What is your prefered screen size?
In my opinion 3.8 is perfect. I like 3.7 but the problem is that it is not as wide as the 3.5 screens on the garminphone, iphone, huwai ascend, and that's the only thing I don't like about 3.7 screens and the new motorolla cliq too its ridiculously long and thin, I did a side to side comparisom and it is less wider than the 3.7 inch screen on my G2 but a little bit longer. It was a dissappointment the cliq 2 of course why would they make the screen less wide that makes no sense to me anybody else feels like this about 3.7 screens?
The 3.8 on the mytouch 4G is wider than the 3.5 screens we know on the phones I mention and I like that. Btw I think they could've squeezed a 3.8 on the G2 at the size it is, that's one of the things I love about the G2, the size overall is nice.

3.7" is the best size for me (at least from what I tried, it depends on the size of your hand, I don't realy own a touchscreen device currently, tried friends').
The width of the screen is affected by the ratio, there are wide screens, 4:3 screens etc.

4.5" , but 4.3" is minimum , anything else is unmanly and is a toy phone
3.7" is good -- i find much bigger than that ends up being too big for a phone..
4 inches is definitely the minimum; I have tried an iphone but it just isn't the same.

I measured them, the iphone and huwai ascend, screen is 1.94 inch wide, the 3.7 on the G2 is 1.90 wide, also I notice the cliq 2 screen is longer and less wide than the G2 screen being the same size. I prefer wider screen than longer, don't get me wrong I'm good with the 3.7 inch its not that big of a deal

I've tried a few, and I think 4 is the best for me. Anything too much bigger starts to get clunky.

I like the 4" screens on the Captivate and stuff, but even a GOOD 3.5" like on the iPhone 4 is a great screen, and likewise, the 4.3" and 4.5" screen are tempting. I do think once you go above 4" it's harder to keep a phone from being a big ugly brick (think Droid X) but I'm looking forward to seeing what Samsung does with the 4.5" Super AMOLED Plus. That promises to be a nice screen - none of the PenTile checker boarding, really thin, Samsung's great at design. Too bad they're so bad at the updates thing...

trust me I doubt most phones would come out 4.3, it seems 3.7-4" its getting to be the rule now most phones launching are withing that range I doubt the new sidekick will be anything bigger than 3.7 lol some sidekick feens are actually I would say dreaming about the sidekick having a 4.3" screen imagine a screen that big flipping how big the phone gonna be lol. And the samsung 4G as we already know is 4". I also think 4 is nice but they have to do it like they did it with the motorolla defy waterproof the phone is incredibly small much smaller than the G2 with a nice 3.7 screen. I think they could've squeezed in a 3.8 in the G2 and could've made it smaller. I mean just look at the garminphone it is ridiculously and unnecesarily huge for a 3.5 screen. Just the front is about 55% screen and 45% buttons.

I like amoled screen after seeing the Nexus One vs the HD2's but I would prefer it being the size of the HD2's. The screen on a phone that size is a gigantic plus of the HD2. I also like the 4gb internal memory and micro sd card feature.
Good looking phone. My hope is the HD2 can be upgraded to WM7 so I can have a honest choice when my wallet catches up to my desires.

Since the HD2's biggest statement is its screen size, I would not call anything an upgraded HD2 if it has anything less than a 4.3" screen.

I read somewhere that the screen of HD2 is capable of displaying 16 million colors but is limited to 65K because of WM 6.5. If this is true, we should be able to get 'near Amoled' experience with HD2 running WinMo 7.

Hardly. You won't even get close to OLED black levels on the HD2 screen, nor will you get the kind of smoothness of motion and lack of blur/judder that an OLED display gives you, nor will you get the major battery-life-extending benefits of OLED.
Even if the HD2's display is theoretically capable of >65k colours, it quite possibly still can't do 24-bit colour - most phone LCD displays are only 18-bit.
On the other hand, thus far most OLED screens seem to deliberately over-saturate the colours. My HD2's white point is a bit pushed to blue, but otherwise the colours are quite accurate. OLED sunlight readability is also often poor (although it has to be said the HD2's is pretty bad because the screen is so glossy).
Heh, well, the AMOLED display saturation is somehow superior in some images and it's not good while exposet at sunlight, but the battery life of an AMOLED screen device is really, REALLY SUPERIOR, because AMOLED simply powers down the pixel if it is pure black and it consumes less power because it plays on the voltage/amperage of an AMOLED pixel for "colouring" it.
Anyway, I'm just happy with my HTC HD2 and with his pretty BIG screen.... we can only wait and see if WM7 will use 24bit colors with the HD2's screen!
...I think the battery (1230 mAh) is not enough for this specs.
the obsession is just another device from htc coming after hd2 doesnot mean it is an upgrade to hd2 if it was we would consider td2 as an upgrade to blackstone
and upgrade means huge different in specifications (like between hd1 and hd2 so the 64 mb more ram is not a really upgrade as they have the same processor running at 1gz )

Whatever devices come out next, I`m hoping they will have a TV out (or even HDMI).
It would be great, to have a mobile film player wherever we go ( for the kids of course), but also would not have to remote desktop using a tiny screen.

It's being released awfully late if it's an upgrade to the TD2; the TD2 launched last April, but the Obsession isn't out till October - HTC doesn't usually leave that long between refreshes. And from a 3.2" screen to 3.7" is quite a jump, especially bearing in mind that the TD2 was positioned specifically as a smaller and lighter equivalent of the Touch HD and TP2.
Still, I agree that the consensus does seem to be that it's a Diamond 2 replacement (possibly originally intended to ship earlier but delayed by the late arrival of WM7).
Any news up on this? Waiting for snapdragon WM6.5 phone with no giant screen to replace my Diamond1.

I've seen many phone screens but so far the sharpest crisper phone screen I've seen is the sidekick lx 09, followed by the iphone 4 and the tmobile G2 and the nexus one. The reason for being that the sidekick has 854 x 480 resolution in a 3.2" screen.
The iphone has a 640 x 960 resolution in a 3.5" screen about the same resolution but the sidekick has more pixels per inches because its a smaller screen than the iphone.
Tmobile G2 and the nexus one with a 480 x 800 resolution are the sharpest screens I've seen after the sidekick lx 09 and iphone 4.

Really? The G2 and Nexus one? Yeesh... First would have to be iphone 4 though the screens too tiny for my taste. From there I'd say the Samsung Focus, then the Dell Venue Pro, from there it's all downhill... I don't think android really shows the beauty of a screen properly or I'd put the Galaxy S line somewhere on there... probably along-side the focus.

Galaxy s phone screens aren't shraper than the G2, they have less pixels per inches, and I don't like the super amoled either. And have you seen the sidekick lx 09? Its belive to be rank as the sharpest screen in the world because is so small and has so many pixels per inches. The screen is ****in gorgeous, iphone 4 is nice too

Just got a Desire Z/G2 today. Don't really notice the screen compared to the HD2 with the same resolution on a .6" bigger screen.

PPI is no big deal to me especially considering the difference in screen size and the fact that nothing looks sharp on an HTC LCD screen. The lx 09 I guess has a decent screen but for a tiny non-touchscreen screen that doesnt really mean much... iPhone 4 has an awesome display, just too small a phone and too ugly a UI for me...

Super lcd has is the sharpest after retina display on touchscreen phones, the super amoled isn't as sharp as the G2's screen. And to add that the colors on the super amoled look over saturated no natural colors, only thing the super amoled got on the super lcd is the blacks lol the only thing super amoled got better than lcds. I don't understand what yu mean by that htc screens aren't sharp?

The no natural colors argument is an excuse for lack of quality. The vibrancy of AMOLED and SAMOLED looks much more natural than the washed out colors of HTCs LCD screens... If by sharp you mean PPI then I'm sure I could get a phone with a 3 inch screen that owned any of those... However for all visual purposes AMOLED looks best with SAMOLED in a close second (SAMOLED puts a blue hue on white colors that I dislike) then in distant last is LCD screens. I'm watching the same show same episode of smallville on an HD7, a Dell Venue Pro, and a Samsung Focus right now. The Focus and the DVP are right on par with each other, the HD7 is trailing... I mean the Focus has 223 PPI which unless you're holding the phone less than a foot from your face is hardly discernible and the DVP is at 228, again barely discernible. There really isnt much difference between that and the 256 of the g2 and with that you sacrifice screen size and get caught on an LCD screen... no thanks.

I was talking about the super amoled which you agree sucks with white colors, and not only that but it has a greenish tinge on yellows that looks very unatural, I haven't seen an amoled screen, I only seen OLED and SAMOLED, my cousin got the epic and super LCD has way more natural colors, look at the youtube video comparison and you'll see what I'm talking about and remember to YOU it looks better than SLCD not to me, it all depends on what looks better to you I personally don't think colors are washed out like you claim on SLCDs, however I think colors are over saturated on SAMOLED. Thank god htc can't implement SAMOLED displays on htc devices hopefully they'll keep SLCD since samsung is the only one that makes SAMOLED

What phone do you have? And which screen you like better SAMOLED or SLCD?, and listen some might think Samoled has better colors but who cares IMO, and probably yours too, SAMOLED is does not have better colors, we all have different taste and opinions, and SLCD out of all I've seen is the best, its natural in colors, reds doesn't look like. Orange or like they're bleeding and yellows don't look greenish, it is very sharp and has great brightness, if it only had the blacks the SAMOLED has it would be the perfect screen, but still I could give two cents for how black are the blacks.

I agree that it looks pretty nice... I personally prefer AMOLED over the alternatives Super LCD included. SAMOLED is a little out there but I'll take that over devices with the basic LCD screen that most devices are still harboring. I mean all in all it's not a huge difference between most devices but AMOLED and things like that... they just appeal more to me. The colors even though they can be almost cartoony are still visually enthralling. AMOLED is good, Super LCD would take second, from there I'd say amoled, oled, then LCD. Pixel density is hardly visible to the naked eye so as long as it's not just terrible it's all about the type of screen... this is all just my opinion though.

OLED looks good now that I like look at youtube videos OLED is kinda nice, colors aren't that oversaturated and blacks are blacks

I understand, you like more vibrant colors while I like more neutral not that vibrant or not washed out, we all have different taste so we can't say one is better than the other because its all base looks and on opinions. Just like some people like strawberries some don't lol

Agreed, I think my distaste for the washed out colors is because a heavy portion of Windows Phone 7 is black and blacks are not too good on LCD screens as you mentioned earlier.
I like Super Amoled actually, nevertheless, I will wait for WP 7 phones from Nokia.
They will throw the Clear Black Displays in them, I reckon. And the clear black displays were proven to be the best in a GSM Arena review.
BTW, I don't like Nokia, but I always go for the best.

Smart phones have kind of always gone back and fourth. Iphone came out with and still has the 3.5" screen, the Pre has I believe either a 3" or 3.1" screen, the Galaxy Spica and Moment both have 3.2" screens also like the Dream and the Magic, the droid is 3.5", 3.7" I think? The Evo is 4.3", and the Galaxy S is 4". My touch 4g is 3.8" also. I don't think the screen size will really go up, but I think we'll have an average on all the phone sizes soon, such as 3.5" or lower for the low end market, between 3.5" and 4" for the mid and some high market, and anything higher than that would be high end.

Since my HD2 broke a few weeks ago I am looking for a new phone. I wanted to buy a GSII or HTC Sensation but after hearing about HTC's One line I decided I could wait another month.
Now I am considering both the One S and the One X.
My thoughts about these phones:
I do not really care about the processor as long as the phone runs smooth, I expect them both to be fine at this point
The lack of a SD-card slot doesn't really bother me as well
A non-removable battery will be something I have to live with
Now the real differences to me are:
Size/form: The one S looks like a way better sized to me. I doubt I could like a phone beyond ~4.5". I also think the black ceramic looks really beautiful. The One X looks good as well, but the vulcano-shaped camera is just ugly to me.
Costs: the One S is a bit cheaper
Display: reading the reviews I think it's easy to conclude the One X is definitely way ahead of the One S
Now my question: Is the qHD Super Amoled Pentile display on the One S really that bad? Sure it might not look good when viewing at 15cm distance. But that won't be the way I will be using the phone. I read about the Galaxy Nexus and the Nexus One having a PenTile Amoled screen as well. Though a lot of people complain about the Nexus One, I do not hear that much complains about the Galaxy Nexus' screen. Is this due to the higher resolution?
How would the One S' display look compared to, say, the HD2 800x480 WVGA display?
Can't wait to test them in real life!
Advantages of qHD Pentile SAMOLED:
- Excellent contrast
- True Black
- Colors that pop out of the screen
- In 4.3" is a decent PPI but not best, meaning it will sharp but it could be better (coming from HD2 you shouldn't notice that much difference unless you compare it side by side with a higher resolution screen)
- Longer battery life IF using a lot of black (which ICS uses, but webpages don't)
Disadvantages:
- Not so sharp text (because of Pentile Matrix and not so high resolution combined)
- "Dirty Whites", no matter how well calibrated is the screen white is one of the colors that usually suffer more with Pentile Amoled screens
- Shorter battery life IF surfing the web a lot or using applications with predominant white color
- Poor outdoor performance in shiny days compared with many LCD screens
I'm sure I'm missing some others, but that pretty much sum the pros and cons of SAMOLED screens with Pentile.
And you're right about Galaxy Nexus screen, the only advantage that alleviates the sharpness problem is the higher PPI, but even so the problems are there just less noticeable.
Compared to the HD2s 64K only colors screen I think you will be delighted with any of the newer screens, pentile or not.
I had an Amoled Desire and indeed the pentile layout is a little less sharp but it didn't bother me at all and I will be happily buying a One-S when it becomes available.
You should see what people say about the Droid Razor because that has a qhd samoled pentile screen. Check reviews and stuff, from what I read (very little) the screen isn't that great according to theverge and engadget, but go check it out at the Verizon store and you will have a good idea of how the screen will look. IMO its just a small "issue" because the rest of it is pretty bad ass.

Yeah, I have a friend who has the RAZR and the screen is pretty shoddy. Its not so much the sharpness, but it has a really strong blue tint if you look at it even slightly tilted. Its not even a tint, white turns into blue. Not sure if that just came from a bad batch but if that's the screen that the One S will have I have to be a bit concerned.
My Vibrant has a slight blue tint as well but its not nearly as strong. If the One S has a screen closer to the Vibrant than the RAZR then it's perfectly fine.

I, really like a sharper, higher resolution screen. I kinda get annoyed when text gets blurred. Yet if it is only really noticeable when taking a closer look I won't mind.. The colored white is something I am a bit worried about though. I quite like the more saturated colors.
I think we can conclude that I (we) will just have to wait to see the device in real life. As long as it does not bother me when watching from a little distance I guess I will take it! Apart from the screen the specs are great and it just looks very very nice..

The weight and thinness of the One S was nice, though - didn't expect it to be so light/slim
The Screen seems to be that same like the one in the motorola razzr. I did have the razzr for a few days and i can tell that i didnt like it. Colors were not accurate and in some circumstanced it looked really really bad (red backgroud with text on it)

I think that this may be a Motorola thing. I had a look at a Droid 3 yesterday and despite it being qHD, it was noticeably more pixelated than my Vibrant at WVGA. I barely notice the pixelation on my phone unless I really look for it. Does Samsung provide these screens? Maybe they're sabotaging their competitors?

You'll never notice a difference between two small screens from a far distance, remember you use a phone very close to your face, and even then not everybody see things in the same way and some people claim not being able to notice the pentile pixelation (others like me see it).
For me the pentile SAMOLED is good if not the best... I have a Galaxy S and I found the screen to be pretty good(Was using LCD droid before).. Anyways gsmarena reported the pentile screen of the One S to be better than earlier pentile screens.They said HTC used some of its tech on the screen resulting in better pentile SAMOLED.. Btw am also planning to buy the One S .. Very disappointed by Samsung support.

Yeah it's kinda weird how everyone is really positive about the One S' screen. It sounds like it has the same screen as the razzr, and a lot of people complain about Motorola's screen.
Anyway, maybe they improved the PenTile performances. We'll see soon enough!
I think Motorola just does a poor job calibrating their screens. I have no problem with the Pentile screen on the Vibrant. Its obviously no retina display but it's very sharp considering the screen size and resolution.
The only thing that sort of bugs me about the screen is how saturated everything is. Some people like that but I would prefer more natural tones. This is just personal preference though.
As an owner of AMOLED desire, i can say that its the best! It depends a lot on when and where you use your phone most. For me, thats in office and in my room at night.
Especially in a dark room, nothing can compare to the infinite contrast and excellent blacks of SAMOLED screens. Also very good for showing pictures to others, as they appear vibrant.
I guess my 2nd preference would be the IPS display from LG (like the one on Optimus 2X).
One VERY annoying aspect of SuperAMOLED is the burn in and wear.
I had an SGS before and the black statusbar got burned into the screen after 3-4 months of use.
It won't go away no matter what and it gets super annoying when holding the phone in landscape and watching video.
The wearing of the screen makes the colors less vibrant and not as bright.
I did love AMOLED before it burned in but after that I couldn't take it anymore so I got a sensation and passed my SGS down to my little sister.
I'm not sure that is normal.. though all screens can get some degree of burn in, it shouldn't be permanent.
Could be just a bad phone?
Both me and wife have amoled phones (me desire, her sgs) and don't notice any Burn in.

I have a one s and my wife also, no issues with screen this is now my 9th HTC and clarity and colours are fine, you'd have to be very picky to complain that its not up to the job. This is one cracking phone, i'm sure i'll find some bugs but for now its great.

I am thinking about both One X and One S, but screen is really important for me, because I had iPhone 4S for more than a month and can say, that I see so many pixels now So the question is, can you see pixels on One S screen? Is it sharp and clear?
CES brought with it a few good contenders in the 5-inch phone battle. Only a month ago, the Butterfly/Droid DNA from HTC was the only game in town. In the next couple months, the Sony Xperia Z, Oppo Find 5, ZTE Grand S, and Huawei Ascend D2 will be popping their heads up for your consideration. MWC might even bring more 5 inch goodness, but any phones announced then will still be a ways off. The rumored 5 inch Galaxy S4 is still a good half a year away also.
The 5 inch size seems to fit the bill very well between a manageable and pocketable phone and one that is too big to use and impairs walking. It fits my requirements perfectly. I've owned a Galaxy Note that's 5.3" before and the 80+mm width and 140+mm height was cumbersome and bulky for me. However, the Galaxy S III at 4.8" was almost imperceptible in my pocket and very easy to hold. Most of the 5 inch phones currently releasing are about the same size, especially those with onscreen buttons. Some like the Xperia ZL are even smaller.
Here's a rundown on my thoughts of the current crop:
Xperia Z: The sides and power button are stylish. It's thin at under 8mm. The back is too plain and that plainless allows fingerprints to shine very easily and nastily. Front is pretty generic. The screen seems to be a bigger version of the Xperia S/T screen. That is, the viewing angles and color aren't the greatest. The 13MP camera seems to take great low light shots with very little noise, and the HDR video is also stellar. Sound capture could use some tweaking. IT's also water/dust resistant, but that doesn't factor much into my decision.
Xperia ZL: The internals and screen are identical to the Z, however Sony tried to squeeze the dimensions a bit and the height and width is actually smaller than a Galaxy S III. The thickness, however, is less impressive. There is a godawful butt flap on the back, especially noticeable on the white one. The textured black one is too Samsung-ish and cheap looking to me. The lower right front facing camera, similar to the one on the Nokia N9, also drives me nuts because I always notice it. Not on my shortlist.
Oppo Find 5: This is the one I'm enamored with. I've always liked the way the Xperia Arc looked, minus the cheap looking plastics. This one is matte and soft touch instead. It is sleeker and more streamlined than the curvaceous and fluffier, less hardy looking One X and Droid DNA polycarbonate shells. The screen is supposedly the same one as the Droid DNA, which is the best 5" 1080p on the market. The camera is also 13MP and possibly has HDR video and a 120fps mode. This phone already has a release date of 1/29 in China, with many more countries following after. Most important of all, it's been stated that they will sell it unlocked in the US for $500 online. Hassle-free. Close to release and fully unlocked are big pros in my book. The name Oppo is also very endearing.
Huawei Ascend D2: Probably the ugliest and most generic of the lot. The front seems identical to the Galaxy S II from 2011, and the back is just cheap shiny plastic with generic budget phone design. There's also an iffy homemade SoC inside. The screen might be the same as the Droid DNA/Find 5 however. There is also a sizeable 3000mah battery.
ZTE Grand S: The design looks a lot like the HTC One series. At 6.9mm, it is also the thinnest. The screen seems to have varying opinions. Some say it is good. Others say it is washed out with poor colors. The only thing I can gather from the videos is that the default brightness isn't very high and it always looks rather dim. The large raised dais that the camera sits within doesn't look very elegant. It is a fingerprint magnet and contrast sharply with the matte of the rest of the phone.
Droid DNA: This one is actually out and available. I don't know about the Butterfly or international variants, but it is on Verizon in the US and can be easily unlocked for GSM networks. It has the best 5" 1080p screen in the market, and the colors are not overly warm like the One X. It also has the same fluffy pillow look of the One X, but with some fun red stripes on the sides. It is quite light for its size, but on the thicker side for modern smartphones. There is a woefully small battery. The camera is a transplant from the older One X, and is only 8MP compared to the other 13MP shooters. The quality is decent, but it tends to be overly dark and oversharpened. The video capture is also not very good.
at some point phones can get too big. I have fairly big hands, but still I do not want to be stretching out my thumbs every time I need to click the back button.

in my opinion, 5" is the ideal size, any bigger than that, the phone would be hard to handle as a phone atleast for people like me.
i have my fingers crossed for my next BIG phone , already expecting a Nexus-4 soon, and hopefully get a HTC Butterfyl or Xperia-Z soon.

But serious I'm also an owner of rather big hands and I think I could handle a 5" phone, especially if it had a 1080p display.
it is good if phone has 5 inch screen display but phone should be comfortable in hands, now a days most of the mobile companies trying to launch big screen phone because big screen phone are very famous in youngsters.
I would choose the Sony ZL from that list for these reasons:
-Smallest surface for a 5 inch phone (for now)
-On screen buttons, very modable like Nexus devices once rooted
-Sony UI are lighter and more tolerable to me than sense and even touchwiz
-The camera, sound quality and durability should be good to excellent which is a trend with Sony devices from what I see, quite important factors
-It has removable storage which the DNA does not, this is a big deal for a 1080p device. They go hand in hand.
-It have bigger battery capacity than the Z and DNA.
-Base on so spec charts, it is 3G pentaband, a huge plus, you can bring it to any GSM carrier in the world. With LTE too.
If you read the spec charts, the DNA and ZL thickness is .1mm apart, if that is enough of a concern than you deserve the 11gb storage space and overpriced CDMA contract. Though the Z is 2mm thinner, it is 8.4mm longer with big empty space below the screen.
But probably I won't buy it due to the price and my preference of Nexus devices.

bigger screen is better to use, but the issue is the pocketable size, I m a guy and i dont carry a purse with me.... if u put a 5" in ur front pocket, its hard to bend or kneel down, and u risk sitting on the phone if u put it on ur rear pocket, especially for those who wear tight jeans
i guess its fine if u use a purse or a belt hanger or clothing with big pockets
5.0 Screens
I was concerned my 4.3 inch screen would be too large, not so. Now with the bevels disappearing a 5.0 inch screen is workable for an average sized hand. The long term issue for all this larger screens with all the added functionality is going to be battery life. Sony's White Magic integrated white pixels into the screen to help reduce battery consumption, not sure if it did. They are also introducing a new deep sleep mode that is suppose to reduce battery drain, further. I think the Sony Z and ZL are extremely nice. I have an Xperia Arc S, but we will have to see what Google's X phone is...
It could be a leap in development and one would assume it is a 5.0 screen.
As you see everyone have own opinion. I think 4.5-4.7" is max size. So it's good when we have many option to choose.

Phew! I have a phone so small that the resolution is cut off sometimes when I play a game. 5 inches would be massive thing to handle casually, and I like to be able to handle my phone from hand to hand easily. Not giving it a death grip afraid it'll be too big for my hands!

For some people 5" might be/seem to big, why is it too big? Most people use both hands when they operate their phones anyways.
And the important thing I was talking about is:
The eyes!
The bigger the screen, the less eye problems you'll have once you become older.
So think about it, don't just think in the now, but also try to think about your own future.:good:

Most? Perhaps. Certainly not everyone. I use my phone with one hand most of the time.
I really only use it with both hands when playing games or writing a really long SMS. And that's not even certain.
Playing Puzzle or rotation games(Like Mega Jump) is easier with just one hand.
I could not for the life of me want to drop your bag or tossing your smoke just cause you have to answer a call. 2 Hand phones really should be a hassle.
I will wait abit till theres a durable, fast speed 4.5" (maximum) phone.
For years everything has gotten smaller I think making them bigger is really a step backwards.

Well I'm only 19. When I'm 80 with eye problems (which probably by then has a magic cure), Phones probably wont even have screens or some crazy stuff.
I like the 5-inch phones, but I am just worried where I am supposed to keep them since they will barely fit in my pocket. I currently own a Galaxy S3 and I have trouble keeping that in my pocket. I'll have to purchase custom pants if I want to get a 5-inch phone
I think 5" is really the acceptable limit. Anything over that would be too uncomfortable to use as a phone.
It'd make more sense to get a tablet if you need anything bigger.
After using the Note 2 for a while, the biggest thing I don't like is the fact that I don't want a smaller screen for my next phone. I have average sized hands and don't find it cumbersome hardly at all. 5 inches would be the smallest id consider. The DNA is certainly a lot easier to manage though. 5 inches would be the minimum for me and 5.5 the max. I will say that I've lost count of how many times I've dropped the Note 2 on my face when laying down
