[Q] How Do You Clear Voicemail Notification? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Orange UK does not let you listen to new VM until you have created a personalised greeting. A real problem if you are traveling...
So I finally create a greeting and listen to VM, but notification still there 3 days later. Rubbish.

I'm also on orange. Voicemail notifications kept appearing for me until I would delete the voicemails. Then no more notifications. Not ideal, but eh.

it's been asked so many times by now that any of the regulars here in the forum know it by heart. please use the search next time. there are 2 other dedicated threads to this as well as it being mentioned in about 4 others.
Wow, wish I would've known this sooner. When I got my phone on Wed I had the same issue. Did a Google search and nothing. Ended up calling myself and leaving a voicemail. It cleared it afterwards.

i dont have this setting on my phone !!!
you can click on voicemail notification and hear the voicemail ??
i have to call my mailbox to listen to them ???
how can i set this up ???
It should be the 4th item, Settings > Call > Clear voicemail notification.
If not then call your phone and leave a voicemail. And then after you get the notification listen to it from your phone and it should remove the icon.
Being able to turn off the voicemail notification is one of the things about cm7 I miss the most. Seems like I always have a new voicemail notification, but no voicemail.
With Orange UK, this happened to me once in a while with a lot of phones.
The solution was to call the CS centre, and ask them to "reset my mailbox".
THis would clear the problem up in a few mins.

FB Notifications Problem

I am having problems with the Facebook notifications. I can not receive any of them. Its the ROM issue, because my wife can receive notifications and her phone is not even rooted. Anyone having the same problem or know how to troubleshoot?

Its not a rom issue...if you've never signed into Facebook on a blackberry, notifications will not work! Sign onto a blackberry and you will start getting them on your android...idk why it works but it does

I don't have a blackberry

I just downloaded FB for the hell of it - have you gone into facebook > settings and checked "Notifications' active, then down to 'Notification ringtone' and set a tone? It was defaulted to 'Silent' on my phone.
Yeah all those are good. I just can't get the notifications on the status bar

retracted.
If u can find someone with Facebook on a blackberry, just log on and then sign off...ur notification will magically start appearing

Would u guys know anything about fonts?

@nativesmiley: Facebook push notifications will work where they show in status bar.
Here is what I did that eventually got it working -
Logged into FB on computer - In 'Account Settings' > 'Mobile Settings' - I activated my phone number.
In FB app on phone - went to Settings > 'Refresh interval' - Set it to 'Never' and Notifications set to 'Active'.
Clicked the three bars in top left corner, scrolled down to the bottom, click 'Account'. Then 'Account settings'. Then 'Security'. Enabled 'Email Login Notifications'.
You should compare these settings to your wife's phone.
I am also on Valhalla Black.

How to stop notification sound when receiving a text

Hello,
My phone is on a montioring system that sends me a text when a system is having a problem. I need the alarm to be long and loud so I am positive to hear it even if sleeping. My problem is when I get one I want it to automatically stop making noise if I pick up my phone, sweep the screen saver or anything that indicates I'm going to look at the message.
How do I stop the text notification noise if I'm actually looking at my phone?
Thanks

Thanks -no app - just native text messaging notification. I changed the default sound for text messages to a long loud notifications so I respond to emergency texts. I just want to be able to quickly shut them off when I get them.

I don't know if this works for text messages but have you tried the 'turn over to mute' in motion settings? it works great for incoming phone calls.

Missed Call Notifications are Haunting Me

Hi all.
I am on the Embryo ROM which is awesome.
One problem I started having after flashing though is that I cannot clear Missed Call Notifications.
They pop up in the notifications bar and whether I hit the clear icon, or whether I hit the missed calls, they dont go away.
They will disappear for a few hours but then I will get a new Missed Call notification at some point, and its now up to something like 20-30 Missed Calls.
It used to be that a call would pop up as Missed in my notification and I could click on it to dial. Now when I click it takes me into my Dialer app (DialerEx)...but nothing I do seems to remove them from the notification queue.
Any advice please?
It is probably DialerEx causing the issue. Uninstall it and then reinstall it and see if that helps.

it didn't fix it for me, I ended up with a fresh install, but it's worth trying, easier for op instead of new flash

Not always getting notifications!!

Hey there,
So I don't always message people, but when I do I rarely get notified they replies. This mainly occurs in Hangouts and Facebook Messenger. What happens is I will message someone, close the messaging app, lock the screen and wait for my led notification light to alert me that I have a reply. But every now and then I don't!!! I currently run the Paranoid Android Beat4.
Thanks in Advance

I have also the same problem with all the apps that send notifications....fb,fb messenger,g+ and tapatalk...fb and fb messenger sometimes send notifications...g+ and tapatalk almost never....
When I wake up in the morning I have to manually check my messages and gmail because sometime through the night the notifcations disappear. It could be something crashes during the night, because I know I am reaching onto my desk from my bed to clear the notification but leave it unread.
Same here. I made a post referring to the phone sleeping through notifications. Seems it can happen with any notification but mostly I notice it with Hangouts.
I have a feeling this issue is what many people are actually referring to when they say their notification LED doesn't always work. Except the sound doesn't play either.
