Hi,
with the new market, the refund window is reduced to 15 minutes. Now, I do not have the new market yet - do I still have the old 24 hrs? I think I read that somewhere, but can't really believe it...
I think everyone now has the new 15 minute return period, I think it is to do with Google's policy rather than the software.
This is from the android help: http://www.google.com/support/androidmarket/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=134336
I tried, in the purchase confirmation mail the new refund window of 15min is stated.
Would have been kind a strange
these games that you have to download additional data need to have a longer trial period... what a rip.
Yeah, it f***s up the rating of the games too - apart from the users feeling ripped off...
I don't understand how you can reduce the refund window to just 15 minutes. 24hrs was very generous, and abused by some who would just finish the game in that time and refund it, but 15 mins is far too less to determine if an app is worth the money - even without additional data download etc. impeding immediate usage.
Reviews anyone? Jesus I've bought apps I no longer want...I think I'm going to go complain for my $3 back...

Has anyone already bought the new version (or older version) from this and what are your findings???
Thanx
I have it, so far I like it, works well with giving an accurate projection of minutes to be used, and what I've used etc.

I agree with zabes64, just wanted to add it also shows the split between peak and off peak minutes, really good for those with unlimited evenings\weekends and low peak minutes.
Just my 2 cents worth. It's a great program with perfect customer service (user error no fault of the software). I never pay attention of my time until I get my bill at the end of the month - now I can keep updated through the month and see what the future holds.
I also have purchased this software although I dont like the fact that you cant tell it that you dont have any free PEAK mins it always defaults to 10 mins.

That is a big disadvantage! I also have no Peak minutes, just fixed rate!! Is this changeable in any way???
Hey guys. Is there any software out there that would calculate the amount of minutes you have used out of your plan. I know there is counter on the phone but that doesn't consider free evening and weekends. It would be a really useful thing to have (I go over alot).
Like you could define your plan saying that you have 150 mins between these hours and like free evenings after a certain hour. It should also consider your billing cycle as well to basically figure out when to set back to zero. And then it would keep track of your conversation times and warn you if you are about to go over.
It would be cool thing to have. Is there anything like that out there?
try handango think its called phone dashboard.
... or do a search for dktoday
thanks guys i'll try it.........i was so looking for something like this
exactly what I wanted. Thank guys
Try pocketmax phonealarm as well. its got a 30 day trial and has alot of other features as well - i'd give it 10 out of 10
So, one of my friends' kids got ahold of my phone, and went market crazy apparently. I uninstalled the apps (about 7) within about 3 hours and still have not received my refund. I thought they don't charge your card until after the 24 hour time period.
Is this normal? I've bought a game here and there and returned it because I didn't like it and I seem to remember getting that refund within an hour or two.

Were you billed for the purchases? I thought they didn't charge until 24 hours after purchase as well except for the second time. That's usually an instant charge with no refund.
I honestly don't know what time they hit my bank. I just remember seeing all the emails in my inbox.
They were returned within 3 hours.

Well, it seems they were now canceled. That's good to hear. Now, your next step is the find the kid who charged you all that and beat him.

No... It shows cancelled in the google checkout service, but I still (as of this very moment in time) have still not received my refund.
I can find no way in hell to contact google checkout about this.
What do I do?

Well, that sucks. All I can really find is this:

Up in the right corner is a "Contact Us" button if none of that helps.

"Since most users who request a refund do so within minutes of purchase, we will reduce the refund window on Market to 15 minutes. "
Terrible, terrible, terrible idea. I purchase a lot more apps knowing that I have that option to try an app out and return it. 15 minutes is NOTHING. I'll be a lot more selective about what I buy.
What the hell, this wasn't a global anouncement?

Agreed, hopefully they will adjust the refund window, to a reasonable compromise...

this would be fine for some apps but not for all.
i bought a parcel tracking app and when the parcel did arrive the app couldn't see it had been delivered when the web page said it had.
so 5 hours after buying it i got a refund, now i'd be stuck with it.
sounds like a joke :|
15min might not be enough to finish an installation given how market currently works...
This is info for people in the same boat i am.
Please this is info i have not seen and thought would be helpful to some.
ok.
I just got off the phone with tmobile.
again they acted surprised that my g2x had problems
but i told them i could not see paying a bill for a phone sitting on the table that was unusable to me since it had several problems i needed to carry my other phone so why carry 2.
they offered to lower my data plan so it would be cheaper
I said i had no problem waiting for the update since i do have another phone but could not see paying for it at the same time.
i asked if they had something similair to verizon where i could suspend my account until the update came out.
after there times they finally admitted there was one.
I do have to say they were very polite.
*********so if you have another phone or service and stuck as i am at this current time. you can suspend your account for up to 90 days. it costs 10 dollars per 30 days to do this but 30 dollars over 3 months is better than 270.
by than they should either have the phone working or have to admit it will never work. or at least gives 90 days to have the bbb or someone help you get out of this.
I know this is really only good for someone with another phone but thought i would let people know that may not.
Hope this is worthwhile to some*************************
