Motorola Milestone 2 Debrand guide - Milestone 2 Android Development

Disclaimer: I will not be held responsible for any damage to your phone, your PC from following this guide. The steps in this guide worked for me. If you have problems uninstall everything and start from Step 4 again. Doing this kind of thing could affect your warranty and all that so have a long hard think about it before you go ahead
This guide will show you how to debrand your Motorola Milestone 2 (Eg bought on Optus AU and want generic UK firmware), or indeed restore the phone if you brick (Eg removing important apps that you shouldn’t have touched!!)
##Disconnect phone from PC##
STEP 1 Download usb drivers here below
Motorola Drivers Here: http://developer.motorola.com/docstools/USB_Drivers/
STEP 2 Download the debranded Firmware here (To debrand to generic I used the UK one
Choose Firmware Here: http://and-developers.com/sbf:milestone2
STEP 3 Download RSDLite - I used v4.9, I found earlier versions would not work. Get it here.
RSDLite 4.9 (use google)
STEP 4 Install the USB Drivers and the RSDLite program and reboot PC
STEP 5 Extract the firmware file you downloaded a while ago. Then copy the .sbf firmware file to c:\Program files\Motorola\RSDLite folder (installation directory for RDSLite). this should come out as
MILS2_U6_2.2.16_SIGNED_UCAMILESTONE2B1B80E100A.0R_UCXMILE20RTGB_P029_A007_HWp2a_Service1FF for the UK one.
STEP 6 Start the RSDLite program now where it says filename press the select button and find the .sbf firmware file in c:\Program files\Motorola\RSDLite (it should default to this folder) and select the (sbf) file some details will appear on the right hand side.
STEP 7 Now plug in the USB cable and it should install the drivers . Once the driver installation has finished you should see the phone appear at the bottom of the RSDLite program window under `port 1` - Once this is there you are ready to flash the firmware. NB: I had issues getting it to show a number of times. Uninstalling RSDLite/Drivers, rebooting PC, and then reinstalling these resolved this issue.THE PHONE HAS TO BE CONNECTED AS MOTOROLA PHONE PORTAL AND I ALSO HAD USB DEBUGGING ON
STEP 8 Press the start button on the RSDLite and just relax while your device gets flashed, debranded etc. you will see a progress status on the right hand side wait till it reaches 100% but please do not disconect it will reboot the phone automaticly and restart the phone. And just wait untill android comes up and fully running untill you disconnect it should read (PLEASE START PHONE MANUALY) on RSDLite when this shows it is safe to unplug.
Hopefully now you will have a debranded/unbricked phone.
I then performed a factory reset on the handset
Hope you find this useful and I look forward to a great community for the Milestone 2

any chance you can post a link for the australian stock rom as the links above are all broken.

the same as restoring..
What you describe is the same procedure to restore to phone to factory condition if it's rom was altered, isn't it??

RE: Backflip dead. Help
Hey there jvdelacruz,
I faced a situation similar in some ways where I thought I bricked my Motorola Backflip MB300 (in Australia).
Please read below and follow the steps as best you can. I hope this helps you.
How to Restore Your Motorola Backflip to Original Firmware/State Using RSD Lite
If you are having problems when experimenting (and failing) to put a new ROM onto your Backflip which makes your phone not work (you think it may be "Bricked") then this may be the one thing that get's you out of the fire.
This proceedure below may restore your phone to a state similar to when you bought it.
If you follow the proceedure in this document you will loose all data on your phone.
If you are in a state where your phone can back up data, I would suggest you do this before following this proceedure.
If you are at a point where you end up on the dreaded "Triangle and Exclamation Mark" screen or your phone keeps starting over and over, then this guide might save you.
In my case, I deleted an importanat file (recovery) on my Backflip, and this did not allow me to use recovery to re-flash my Backflip. It just went into a reboot cycle that would not stop unless I removed the battery.
Step 1:
Download original OEM Firmware (otherwise known as a ROM) for your Backflip according to your country/phone provider. These files will either be in Zip format or, if unzipped ".SHX" or ".SBF" file types. If in Zip, you will need to unzip it using 7-zip or any other unzipping program.
I found the ROM for my OPTUS (Australian) phone along with many other countries on the ModMyMobile.com look under "Motorola Backflip" in the forums (I have the URL, but cannot give it here as I am a new member).
Download the Backflips original ROM according to your country and provider from the above link.
Note: you will need to join the forum to download files, so the registration process is necessary before downloading the ROM:
Note: If your phone can boot up to the blue bootloader, you can still flash it with RSD Lite (in case your recovery is screwed too).
Note: You cannot downgrade from firmware with greater secure version to one with lower secure version. Flashing a SBF sets the required secure version for future flashes to it's own secure version (if the flash suceeds)
Step 2.
Download Motorola Backflip USB drivers for 32bit/x86*or 64bit/x64*and install.
Step 3:
Download RSD Lite program (which will do the flashing of the Firmware/ROM). Simply do a search on Google for RSD Lite with the version number eg: search for "RSD Lite 4.5.7". Once found, simply download and install on your Windows machine. Note well, I used windows XP as it seems windows 7 has issues with running RSD Lite. There are however forums discussing work-arounds on the Win 7 issue. If you have Win 7, I suggest searching for help on this.
Warning: Version of RSD Lite MUST be equal to (or possibly greater than) that as listed in the ROM download page of your provider/country that you used above in step one. The little box in the left bottom of the screen will tell you the RSD Lite version that is required.
In my case, the version of RSD Lite used was 4.5.7
Once downloaded, Install RSD Lite.
Step 4:
Run RSD Lite.
For a guide that includes pictures on how to use RSD Lite, go to the wiki site called "howardforums" and search "How_to_flash_with_RSD_lite"
Now you will have one screen come up which displays a few mostly empty windows. Connect your Motorola Backflip to the PC with a USB cable.
The Motorola should now show up in one of the lower boxes as a device (one line). If you click on the line which has the newly discoverd device, it will then bring information up to the top left box.
Now go to the top right box and load the original OEM ROM/Firmware you downloaded off the ModMyMobile forum. Locate the ROM that you saved (wherever you saved it).
Your phone should automatically go into Bootload mode (blue screen with "Bootloader" text in small font down the bottom of the screen).
If this does not happen and your phone is not playing nice, take battery out of your phone (at any time) and then ensure the USB is connected to the PC and phone. Reinsert the battery, whilst at the same time, holding down the "D" and "J" keys on the keyboard of your backflip.
The phone should hopefully start up and go to the blue "Bootloader" screen.
From there, run the RSD Lite program to flash the old Firmware/ROM of your Motoblur and it will slowly (maybe 15 minutes) reflash your phone to it's "As purchased state".
Step 5:
The program will finish (and will let you know if it has been successful or not). You may then shut down RSD Lite, and then disconnect the phone from the PC (always use the "Eject" command from the USB device menu on XP or Win 7 where possible).
Restart your phone, and you should now have a functioning phone that should allow you to try re-flashing a new ROM onto your backflip (like CyanogenMod for example).
My thanks goes to Rashav (techGeekGuy) for his patience and tips in the Tech Geek Guy Forum and his guides on how to flash the Backflip (a wealth of information). I went crying to him for help, but thought it better for me to just work it out on the net. After a day or two, I am now usuing CyanogenMod, and it has made my Backflip a real pleasure to use.
The site where I got a lot of information on the Moto Backflip (how to root it and upgrade to 2.2 is here): techgeekguy dot com
I did find with the ROM file for CyanogenMod on the Tech Geek Guy site disfunctional, coming up with a "(Bad)" read after trying to flash onto the Backflip from Recovery Mode".
I instead used the ROM file the Mod My Mobile forum and was successful.
This concludes the process.
Good luck!
John.

[Resolved] [Q] Can't flash SBF in RSDLite, 'start' button disabled(Droid 2 [R2D2])

Got it working on my own, turns out I needed to choose the SBF file first, then connect my phone, not the other way around.

I'm following these instructions

This is the SBF I'm trying to flash

I'm using RSDLite 4.9
I've installed these drivers

I've renamed/relocated the SBF to c:/r.sbf
I've booted into bootloader mode
My device shows up in RSDLite (which I've run as administrator)
I've selected my SBF file and my device in RSDLite
The start button to begin flashing remains disabled, how do I fix this?
May your mobile phone and computer is not connected, may be your driver is not installed.

ROOT Samsung galaxy s4 canadian variants running stock/custom rom on 4.2/4.3

I created this thread just because i feel i should hare my knowledge and this is the best way to do it. i am new soo please bare with me
Ever since the 4.3 update for galaxy s4 i9505 came out, i was soo eager to get that on my samsung galaxy s4 shg-i337m which is a canadian variant. I am not the type of guy to run stock roms. i am currently using Foxhound 3.1 diamond dog (very impressive if i say so myself). when i installed it i lost root. i did have to run around to get the method to actually root it once again. i thought i would save peoples time by putting it where it belongs.
Everything below was not created by me. Original post by VINOD YALBURGI from International Business Times (ibtimes.co.uk)
but the download files are easily obtainable (google is a mans best friend)
Downloads Required
CF-Auto-Root for Galaxy S4 I9505
ODIN v3.07
NOTE: Backup important files on the phone's SD card, so if you perform a data wipe or factory reset on your device via recovery (which also formats the SD card), the data may be restored after rooting the device.
How to Root Galaxy S4 LTE GT-I9505 on Android 4.3 XXUEMJ5 Official Firmware via CF-Auto-Root
Root Galaxy S4 LTE I9505 on Android 4.3 XXUEMJ5 Official Firmware [GUIDE]
1. Extract the root file CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.zip on your computer via 7-zip software to obtain a .tar.md5 file.
2. Also extract Odin 3.07.zip file to obtain Odin3 v3.07.exe.
3. Double-click the exe file to launch Odin.
4. Boot the Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 into Download Mode. To do so, turn off the phone and wait for 6 to 7 seconds until the device completely shuts down.
5. Press and hold Volume Down, Power and Home buttons together until the "Warning!" message appears on screen. Then hit Volume Up button to progress into Download Mode.
6. Connect the phone to computer. When the phone connects successfully, a message saying "Added!" will appear at the bottom left box in Odin.
7. If the "Added!" Message fails to appear, you may try the following troubleshooting steps:
Ensure the correct USB drivers are installed for the phone on computer
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the phone's USB drivers
Connect a different USB cable and check.
Try using another USB port on the computer (preferably the one at the back)
Reboot the phone and PC. Then check if the message appears.
8. Upload the firmware files in Odin as suggested below:
Tap the PDA button in Odin and choose the .tar.md5 file, which was extracted in step 1.
9. Enable Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options in Odin. Leave all other boxes in Option section unchecked.
10. Verify the previous two steps are done correctly. If there is a mistake, it may brick your device.
11. Click Start in Odin to begin the firmware flashing process on your Galaxy S4. Wait until the PASS message appears in Odin's top left box.
12. When the PASS message appears, the phone will restart automatically. Now, it is safe to disconnect the phone from computer.
NOTE: If a FAIL message appears in step 12, just disconnect the phone from computer and exit Odin. Remove the phone's battery and reinsert it in 3 to 4 seconds, then launch Odin and repeat the entire tutorial from Step 4.
GOOD LUCK ROOTING

[FIX] Orange State Bootloop on OUKITEL K6000 Plus - HOW TO FIX

Hello,
After unlocking the bootloader and installing TWRP on my OUKITEL K6000 Plus I was trying to install madOS, but unfortunately my phone went into Orange State bootloop. I could not enter fastboot anymore, and at some point even Recovery stopped to work. My phone was almost dead. I was looking for solutions but actually there was no clear guide how to revive a patient. I found that many people have similar issue so when I finally managed to resurrect my K6000 with original stock ROM I decided to share my solution.
Here's the fix:
1. Google for 'Techprolonged MediaTek MT65xx USB VCOM Drivers'. Using the guide you will find install MediaTek DA USB VCOM Port Drivers via Device Manager (step 5). Do this even if you already previously installed MediaTek USB VCOM Drivers. This is very important to install this DA version of drivers, otherwise you may have problems with uploading stock ROM via SP Flash Tool.
2. Install SP Flash Tool if you don't have it yet. You can find it easily with google.
3. Download original stock K6000 Plus ROM V6.0. You can find it easily on needrom website (NOTE: you have to create an account on needrom if you don't have it yet). Unpack it.
4. Launch SP Flash Tool, go to Options->Option... in Connection settings change USB speed to Full speed and Battery to with battery. Close Option window.
5. In SP Flash Tool go to Download tab, click on choose right next to Scatter-loading file field, navigate to the folder where you unpacked previously downloaded stock K6000 Plus ROM V6.0. Open MT6750_Android_scatter.txt file.
6. In open menu choose Download Only if it's not selected by default. All fields below should have tick enabled. I mean for 'preloader', for 'recovery', etc...
7. Unplug your phone from PC if it's connected. Shut down your phone by clicking and holding for approx 10 secs ALL THREE BUTTONS: VOL UP + VOL DOWN + POWER. If you do this properly, your phone should not self-boot into Orange State anymore.
8. In SP Flash Tool click Download icon (the one with green arrow), all the fields should become inactive.
9. Using one hand only click and hold at the same time VOL UP + POWER button.
10. Now, while you still hold these buttons, you have to connect your phone to PC (plug in micro USB cable into your phone). VERY IMPORTANT: If you have STATUS_BROM_CMD_SEND_DA_FAIL (0xC0060003) error after you connect it means you don't have DA version of MediaTek driver properly installed (step no. 1).
11. Your phone should start to flash up and you should see the progress in SP Flash Tool status bar. You can release VOL UP and POWER button now. The process may take long time, for me it was more than 1 hour. The longest part was flashing up the [system]. The good thing is you can observe the progress during whole process.
12. When flashing process is end you will see a small window with the information about completion. Now you can unplug your phone, and launch it with POWER button. You should still see the Orange State message but right after that your phone should boot up into normal mode with freshly uploaded original stock ROM. Congratulations!
Hopefully this will also fix your K6000 Plus and maybe even other models.
I'm really sorry I don't provide any direct links, but I haven't posted 10 posts yet and my XDA account is still limited.

Slavedriver
Please help I have error 4032 (BROM ERROR S_FT_ENABLE_DRAM_FAIL)
1. Google for 'Techprolonged MediaTek MT65xx USB VCOM Drivers'. Using the guide you will find install MediaTek DA USB VCOM Port Drivers via Device Manager (step 5). this should solve that
STATUS_BROM_CMD_SEND_DA_FAIL
persists even after installing correct drivers?
Solution: Choose
Download Agent as DA-PL in SP flash tools. And follow the same guide.
Thank you so much for this post, just saved an Oukitel K6000 Plus. Just finished process, rebooting normally for first use. It's been stressfull hours, what a relieve.

I thought I put my phone in the trash when I read this.
But in point 9 I had to push only the VOL UP if I press the two buttons, the AP returns an error.
You saved mine as well, slavedriver!
And it is a Teclast Tpad A10S!
I had given it up.
Thanks a lot!
It works also on U20 plus. I had to select DA_SWSEC as Download Agent. Thank you so much!
Guide worked Perfectly for me.
My mobile was bricked in the same Bootloop. The guide worked perfectly for me. Thanks a lot for useful and detailed help.
I understand this thread is almost 1 year old. I tried this procedure and everything went well. The only problem the phone does not boot. It does turn on but nothing comes up. No boot menu no logo just a few flickering lights and a very dark background. Does anyone have any ideas?
