[Bootscreen] My first "from scratch" bootscreen - Hero CDMA Themes and Apps

Hey everyone,
well, when I found the thread about the Droid X red-eye bootscreen, and realized nobody had gotten it to work on CM6+, i decided to take a crack at it. it took me all night, but i finally got it figured out, and working great.
when i was done, however, i was somehow upset... i had just taken apart, and put back together, someone else's animation.
this would simply not do. so, i gave it a shot. here's my first attempt at creating a boot animation, from scratch. (minus the 3d android logo, of course):
Code:
NOTE: after the circle completes and the android logo is in full view, the particles continue around the circle ad infinitum until the system boots up all the way. i just didn't want to make this .gif file too big just to show that. =P

it animates just a tad slower on my phone than i would like it to at first, but speeds up after a matter of seconds. i need to learn a little more about creating animations and formatting them to preserve as much quality as i can while taking filesizes down a bit. in any case, hope you like it!

Just tried this... Very cool, my favorite so far

thanks, i'm glad you are enjoying it!
i also wanted to add: if anybody knows precisely why it starts out so slow on the phone, please by all means let me know and if possible, give me suggestions on how to fix that.

Even the CM boot animation starts slow and builds up speed...I think it has to do with background apps starting up

Do you just flash this like a rom or what?

definitely not.. do NOT try to flash this like an update.zip.
check the OP.
Code:
adb remount
adb push /path/to/bootanimation.zip /system/media

Also, with root explorer, just drop the zip into system/media and reboot.

Bacon Boot animation for CM5!!!

This boot animation is my first attempt at anything at all for android phones. It isn't very complicated. It goes well with a Cyanogen Mod for the nexus.
To install it you just connect the phone in debug mode. Start adb. type adb remount. then: adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local (you have to make sure that you type the whole path to where the animation is)
This will make it so the boot image survives through flashing.
What you get is a screen full of Bacon with a Cyan skateboarding android doing flips across the screen.
When you install this, you tell Cyanogen he turned your phone into BACON!
Every time you boot your phone, cause your flashin' it every five minutes, you get to see some succulent, frying BACON!
GET YOU SOME BACON!
(let me know if you hate it or anything)

great idea, but after seeing for the first time, i thought it looked nasty until i could see the bacon!
lol thats awesome, at least its progress. I'll look at it when i get home
I will try to get a video of some actual frying bacon to split up into frames for the boot animation. I did this one at work and was using gimp to edit the photos of the bacon. I could find a good video of bacon to use anyway. When I find one I will boost it up to frying bacon.
up close and personal with the vagino-bacon!

awesome I will see what I can do with it this weekend! I will try to have a live frying bacon boot screen up by monday!
I have a boot-"animation" i hacked together I hacked together a couple of weeks ago. Just a still image, but looks nice I think...

Feel free to work with it. Thought of adding some animated text, but never got to it...

Disgusting for vegans.
Not only for vegans..
looks disgusting to me too
Haha, when i originally saw this I was going to post that it was nasty, but thought better of it - now that I feel comfortable:
I just threw up a little bit in my mouth.
You should make the bacon a little crispier.
thanks for that. I was wondering where the boot animation lived. in the rom it is in system/media but whenever I pushed my version there it broke it .

Ok So everyone thinks the close up bacon is disgusting. I kinda agree. It was sort of a joke, but I am going to post a new one with "live" cooking bacon this afternoon.
Maybe it will go over better!

[REQ] tweak to disable vibration on start up

search for sometime now, could not find any leads that may shed light to this
anyone out there? I'll try searching for it in the registry, if only i know where to start
First off, I don't know why you'd even ask for this. It's a tiny burst of vibration that happens only once when you power up the device, and that's it. There's no harm in it and I can't see a genuine reason for wanting it gone since it happens so rarley.
Secondly, you can't get rid of it. It's part of the self-diagnostic that runs when you switch on the device. If you did find a way to stop it (and I'm 99.9999999999999999999% sure you won't) then the phone would probably think there was a problem and not boot.
You're gonna have to live with it mate.

ahhh. . . so cute it neh?? can i cuddle him/her?
ssshh. . . spamming
I was also looking for a solution to this problem.
You asked, why one should wish to deactivate this little vibration on startup...well, quite simple:
My HD2 performs its system backups every night, while it is in its cradle beside my bed. I am using SPB Backup which does a warm reset after finishing its operation. It's really not very funny to wake up every night, only because there is this "little" vibration during the boot up process.
If you are a user of a genuine HTC ROM, there is even an additional little melody playing after vibrating, which is still more uncomfortable! Only for this reason, I just reflashed my HTC ROM back to a Vodafone ROM (which only has the vibration).
I think, it would really be a good idea, If someone found a tweak to suppress the boot up vibration!

I really like it so far. Can't wait til the Thunderbolt launcher is working too!!
thanks, i started working on that but the main thing im trying to fix is the white font on white background, i cant find anyone to tell me which file it is, after i can fix that ill finish theme.
I can't remember the exact file but its in resources.arsc. looks great so far. I would recommend cleaning up the frame work. You have 137 battery images. Looks like an Evo or Inc themes battery.

Ya i took this from my other theme i was trying to get single percent battery decided i would just take out the one needed for now

[BOOTANIMATION] Android Emulator Style

Hello everyone,
A few weeks ago, after using the Android Emulator for the first time I wondered how the built-in boot animation would look on the phone itself. Quick search showed no-one had bothered.
I didn't keep it as my "daily driver" but since I went to the trouble of capturing the animation and editing it into something usable, I thought some people here might like it nonetheless.
Enjoy,
Darkshado

this likes good
Actually, this animation came with my G1 back in the day in one of the stock ROMs. I wanna say 1.6 is when they started using this animation. I prefer the old 1.5 version tho
With all the flashy, complex ones people throw around, it's kinda nice to have a simple straightforward one for a change.
Not trying to be the bad guy but; most android devices actually "fall-back" to this if you delete or rename /system/media/bootanimation.zip (verified on thunderbolt and xoom) The only thing missing the the initial "ANDROID" at the top. Deleting it actually can speed up your boot times and makes your system take up less space because there are no added files.
Nice..just what I was looking for
Actually, its already built into This App (there's a free version with it as well). But this seems like a much cleaner way of doing it.
Its a good idea. My Acer a500 came with iit out of the box. Imagine that. A public product running honeycomb 3.0 with the stock android boot animation!

original video was a stop animtion, so i had to slow down the frame rate and save each image, then photoshop and align it correctly. maybe someone can mess with the timing in the desc.txt file cuz it seems a bit off. Ill probably go back and try some other variables as well.
Yh ill have a quick go later wen I get home easier on pc instead of doin it on device

What is that launcher you have?! where everything app is a word? Is it also possible to post that wallpaper you have of her?
Like the BootAnimation just think it's going a lil bit too fast. but nice job!
its not a launcher.... its actually just an icon editor called simple text or something like that... u can use it with different launchers... i know for sure adw works with it.
Soz for my ignorance, but how do i install this?
I tryed installing it with clockwork, but it failed with an error
