Does anyone know what is taking Google so long to release the stock images for the Nexus S?

The next google phone will be the first device to have gingerbread and a new set of toolbars and google apps , the galaxy S(captivate) hardware are almost identical
will we see it fully ported to captive in the future/?
I don't think anyone will know for sure until the device is actually released and devs can get their hands on it. But trust me we are all hoping so. If it turns out that things can be easily ported between the Nexus S and Galaxy line of phones it will be HUGE.
Did you even try looking around the forum for other threads on this?

I would love for HTC to make a Nexus phone again but it seems google is only allowing Samsung to make them all now. So I wondering if anyone has heard of HTC adding any Nexus like features to the Sensation or creating a Nexus like phone?
Thanks you.
Chances the next Nexus will be a Motorola if Google go ahead with buying them
I do not think Google will allow Moto to build the next Nexus as they don't seem to have any advantages in hardware. Samsung has the best screens. HTC has the best build quality (which is why I love them).
But if Google own Motorola they can design it anyway way they want
That is true but from what Google said, Moto will be run as a separate company. So I do not think Google at this time cares about the hardware Moto has. Maybe later they will have Moto build android in some of Moto Switches and other equipment but not the phones unless Moto gives them no choice.
At the moment I have an HTC Desire and a Galaxy Nexus.
I love the OS on my Nexus and the extra bits on ICS, but I'm not fussed on the handset. Meanwhile I'm not that interested in Sense, but I love the Sensation as a handset.
What I want is raw ICS on my sensation. I want the ICS web browser and the recent tasks features of ICS on my Sensation.
The camera on my Sensation takes better photos and videos than my Nexus does, but my Nexus can take photos at once and take further photos wirthout any delay. Again, this would be great on the Sensation.
I intend to sell my Galaxy Nexus and stick with my Sensation. I was just wondering if anyone thinks any of the above is possible? Will we ever see a raw ICS ROM for the Sensation and will I get those features??

The port isn't finished, many things won't work correctly till we get ICS source from HTC, or maybe they release ICS early for Rezound or XE.
Here is a fun thought that came across my mind a few days ago while researching Google Nexus Phones. Ever since after Nexus One, which came with Eclair 2.1, Google would launch a new Nexus phone with a new major OS release. They use this device to develop the new OS and test it properly before the ROM and the source codes are released to the public. And since they worked so hard developing it (the OS) for that device they would wanna sell it and make money off of it too. However there was never a Nexus phone for "Froyo". So on which device did they test and develop Froyo on? Coincidentally, LG P500 came out with Froyo. Also, the back of every P500 has Google's trademark "Google" printed on it. Now Google don't let anyone use their trademark for no reason. Could it be that P500 was the phone that Google worked on and tested Froyo with? Could P500 have been the Nexus phone that never was? Maybe Google didn't wanna launch it as Nexus cause it didn't have the High end specs that Nexus phones usually come with. What are your thoughts on it? Share and try to make it fun:silly:....

My friend and I was having a discussion on the Nexus 5 against other smart phones in the current market, and we got on to the discussion on to its features that it has and what other phones don't. I know the nexus 5 was designed with Google in mind but as my friend mentioned I believe you can link your Google up with other phones as well? Or is this Nexus 5 feature? Or are do some features exist on the Nexus 5 that are not available on any other smart phone (android related) through a download?
Cheers

the nexus 5 isnt a phone made for special features to try and sell it. its more or less a developers phone. i guess it has 2 "features" that other android phones dont have. first is hdr+(but other phones have hdr, hdr+ is just better). and the second one is the important one, one that all nexus phones come with that others do not, fastboot oem unlock.

I suppose we can also say Photsphere (although there are other versions of this) and GEL (Even though GPE devices get this).
You also get Android system updates instantly.

Yes and no. Not necessarily for root users. We do see commits fixing bugs in AOSP before a Nexus gets a release. So sure, we get the quickest full releases of official updates but some stuff, aosp users on all devices will get before standard n5 users.
I didn't realise this until recently. There was a bug with the window manager on stock where floating windows would not float over other windows. I moved to aosp to get the fix as i was sick of waiting.
Nexus mainly only gets full version releases 4.4.1, 4.4.2 etc but AOSP gets commits that don't increment the version. One benefit of OEM can be as they release fixes for their crappy frameworks, they can also pull fixes from google whilst we're waiting for a new version

so, it sounds like, most of these "features" of the nexus 5 are more like the benefits of owning a nexus 5
