Android Market has not refunded my money after 72hrs??? - General Topics

So, one of my friends' kids got ahold of my phone, and went market crazy apparently. I uninstalled the apps (about 7) within about 3 hours and still have not received my refund. I thought they don't charge your card until after the 24 hour time period.
Is this normal? I've bought a game here and there and returned it because I didn't like it and I seem to remember getting that refund within an hour or two.

Were you billed for the purchases? I thought they didn't charge until 24 hours after purchase as well except for the second time. That's usually an instant charge with no refund.

I honestly don't know what time they hit my bank. I just remember seeing all the emails in my inbox.
They were returned within 3 hours.

Well, it seems they were now canceled. That's good to hear. Now, your next step is the find the kid who charged you all that and beat him.

No... It shows cancelled in the google checkout service, but I still (as of this very moment in time) have still not received my refund.
I can find no way in hell to contact google checkout about this.
What do I do?

Well, that sucks. All I can really find is this:

Up in the right corner is a "Contact Us" button if none of that helps.

Android market return window is being reduced to 15 minutes

http://android-developers.blogspot.com/2010/12/android-market-client-update.html
"Since most users who request a refund do so within minutes of purchase, we will reduce the refund window on Market to 15 minutes. "
Terrible, terrible, terrible idea. I purchase a lot more apps knowing that I have that option to try an app out and return it. 15 minutes is NOTHING. I'll be a lot more selective about what I buy.
What the hell, this wasn't a global anouncement?

Agreed, hopefully they will adjust the refund window, to a reasonable compromise...

this would be fine for some apps but not for all.
i bought a parcel tracking app and when the parcel did arrive the app couldn't see it had been delivered when the web page said it had.
so 5 hours after buying it i got a refund, now i'd be stuck with it.
sounds like a joke :|
15min might not be enough to finish an installation given how market currently works...

[Q] Old refund window with old market?

Hi,
with the new market, the refund window is reduced to 15 minutes. Now, I do not have the new market yet - do I still have the old 24 hrs? I think I read that somewhere, but can't really believe it...
I think everyone now has the new 15 minute return period, I think it is to do with Google's policy rather than the software.
This is from the android help: http://www.google.com/support/androidmarket/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=134336
I tried, in the purchase confirmation mail the new refund window of 15min is stated.
Would have been kind a strange
these games that you have to download additional data need to have a longer trial period... what a rip.
Yeah, it f***s up the rating of the games too - apart from the users feeling ripped off...
I don't understand how you can reduce the refund window to just 15 minutes. 24hrs was very generous, and abused by some who would just finish the game in that time and refund it, but 15 mins is far too less to determine if an app is worth the money - even without additional data download etc. impeding immediate usage.
Reviews anyone? Jesus I've bought apps I no longer want...I think I'm going to go complain for my $3 back...

They said they will "hold" the amount from the account and then apply the charge when it ships... Depending on how your bank processes holds (or freezes), it may show up as a charge, but the date will likely change to the ship date when the charge is applied...
Like my current bank shows it as a "D/C Settlement" with Monday's date, when the phone ships it will be a charge, the "D/C/ Settlement" tag will be removed, and it will have the ship date's date (Exactly like how it happened with my Atrix last year). At my old bank (BB&T) it would show up as a charge from whenever they applied the hold, then the date would change later (which is what happened with my Captivate)... It just depends on the bank for how they handle the codes on their end.

lol, i wish, i still haven't been charged :/
I have not been charged. Pre-ordered early Sunday PST, online system still says "In Process" and does not show backordered.
My credit card shows it as a pending charge so far but it's only been one day.

my order status changed in style but still says preorder, not backorder.
my card hasn't been charged but the funds have most certainly been reserved. that's basically the same thing as being charged. it's money you can no longer use.

I ordered Monday from a store, bank account shows nothing.

Like somebody else said, it depends on how your bank handles holds. You aren't actually charged until shipment. But for my bank there was a hold for the amount, but holds disappear after about three days without actual charge, so it is gone now. If it never showed up, don't sweat. Banks handle things differently.
Rabble rabble rabble.
I won't get charged till it ships, so no for me.
Everyone just needs to relax. Wether you're charged or not involves many factors, some AT&T can't control. If you go an order confirmation just wait.
A pending charge isn't "charged", mine is pending and has been since I placed my order.
This is a quote from the e-mail I got, and yes, the money in my account is on hold.
"Please note, your credit card will be charged at time of shipment. If using either a credit or debit card, funds in the amount of this purchase will be immediately held and not available for other use. Credit and debit card transactions will not appear in your account until time of shipment."

But it depends how your bank works with holds, for me they charged it. Everything should be just fine on wednesday for everyone that ordered.

And your post was helpful how? If you're going to criticize someone by doing the same thing and wasting keystrokes you can go somewhere else. If my post was thanked it helped someone.

my social security information was sold to dark web

According to some youtube video those information is being traded from $40 to $130.
And Strangely another person is using same phone number as mine. Phone calls from hospital saying your appointment is tomorrow please show up 30 min early regulary from same hospital. One time I can read real time messages from my number back and forth communicating.
And this person was located in Coloarado but had moved my my area. The hospital is 20 miles away from my house.
And I believe that my boss is the one who sold this information. One day he seemed vey content he was very kind to me and he worry about my health and all sort of things and gave me $20. I get $11/h and all sort of gas lighting all day. He gaving me $20 could mean only one thing. He made money off of me. I don't know how much money he made off of me but he seemed content for 2-3 days. And my phone was hacked and my battery drop from 25% to 0% in 5 sec. And those kind of things last couple of days. What is happening to me? Do you guys know more about this? Please Hellp!!!
Change SIM-card.

Question Samsung Watch 4 - mine and wife dead within a couple weeks

Hey All!
Both the wife and I have had our watches inexplicably die in the past couple of weeks. Totally dead. No sign of life on any one of three different chargers where as my Watch 5 works on all of them - they were roughly 14 months old, purchased on US launch date. Holding down the two buttons for well over 30 seconds and nothing. Left on the chargers for well over 12 hours.
Anyone else had theirs die around this age? Any ideas? No Sammy service center near us.
!!As far as I can tell the warranty is 1 year . Talk about designed in obsolescence!!
Battery failure sounds like. They should be good for at least 200 full charge cycles. wtf?
Even that bare minimum is what it should take them to reduce the capacity to 80% of the original capacity, before they're considered degraded... not stone cold dead.
There was an issue with the firmware.

Further research, warranty is only 2 years in limited countries where as most others are 1 year.
I did buy mine in the UK but, I need to take it to them or get the to come and pick it up. As I now live in the Philippines, that's a challenge!
It's now late here so I'll try ringing a Samsung repair center here tomorrow.

i hope they accept them in your country, samsung has this stupid policy of not holding to their warranty in you bought the device in another country so im afraid you would have to send them where you bought them.
i had a note9 which its display got affected after i got an update from samsung and when i went to a samsung repair store where i live they checked device serial number and saw that it was bought-activated in another country and refused to change my phones display and requested from me to send it there to get the display changed.
Have had the same issue. Just happened to come across this thread. Finally got someone available in chat this afternoon and after fooling with them for an hour I have an appointment at a ubreakifix local to me on Wednesday. Was like pulling nails to get that. They were wanting me to trade up to the Watch 5. I like my watch and for the price of the 4 classic it darn sure should last more than 15 months.
