I recently bought a Kingston 32GB Micro sdCard off a top rated eBay seller.
I have had issues with copying some files to it from my old 8gb card that came on the DZ.
So what I did was put it through the h2testw, with the following results:

Can someone please interpret the results for me in English?
Thanks for your help.
I think you either have a bad or fake card

This should tell you all you should know....
It is well known that the 32GB card from ebay selling for $40 or less are fakes. Usually what they do is re-code a 2GB card to seem like a 32GB card. I tooka risk witha an ebay bid for $20...they were selling like hotcakes with great reputation....soon after the purchase the guy sky rocketed on negative reviews due to the fact that he was not deliivering, and the few were fakes. I am still in dispute wiith the guy and paypal.
In plain English you got ripped off. If you bought it thorugh paypal, file a claim.
Just out of curiosity....what was the seller's name?

I was wishing for the better. Thank you for highlighting the problem for me.
I bought it off Turtle Rock based in the UK, and I paid over £40 pounds through paypal.
I sent the diagnostic test to Kingston Technologies, and have sent a querry for a replacement or a refund through the eBay querry system.
Kingston Tech will be getting back to me with an answer on the genuineness of the card. i now don't expect to hear differently to your response.
Last of all, the card became unreadable on my phone, pc and digital camera.
I shall give the seller/eBay two business days before taking the matter further.
Am now beginning to wonder if eBay is only good for non-tech items like covers and furniture that one can see and assess on first sight.
My last card for my winMo came from Amazon UK. It is a 16GB. I have no problem with it at all.
If its too good to be true, it probably is

turtle_rock_uk have responded to me and advised me to return the defective item for a refund.
I have sent the item via Royal Mail's "Signedfor" route. Since it is weekend, I expect that the item will be with them on Monday.
turtle_rock_uk themselves are toprated sellers, good communicators, and am now waiting to see how quickly they will refund me in order to buy another card, which will hopefully work.
While one can pickup a bargain, I think it is also true that cheap can be expensive. Having paid £49, today I had to spend another £2.10 to send back the item.
I will let you know how we conclude this arrangement.
Where can I find the SD Card diagnostic app? I tried searching for H2Testw in the market, but didn't find it.

It's not on market. You must just google for it. You will get it there.
Hmm...
Anyone know if using a micro SD to SD adapter affects the results?

The best way to verify this yourself is to test say, a genuine SanDisk card after you have tested the one you are not sure about, and see what results you get.
I thought that I should update you on my experience with turtle_rock-uk,
They were very prompt to give me a full refund through paypal.
I am now waiting for the paypal transfer to show on my bank account.
I decide to not order through eBay. Instead I have now placed an order for a sandisk 32gb class 2 card with MobyMemory at a cost of £54.49.
I am hoping they can deliver tomorrow or Saturday.
Cheers.

Before you buy any micro SD cards on eBay, make sure the seller is *not* listed on this website:

or you could just avoid buying flash from ebay all together.
Whatever works.
I was wandering around my hometown yesterday pricing 16GB cards. The cheapest price in a shop was EU80 -- nearly $100.
I believe there are reputable sellers on ebay selling for less than half that.

I got my 16gb card for 2.50$
That's great, but be careful. The biggest scam out there is 2 and 4gb cards programmed to look like 16gb to your operating system. The only way to test them is with a free utility called h2testw.
Hopefully your card is a good one. Mine turned out to be 2gb.

There are a lot of Kingston 32GB microsd cards being sold out of the US via Ebay for $199+, and they're all fake. Only Sandisk have released the 32GB versions.
Be warned..
For those in the US, just buy from Newegg. I got 3 16 GB microSD cards for $41 apiece.
you can also tell by filling up the card
if it doesn't go past 2gb, it's not a 16gb card

I've not touched eBay memory cards since I bought a Sony from a 'trusted' seller. Turned out to be a cheap knock off. I had my money back in a day after suggesting to the seller that I'd be contacting Sony's fraud investigations team if I didn't get prompt action.
Then I contacted them anyway

They "Weren't just Selling them".
Their supplier sent them a batch of fake CPUs. Once new-egg discovered the error, they refunded money and offered discounts and also dropped the supplier.
It was clearly an accident.

wth. You sound like you work for a certain political spin machine.
Clearly, anyone with half a brain, can see that Newegg expediently rectified the situation. If anything, this situation with the bunk processors would put Newegg in an even more trustworthy position than they were prior to this unfortunate incident.
i recommend newegg we have 4 a-data 16gb class 6 cards from them.. work great.. stay away from 16gb sandisk cards.. i have had 5 failures with these (their 8gb cards work fine though)

I bought two Sandisk 16gb Class 6 cards for £40 each from a Asian in Canada. When I received, I benchmarked them & found that they didn't even perform at a class 2 level.
I put on a claim on ebay & contacted seller. The seller said that there are alot of fakes on ebay & that I has sold thousand in his store without any complaints. I got a full refund.
I bought a Genuine Team 16GB Microsd Class 6 from another seller ebay id: taiwanlien. I have benchmarked it and everything.

Just last month, i did bought, a Sandisk 16gb Micro SD card for near 19$USD, it's a level 2 but it works like a charm on my galaxy ,
The attachment below is the flash memory test program eBay recommend. If you have to open a dispute then check the item with the program and tell them you used it and the results. Just save it to desktop no need to install simply double click and extract fom there then double click the program and follow the instructions. Don't forget to plug it into the PC first though with a USB converter.
well, the seller feedback is 100% positive and 494 micro sd 32gb sold until now

MicroSD? Kingston doesn't even manufacture 32Gb MicroSD, their highest so far is 16Gb.
I'm looking to get a new micro sd card, as my 8gb is out of room and frequently unmounts or goes read-only on my mobile. Im wondering where to get one and what kind of 16gb sd card I should get as after looking on ebay its a bit hard to tell what is fake and what isnt and I dont know any other stores that sell them..
Preferably class4+ and size 16gb
I live in australia by the way..

But I think there class 4 cards.
And this is the one thing that I wouldn't trust ebay with because there are so many fakes.

Hi,
I had the same problem with the sporadically unmounts (sometimes several times a day) so I decided to buy a different card. I bought a class 4 Kingston 16GB sdhc on eBay. I paid in Germany about 29 Euro for it.

I'm using a Kingston 16GB class 4 card bought from Amazon, in my honest opinion I think that class 10 is much of a muchness and the price difference can be vast.
I would not buy from Ebay, chances of getting a fake is much higher here, rather use Amazon or some other reputable seller.
What is the cluster size did you format.
I got a few off ebay. They start low, around 1$ and go up, i got one for 11$ before.

I think I got that one - it was labelled as SNC I think - if so I didn't get a shabby speed with it: http://twitpic.com/5695fq
I've had two cards from ebay before and both have gone back corrupt/didn't work in the first place.
bad experiences - even if the seller doesn't know they are dodge - they often are.
Bought one on ebay.. Kingmax 16gb class 10.. will arrive in 7-10 days I assume.. will report the speed too!
I bought a 16GB SanDisk SD Card off eBay last year and it still works perfectly! I can't remember who the seller was but I think they were based in the UK. I bought a 30GB one once stupidly from a Chinese seller that didn't work and I sent it back to him and he disappeared coincidently off the site and I was never to see my €25 again! I don't want to be discriminatory but from personal experience, I'd advise buying off a reputable seller, preferably not based in China. You can get great deals on SD cards on eBay like half the price you'd pay normally but you just need to be careful who you buy from. Basically scammer beware!
got my Kingmax class 10 card few days ago.. did a few sd tool runs.. getting mostly between 8,5 / 11 mb'/s writing speed.. and almost 20 read.. I'm content with it

My Class 6 8GB from ADATA has ~ 8,3MB/s @ write and ~ 23,2MB/s read
In another forum a user bought the "Imation 16GB Class 10" (Check Ebay) and reports the following speeds:
16GB Imation Class10 Read: 18,4MBps και Write: 10,6MBps
with ATTO
Tomorrow I will buy it myself too!
Speed of it is not really impressive...
practically, same like class 8
I put the money in my prepaid and I bought the Imation 16gb class 10 that I mention some posts before.
But I can still cancel the transaction and change it to ADATA, Team Group, Kingmax or TDK.
Which will you choose??
Thanks!
I would presonally never use ebay to buy an sd card
Alot of fakes around .... if it sounds too good to be true - it is
I bought 16gb class10 on ebay, tested it and it is class10
When buying any flash memory from eBay, ALWAYS, and with no exceptions, test it with H2testw in order to detect its real speed and if its capacity is genuine (there are a lot of fakes out there). If H2testw reports something like 50% corrupted data, that means it's fake... and make sure to report such illegal activity.
(By the way, in case that happens and you want your money back, open a paypal claim saying that you did not receive the card. If you claim that you receive it and it's fake, PayPal will tell you to send it back to the seller!! After you get your money back, then just leave negative feedback saying the seller is selling fake stuff)
Also, something like feedbackselector.com can help in identifying fake stuff, but sometimes buyers don't notice and they just give positive feedback
what the correct values of write and read for a class 10 ?
write min. 10MBps, mine is 11MBps, read 15-16MBps
Bought a joyflash 16gb class 10 off fleabay. 1st one got lost over a holiday weekend . Replaced really quickly . Tested it and works fine . Correct read write speed think it was £16.99 or close to that . Seller was based in channel islands .

Don't buy that crap! I bought some cheap SD card from ebay 64GB for like £5 the Read/Write speeds are terrible and the card stopped working after a week! Go with a decent brand such as SanDisk.
I took the plunge before reading this and the reviews for those crappy cards on Amazon. I got a 128GB card for about $15 and it sucks. It shows it's 128GB but when I write anything over about 10 GB's to it the card becomes corrupt and unreadable. I then have to format it in order to use it again.
I'm currently using a 64GB I had laying around (SanDisk). It works great but I may jump on a 128 GB card if/when the price for them drops. A 64 GB card costs 1/4 of the price of a 128 GB card.
That's how they do it

That's because it's actually about an 8-10 GB card that has a label on it saying 128 GB - and a firmware that was hacked to report itself as a 128 GB card. There's tons of those on eBay - don't buy memory cards from eBay! Like everybody says...stick with Amazon. In Western Canada, Memory Express is also fantastic!
Just bought a 32gb card on newegg for 13.99 shipped
Late post, but Adorama and Amazon had the 128gb for $89.99. Amazon still has it for the next 17m.
