Well like the title says I'm trying to learn I have had a rooted moto Droid since shortly after I got it in Nov of 09. Now I have a gtab and can't get past magic value mismatch. I've learned how to restore it and can get tnt lite 4.2.2 running great but can't get any other Rom running. I've tryed using clockworkmod and nvflash and still always get magic value mismatch. But that's ok TNT lite is nice till I can figure it out but I would like to try the other roms. But my biggest focus on the tab is, is there any way to install an HD version of YouTube? Or will the gtab not support 720p YouTube? I couldn't find a definitive answer for either question in search.
Thanks for any help.
Turbo.

Ok I have been playing with a g tablet for a couple of days and am liking what I have seen so far with the tnt roms.
I have yet to install CWM as for one I am not sure what all is involved and 2 I was unsure if I was going to keep it at first.
So now that I am going to hold onto it what CWM version should I use for the g tablet and how do I install it? Is it similar to flashing a new rom or do I need to use adb?(if so what commands).
I am wanting to try out the VEGAn beta 3 as it seems pretty sweet, but would like to be able to back up all that I have now incase I want to go back.
Thanks in advance.
Here is the link to the posted guide to install CWM in the "Android Development" section;

Thanks I must have used the wrong search terms as I didn't see that.
Again thanks.
hi there. before i get moaned at .... im new here, ive searched and searched, and im still stuck!
soo got a galaxy s yesterday. not really used android before, so guess im a "noob". its running running 2.2.1, and have tried z4root (first time i tried it, it did a few steps then just closed, and now it usually just gets stuck on the first step). tried doing it via the recovery menu, but im using 3e, which isnt very good for the task so i hear. have also tried a few other ways but have always got stuck at some step. superoneclick is something i have yet to try, as net framework 4 is moaning it needs 1gb of space, and im stuck on a netbook with a 4gb ssd, but im convinced it will not work for me anyway.
all i want to do is install a custom rom! seems like such a painful process. some great looking roms and sites out there, but i have also come across some painfully hard to understand (worded badly) ones.
so all i want to know is, how can i flash a custom rom to my 2.2 galaxy s, with 3e recovery? and more importantly, if i need to root it how to do it, as it just aint working for me.
ps: sorry if theres any typos/lack of caps, etc, but this netbook has a very poor keyboard. i think it needs a good clean.
cheers
Purchased an Asus Transformer about 2 weeks ago on Amazon and received a B07...the screen on it ended up having some discoloration on the sides where when something black was playing, you could see white/green discoloration marks near the edge...needless to say, I sent it back to Amazon and they just sent me a B05. Did I get lucky?
Cause I'm looking to root...And apparently I can root this model, but not the last one?
I have Windows 7. There's seems to be several different methods to root this device. I'm running 8.3.2.9.
Is it best to upgrade to Honeycomb 3.2 before you root, or after? Or should I stay with 3.1 Honeycomb...someone let me know and send me some links/files I need to get to root!
Appreciate it mucho!
Simply use the NVFlash method, that's the easiest way to do!

Do I need to update my firmware or update to HC 3.2 before I NVFlash?
Ultimately what I'm wanting is a rooted Honeycomb 3.2 tablet...
Well, you need to grab an NVFlash package. In this very part of the TF101 forum, you'll find a lot of (actually, 3) ROMs what are rooted, optimized, and fine-tuned. I suggest you to try Prime 1.9, it's really great!
So, all you have to do is to download the NVFlash version of Prime (or any other ROM you want to install), and follow the NVFlash instructions. It will update your TF to 3.2, root it, etc.
You do not need to update to anything, as NVFlash is totally separate from Android - imagine it like a safety switch, what can be flipped if your device gets bricked (=means it won't really switch on due to software problems). It's a separate mode, can not be modified, etc.

You should have posted in the Q&A section.
Asking a bloody obvious stupid question to which you require an answer in a DEV section is fail.
sorry to barge in but i am going to get a transformer in a few hours and i am thinking i could easily install custom roms out of the box? also does this work on all models?
CaNsA is right this shouldnt be here.

Actually you're on a firmware that can still be root using
the old method.
Your choice but NVFlash is probably better.

No you don't need to upgrade. NVFlash work for all firmware.
I have a Kocaso M730W that comes with Android 2.3.4. It crashes frequently, and at this point, I want to either upgrade it or return it. How can I get a later version of Android onto this tablet?

I have had one of these for over a year and searched exhaustively. No one has really bothered with this cheap tablet as far as porting any of the ROMS to it. I don't even know how to boot it into recovery mode so you could flash a ROM to it even if I had one. Short answer: I think we're SOL on this one. If you keep screwing with it, try a different launcher and tweak some of it, you can get it to run pretty stable. If you do find a way, please let me know!
Back in September I Rooted, flashed, big parted and ROM'd my Xoom. Incase you haven't already guessed I haven't got a ****ing clue what I'm talking about. My Xoom is a 604 UK Wifi Xoom.
OK that's not strictly true I get the basics but I'm not even vaguely involved in the android/rooting scene.
From what I remember I rooted my Xoom the installed omni 4.4.4 using TWRP and CWM. I also had my Xoom overclocked to 1.5ghz.
Anyway fast forward to last night and I turned my Xoom on for the first time in a while. I was playing about with it and noticed under the system updates there was an update available so I clicked to download and install it.
After the install it appears to have screwed up my root access, I assume most people on here knew this would happen! I thought as it was coming through the update option on the tablet it would be fine. Anyway I just wondered how to get the root back? do I have to wipe the tablet and start again?
I'd be greatful if someone could let me know the procedure for this sort of stuff. And also guide me to the best/latest firmware/root/partition/kernal/rom whatever.
Thanks,
Chris
