Go to your app list, then select menu -> view type -> customizable grid
Then select menu -> edit
You can then long press any icon in the list and drag it to your dock. You can also arrange the app icons in any order you like.

Yep that works. The key is that you need to be in Customizable Grid first, then its fair game to adjust the dock.

Thanks, been wondering where that option was.

Notification Bar Power Control

Are there any apps that allow power control toggles to be placed on the notification bar (when dragged down), such as the one built in on cyanogenmod?
thanks
Maybe you are looking for an app called "quick settings" ??

Its not quite the same, looking for something like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The app Quickdesk is the best solution.
SmartBar
There's a cool app called SmartBar which allows you to place virtually anything you want in the notification drop down bar, including "Quick Settings" which will allow you to toggle many different things on/off.
power control plus
power control plus is specifically for that. it costs 2 bucks.
Widgetsoid. Free in the Market.
This is cyanogen mode, just install some theme with cm settings

Those themes are 2.2 only.

grrr.... can't decide between Widgetsoid or Quickdesk.
Widgetsoid is an notification widget and quickdesk is an additional home screen when you double tap the home button for widgets and apps.

App to call notification bar?

On such a large screen, it is difficult to reach for the notification bar at top. Task switchers like wave launcher and swipepad can be used to set a button in them to call notification bar, but I'm unable to find such an app. (I got home and lock set this way though).
Anyone knows an app that toggles the notification?
I don't know of such an app, but in GO Launcher EX and some other launchers you can set it up so the notification bar drops down when you swipe down anywhere on a home screen. I've been using this on all my Androids and I love it because like you say, it's hard to reach the bar sometimes. If I try a new launcher and it doesn't support this I uninstall it immediately.

I know launchers can do it, but that is when you are at home screen.
However, with swipepad/wave launcher, a shortcut can be assigned to app for notification toggle. I have done that for home and lock buttons, refer to screenshot.

Thanks. Swipepad is now complete, with lock, home, notification and app drawer.
I'm stretching it but is there any way to clear notifications from anywhere other than the notification bar?
One more app: status bar expander
(better icon that hello status bar)

Creating 2x1 text icons?

Hey all! :thumbup:
I've been messing with 'Simple Text' trying to get the look I want here...

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As you can see the text icons are quite small and hard to read. Underneath them are folders obviously. The larger text you can see is a widget created also by Simple Text, but there is no way of linking the widget to folders? Only Apps and Shortcuts...
Anyone know of a better app etc that will allow linking to folders?
Cheers,
Matt.
Edit: I guess I should also mention that I am using Nova Launcher Prime.

did you think about drawing icons by yourself and set them in your homescreen?
Yes I have. But the same problem persists. The icons have a set size, no matter what image is used. I also don't want to change the global icon size via a launcher etc.
The best alternative would be to set custom widgets to folders.

I managed to work it out by using Desktop Visualizer combined with Folder Organizer pro. I used Simple Text to create the text, and save it as a .png image.
Hold the home screen and select widget. Then hit DV and select your widget size. Then it opens the settings for the widget. Set up your icon from whatever you want to use (image etc). Then hit 'Action' and select 'Other' then 'FO Folder Link'.
The rest is pretty straight forward after this.

Modify GEL icon grid without messing up icon placement

As you can see in the screenshot, after modifying the DPI to something more realistic and not comedic, the UI adjusted perfect except it didn't center the all apps icon above the home button. I'm wondering how this could be fixed through maybe a mod or something.
I do not want a new launcher that doesn't have Google Search built in. Its not the same stock experience. Any idea what I should do?

Depends what you are trying to do. Are you trying to get more docked icons at the bottom, or the main grid on the launcher. Basically, what I did is I changed my DPI to 439 (wanted 445, but notifications get cut off in the pulldown bar). This is ideal for me and gives me an app drawer grid of 5x6. However, the launcher grid stayed the same, so I used the Launcher Tweaks settings in Gravity Box to customize the launcher grid to 5x5. Now, I still only have 4 apps in the dock tray on the bottom (plus the app drawer icon in the middle), but I do have a 5x5 grid on the homescreen. It looks like it came from the factory this way.

Feature Request: Screen Capture

I use Pandora radio a lot and when it actually plays a song I like I use the home+power key to save the screens image. I've come to find that is currently not a feature on the omni ROM and would greatly appreciate getting it added in. By the way I'm using sprints galaxy note 2
Thanks in advance
Chris Loving
volume down + power doesn't work for you?
Screenshot and screen record are part of OmniROM already. They can be added to the power-button menu (Settings >Menus), as well as, for example, the long-press Home-button pop-up (Settings > Bars >Quick launch shortcuts)

Hey @jeffsf I dont have the option to use the homebutton to take screenshots I just dont have that option, Do I need to go somewhere else, I am using 4.4.2 on N7100
You should already have it on a brief press of power and volume-down at the same time ("chord"), be able to add it to your long-press-power menu, or to the long-press-home. Unless there is something strange with the Note II, all options should be there for you.
Here's where to get to "Quick launch shortcuts" to set it as one of the long-press-home options.
