I asked this thread on reddit, didn't have much luck, thought maybe someone here would know.
I've got a 2.1 GT-i9000m (Vibrant) and a 2.2 Tab, both under Bell.
The GT-i9000m has black menus with white text, the Tab has white menus with black text, is there any setting I can change without root, or flashing, to change this?
This is really the only issue I've got with my tab.
Thanks for reading.

What are you saying? That you want black menus with white text on your tab?
As far as I'm aware you can't change that without rooting, it's part of the frameworks.
As alias said, its not possible without rooting, unless Samsung change it themselves and push an update for it.
well guys, seen this theme here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1006709
I thought everyone here would like this so i ported it
=======I am not responsible for what you do to your phone. You have been warned=======
-----------Must be on EC10 PnP 0.3 for this to work-----------
report any errors to me and ill get them fixed...i know i dont have a silent button for the notification bar, ill have 1 soon
Instructions :

wipe dalvik cache
wipe battery stats
flash in CWM
Reboot...wait 28 years for it to boot

all credit goes to those stated in the link where i got this theme from...all i did was port it to the mesmerize
Download Link : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CUEEDRUM
Fixed the text issue...gray boxes with white text
Looks good so far, but can't read any in-app menus (hit the menu key in email for example) and the default messaging app looks messed up... tried with ec10 pnp rom

ill have to make an edit then...is it all dark or all light...the text?
the text is all black, blends in with the background. In the messaging app, the bubbles aren't quite black, so you can just BARELY see the text. White text in both of these scenarios would make this look just about perfect in my eye.

Same issue still... For example:
1.) Press the "Menu" soft key (from a home screen)
2.) Press the "More" option
Can't view text
Also, in notifications, it's white text on a gray background. Any possibility of making the text a little more visible?

It's all covered in this reference; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831715
For the secondary menu i'ts under "expanded.menu" or something like that, for some reason that one won't work if called with @/color so what you actually need is the original code that was there (something like "?SmallTextInverse", and just remove the "inverse" from the end, and that will change the text color properly.)
For notifications, you'll have to edit XML located within the Layout folder, i'ts listed in that guide too. Let me know if you need help!
love it, but conversations in default messaging app are also difficult to read.

I re-downloaded the file but when applied, messages are still quite dark. Is the file that's online the updated one?

At the bottom of the first post it said updated the text issue, and I thought that was in reference to the text messaging issue. Oh well.

Does anyone know what app in Android market can edit photos with the function of showing one colour in the photo only? for example, if i wan red colour to appear, so only red will show in the photos, the rest will go into black and white...
i tried a few apps, but mostly is using brush to brush the area i want to show colour. I prefer the preset colour to show or only one colour to show..
does anyone know any?

Try Vignette.
Effects/color highlights/London
Black&white with only red showing.
Hope that will do the trick?
thank you so much..i tried vignette.. it got the function i mention.. the app is fine to use.. but result is not so good..any other app? i try find many but all is brush type..
PicSay Pro does this - it calls it Pop Colors. Takes the whole pic back to B/W, then adds colour back in where you select.
i try picsay pro..but it need to paint out the area in order to make the colour come out.. does any other app which only select the preset colour, lets say red, yellow, green, blue, then it will automatic come out those colour? sometimes in one area, it got many colour. so paint out hardly can only make one colour come out.. any other recommendation?

no one know?
I don't know of an photo edit app. But camera 360 has the feature that does exactly what you want.

color splash?
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.colorsplashphoto.android&hl=en
you have to paint it though.
i dont think there are any photo editing app that will eliminate all other color automatically except the one you choose.
I think Camera 360 might be what you are looking for  Try the magic color filter..
I use it on a day to day basis and it's really great app. Since this is my first post, i cannot post a link to google play but search for camera 360 and you'll find it.
Picsart 100% and free!

Tried SwiftKey?
As far as I know, there aren't any options in Swype to properly customise the theme yet. People used to make apk with custom themes for it but I think Swype has disallowed that since the app went retail. Unfortunately you are stuck with the default ones right now.

Sorry for my English
Hi all, i've installed the older app "HTC car" in my htc 12+ to get a connection with my VW infotaiment using mirror link. Now my problem, by starting the app which have a black color GUI can i see a white soft keys instead the black ones.
I remember, some years ago, to to have used the same app with a HTC M9 and the device was able to detect the App color and so adjusted the right color for the soft keys (black).
Which variable uses the soft keys to detect the color of the running app, can i edit the HTC Car app to customize the right color to use?
Thanks in advance
Just use navbar apps

Thx for your feed back wiktor717, but it come to nothing when i have 2 apps for the same issue on my phone, that is the same when somebody install 2 antivirus software on his PC just to be safely.
I only need the name of the ressource which give the used color information to the original soft keys.
Just wait for pie to be released. The nav bar in that update is black.

Mmmm i'm not sure about your statement, do you have a htc u12+ too? If you look the way how the app works, then you can see it assumes the color of the GUI, e.g. if VLC player runs or you are in home windows, the nav bar turns transparent, if you change to Sense then white. may is transparent too when i use Sence or app, but using HTC Car is white and i don't like that
