[Q] A game like Tower Trap? - Android Apps and Games

As I mentioned in the previous thread, I play a lot of tower defence games. But there is one that I really miss from my S60 era, called Tower Trap.
I have come to understand that there is no Android port of this game, but maybe you can tell me which existing Android game is most like it? I love the simple graphics and the pulse quake towers!
Thanks.

Whoa... now Great Little War Game really is Xperia PLAY Optimized!

There always has been prior mentions that GLWG sorta worked with Xperia PLAY's d-pad. This update makes it official though! Shows up in the Game Launcher and everything!
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.rubicon.dev.glwg
CURRENT VERSION: 1.1.1
What's in this version:
1. Point release with additional support for Xperia PLAY devices.
2. Changed description text for Standard Campaign
3. Added support for Vizio tablets and all devices with Marvell chipsets.
Xperia PLAY's game support just looks more and more awesome by the moment.
The game is a direct rip off of advance wars for GBA
if you never played it I suggest checking it out.
Tho I'm really not mad because I like both versions / both spins on it.
Xperia Play optimized? Sorry but this "optimization" is a total joke...
You still have to use touchscreen to move your units, camera moves horribly when pressing dpad (left arrow to move camera to the bottom right?? WTF?!). You can just zoom in and out with triangle and square and can rotate the camera with the triggers...
Surely "great work" in optimizing this game -.-
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
a lil bit old news, this is optimized already even in 1.1 version, romcio is right this is much playable if you will use touchscreen..
d-pad mapping is just sick as hell
not worth the "Xperia PLAY Optimized" tag
great game though

The [console name] Wars strategy series has been long-running in Japan, though our first taste came on the GBA. In fact, the developer (Nintendo's own Intelligent Systems) is also responsible for the very similar Fire Emblem turn-based strategy RPG series and everything from Final Fantasy Tactics to Front Mission is based on those. They both started in the 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System/Nintendo Famicom days! Anyway, my point is that nearly any turn based strategy game is inspired by the Wars series and nearly any SRPG is inspired from the Fire Emblem series.
Even when they are late to the party, like they were when they made their Real-Time Strategy games Pikmin and Pikmin 2, there were others blatantly "inspired" by them, like Code Masters' Overlord and Overlord II.

I would say those games you mention are similar to advance wars
with advance wars you start with some money and build a unit to attack the other team
you have fog of war usually to make the game scary when playing with your mates on a train ride
1 person would get the device. make a new unit and move it
then pass it to their mate and they would do the same thing
till eventually you would run up on them and have a full on war
it was a crazy game
and this great little war is basicly using the whole same template with fog of war and money and units, even the grid system.
so ya i would say advance war is a pioneer in that respect
being able to play with ya mates on a train passing the device back and forth

[FANMADE GAME] Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes

Hey there fellow Xplay enthusiasts! Just wanted to let you all know (if you didn't know already) of a FAN MADE sequel to Chrono Trigger. The wiki entry states that the game takes place 5 years after the events of Chrono Trigger, uses the exact same game engine, has all the same characters from the original, and it sets up plot points from Chrono Cross.
I was baffled when I saw all this! I've played a few hours of the game and I can safely tell you it is truly incredible, especially for a fan made game. Now I don't know if I can post the link since it's an unofficial game and all, but just search for "Chrono Trigger crimson echoes 100%" on google and you'll find it no problem. It runs with SNES9X without issue (so far)! I'm amazed that this exists, it's been my favorite game since I was 9 years old and someone actually took the time to write a brilliantly thought out sequel that makes sense! If you're a fan of either Chrono game, do yourself the biggest favor ever and check this out!:good:
Isn't it just a hack of the original Chrono Trigger so of course it runs on emulators
Like every SNES hack would.
Take the Zelda 3 hack too (Parallel worlds)
or any SMW hack.

[GAME][FREE][2.3.1+] Epic Ball Game: Space Soccer. Air hockey is dead?

Hi all!
This is confusing but there are many air hockey games out there that were rather popular a couple of years ago. Since then the mobile game market evolved so much! There are full-scale AAA games comparable to their PC analogs sharing top 10 positions with very simple games like Subway Surfers where you only need to swipe left-right and top-bottom. Following that logic there still has to be a place for air hockey games, which fall in-between.
As a gamer myself I found rather boring lots of classic air hockeys where you cannot touch a puck directly with your finger. In addition, I thought that it might become entertaining to have different tricks and weapons to avoid monotonous puck back and forth movements. Next, I wanted to replace a puck to something more interesting… maybe a ball? Finally, I wanted to play this game with my friends and with pretty anybody in the world… at least in the radius with affordable network latency. And there should be a possibility to easily invite players to combat with me. Oh, one more thing! While I am offline or just want to master my game skill, I want to see somebody. A paddle? No, it’s boring! Let it be some strange lively creature! And with all this stuff in mind a new game arrived just today to see the world – meet the Epic Ball Game: Space Soccer!
Since this forum is full of interesting people I wish to hear your opinion about this game – does it have a future?

[Game][2.3+][Free] Apollo Fights Back!

Good Day folks here at XDA Devs!
Today Im here to kind of show our first released game: Apollo Fights Back!
We are a little 2-man group named Black Wing Games, which developed said game in our free time. The game is a Runner-style Arcade piece where the goal is to set a highscore and build a Spaceship by buying the parts one by one.
As extras, we added Shooting Zombies and a few other Space-like events (say, Meteor Showers and Aliens for instance), which actually make the game feel more lively Also, the addition of a specific goal makes it stand out from the many other simple runners .
I'll not stall you with my talk, so let's run a video wich will explain most of the basics:
Hope you enjoy it and if possible, review it Thanks!

Bump ^^
Reminds me of Nintendo games back in 90s+flappy bird physics . Not bad for the first time I believe, taking into account the fact that the game was developed during your free time.
The most important part here is that the game has an idea in the ground. Good start!
