[Q] Newb, sorry ahead of time - Palm Treo 750

I have had my treo 750 for only 4 years or so, lately it's been freezing up while texting, it also takes a while for the time to adjust when I wake up the screen, and finally the screen, once in a while, will go squirrelly after a soft reset, kinda diagonal?? You can still make out the picture but it's seriously distorted. I've spent a couple late nights on here trying to download different things but I am a little overwhelmed. I'm lost amid hard spl's, and rom's.
I didn't realize how attached to this phone I have become and I cant afford another smart phone right now.
If someone could point me in the right direction, I would be so grateful. If it means the phone is dead, so be it. I hate to give up on it. Please advise, and thanks, what an interesting site.

Can anyone advise me if this phone is done or worth working on?

Date and time changing continously-Imate Ultimate 6150

Hi,
I have an Imate Ultimate 6150 WM 6.1 and recently a weird problem started with this. The time on my mobile is continously moving forward. I.e. every 1-2 seconds it jumps forward by 8-10 hours and its keeps doing that. Which means in few minutes it moves forward by few days and in a day it moves forward by years. This has left my device of very little use since it always show the wrong date and time which is somewhere far in the future.
Even when the device is off, the time keeps moving forward fast and when I turn it back on after few minutes it has gone ahead by few days or so.
I have tried soft reset, hard reset and even installed new 6.1 ROM available from the manufacturer, but nothing is fixing the problem.
Can someone advice what may be going wrong here and what can I do to fix this. Is this a Windows software issue or a hardware problem, just not sure what's happening.
Thanks and appreciate any help in this regard.

urgent help needed :(

ive had a Fuze for almost a year now and i really like the phone. the other day something went wrong on the phone and the screen just simply wont work. its black no matter what. the phone actually does come on because it vibrates when i turn it on after taking battery in/out. i can even answer phone calls and adjust volume with side buttons and everything. its just the screen that does not work.
i called the warranty place and they send me a new Fuze which is good, but im a bit scared sending this one back to them (which i have to do within the next 5 days). will they find out the original Hard SPL and ROM is not loaded onto the phone? i had a custom ROM on there and im afraid they might discover this and charge me a ridiculous amount of money for my new phone. does anyone have any insight about this or what i should do?
Please do not double post

Totally bricked Nokia 6680?

After about 2 years of it being in my draw, I just came across my old Nokia 6680, I tried to turn it on but it didnt work, so I tried charging ect and all that stuff and I cant get it to turn on, so I am under the impression that it is in some way bricked, I though I would just send it off to envirfone for a little bit of cash (better than sittin the cupboard right?) but if they got it working agian I would be most displeased as personal stuff may be on there, has anyone got any insight into getting it to turn on or performing some sort of hard reset somehow? thanks

Soft Bricked my G1

Hello.
I have been browsing the forums here and doing searched and reading some helpful information but long story short....
I have managed to soft brick my G1. I can power the phone on but I am frozen at the Tmobile G1 splash screen. I do not have a card reader and I have no idea how to use the adb.
Can anyone simply the method of resolving this issue? I would greatly appreciate it and would be forever in your debt.
-Thank you
well, it sound like you may have a little more than a soft brick...
try starting it while holding down HOME. this should boot into recovery. if it does not, then it sould like you have a real brick. i did that to a g1 once, it involved flashing *danger spl*.
if you do indeed have a real brick, there is some hope, but not much. search around the g1 forum for the jtag threads. there are some people working on it, and it sounds like someone may have figured it out, but it's a VERY technical solution requiring taking the phone apart and attaching it to your computer via a special cable.
good luck
if you're in need of a replacement phone, i've found craigslist to be an excellent resource. i've bought 2 phones on there in the last week. a cliq for $100 and a mytouch 1.0 for $85 both in VERY good condition.
Thanks for the reply. I've already been browsing around craigslist hah.
Going to do some much reading, reading and more reading then writing up a good plan before I try this again if at all.
I jumped in with both feet without the necessary research and it bit me in the ass .

Newby: What to do if...

Hi all and thx in advance for your time.
In different situation I found myself dealing with non-responding phones. Sometimes completely black, other repeating the brand logo animation screen on and on...
I dont know is at this stage it would make much of a difference if you are dealing with a Nokia or a Samsung, so with Windows O.S. or Andriod one. In case you'd tell me...
My basic question is: which are the rule of thumb for a standard functionality check-up.
What I mean is...which are the basic steps you'd follow through to try and understand what the issue could be, before you actually open the phone itself and take a look inside. I'd like to know from the outside point of view, step by step, what procedures is it correct and complete to follow before having to look into the phone, and therefore deducting that it's some sort of hardware issue.
And...are there any timings? Few times I heard of devices which were completely dead and after a couple of days, just trying to put it on for fun...it finally worked! I mean...do these devices have some sort of timing management or not?
I'm sorry...I know it's noob and maybe it's not the right place, in case mods please kindly move it...but I find that many...too many nowadays, when the phone freezes with black non responding screen...the owner seems to freeze as well! Or they panic and go mad about loosing their contacts or their mail or appointments...
Mobile phones are so diffused today that everyone should know the few, basic steps to follow when and if they face a soft brick or a hard brick of their mobile phone.
