misbehaving apps. You can find a list of apps that come preinstalled (bloatware) that is known to be safe to freeze or uninstall by searching the dev section.
2. Uninstall any and all task killers or task managers. After research I find they do more harm and slow down performance and kill battery life than they help. By freezing or uninstalling misbehaving apps in step one you don't have to worry about apps running in the background eating up your data. And besides ics has a really nice data manager built in.
3. Install apex launcher from the market. I can't explain why but using this launcher with ics instead of the stock tw launcher sped my phone up considerably and totally eliminated that little bit of lag that was in it when exiting apps and scrolling screens. Not to mention apex has a lot of freeking really cool features you can't do with the stock tw launcher. Like add another shortcut icon on the dock bar and the ability to scroll 5 dock bars full of shortcuts you can add. And the home screen allows for another whole row of icons and much much more. But best of it made my phone ALOT FREAKIN FASTER....
BATTERY DRAIN ISSUES.
I found going from gingerbread to ics was a bigger strain on my battery a way bigger strain. So far this trick has helped a lot but I'm still looking for other ways to go with this to improve it even more. So if you have any tricks up your sleeve feel free to post please. So here is what I've found so far...
I used rom manager from the market but I'm sure there are other free apps that can do this again far as I know you need to be rooted to do this...
1. Wipe battery stats. After installing any new rom or even updating an existing you should always wipe battery stats. This helped my phone tremendousley.
2. Find a app that monitors your battery stats. I use badass battery monitory. I don't like the name but it will tell you which apps are draining your battery and allow you to make necasarry changes. There is a free version on the market but I'm using the paid one.
I posted this info I've learned to maybe help someone else. It helped my phone a bunch but each phone is different and what works for one may not for another so I make no guarantees. For info on rooting see the link at the beginning of this thread it worked for me. Anyone that has learned other tweaks please post. And if this is in the wrong section I'm sorry. I just started using the app and not my pc to access xda and I'm trying to figure the app out still which is laid out weird and the search option just plain sux...
