Tegra Gingerbread GAPPS - G Tablet General

http://goo-inside.me/gapps/
gapps for cyanogen mod are stored here... while updating my evos cm6wimax alpha2 gapps i noticed some signed gapps there designed for gingerbread and aimed at tegra devices! this is prob just a gapps pkg for the lg device or moto with tegra2 chipset.
maybe something for the brave to look into

[Q] [Recovery] Nightly Updates?

Literally as the title says...
I use/test/take advantage of the nightly builds for CyanogenMod ClockWorkMod (now on 4.0.1.5) for my HTC Hero and did as well for my HTC HD2, however I cannot seem to find any for the Transformer!
I know for some the backup/recovery doesnt work, but thats what Nightly's are for, to TEST these things... well on the flip side, ill admit i dont use backup/recovery but I do utilize the new package structure for zip package install's...
BUT still, does anyone maintain a DropBox or personal FTP for CM CWM Nightly builds? (the HD2 has a nightly build repo, and the Hero has a personal nightly FTP repo)
Thanks...
Nothing like this on honeycomb.

There's no CM for the TF or HC in general, and probably won't beany time soon unless Google release
the source

if thats so... how is it possible that CWM 3.x is available? thats kinda... impossible... imho...
yep, unless i am reading this incorrectly..
https://github.com/Roach2010/android_bootable_recovery/commits/
thats Roach2010's github and its mingled with the CM CWM...
gonna go ask in his thread since it will probably get a more direct answer!
Kane did he reply yet... I am also interested...

ICS? I thought it was IBS.
I don't flame and usually stay out of wrong section arguments but come on. This isn't development related at all! Now let me get back to ripping apart this SDK image
An SDK isn't the same as the open source for the entire OS.
This only allows devs to update/create apps for ICS, not rebuild the entire OS for other devices.
cough so who gonnna develop this for us? now we on topic gimme ics or ima screammmmmm
Yes but from the SDK you can set up an ICS emulator and extract the files from the system image. People do quicky ports from this in the past just to show a device can run the new OS, but to build a fully functional OS you need the source to be posted.
If you already have the SDK installed just update the packages. No reason to install again.

Get to work devs... make it happen for us if possible
The devs don't have to get to work. Try saying words like please. Their time is valuable.

No source = no ports, rumours say source will be published right after the nexus prime release, by dec.

Those were my thoughts exactly.
Personally if I couldn't help in an objective I wouldn't demand it to be done for me.
I would imagine GB drivers are compatible for the ICS for backward compatibility (mesh phones and tablets). It wouldn't make sense to require new drivers when the goal is to mesh.
If that's the case, CM7 might just convert over relatively easy. I'm sure there are gonna be issues and they may be forced to wait until the Galaxy S upgrades.

That'd be amazing, and I see how that would be a smart choice by Google.
If that's the case though, why wouldn't be able to just take bits and pieces of ICS and make a fully working ROM? If the drivers are the same.
I mean from what I understand the drivers are the only real challenge (and other minor issues), from what I can see for my G-Tablet and Honeycomb..

One really has to wonder why. GB is old news. Why put developer's time and energy into updating something no one cares about? Focus on CM9!

Maybe because some phone supported by CM7 might not get ICS.

This phone can run CM9 w/ no problems. Feb has proven that to us. It's going to go to a 4.0 Source code drop of this phone, or the DHD to get it before we see a stable build for it.
This is pretty exciting news imo. Any indication the CM team hasn't forgotten about our device, the better. I am curious about getting into the nightly routine but I have really liked using TDJs KANG when I use CM. Mostly because I almost always get better battery life on his kernels.
On that note, does anyone know where to download the Darkside X kernel he packaged with the 7.2 KANG? The kernel thread he links to only has 12 and 12.5. I can't find it in the my touch forums for the life of me. The only similarly named thing is in his new Samsung device forums but it clearly states in that thread that he compiled it from Samsung code so that can't be the same one he bundled with our KANG can it?
I supposed a more experienced user or amateur dev can extract the kernel from the KANG and make a flashable version so I can use it with the nightlies; but I would never ask for such a thing.........

I think they didn't want to just throw away CM 7.2 before jumping into CM 9. Plus there are certain things that don't work, such as the camera, that I don't think the CM team would push out a build without things like that working at all. I doubt we'll see a stable release before HTC drops any ICS source code.

Nope, nothing resembling a kernel named Darkside X for glacier. Doesn't seem like anything on there was updated in the past 2 months though.
There are 3 possibilities I see as to an explanation.
1 - the kernel is 12.5 with almost nothing different. Enough to warrant a different version title but not enough to establish hosting it as it's own new thing.
2 - it's the Samsung kernel and it's compatible with the mytouch (doesn't seem likely but his kernels have magically been cross-compatible before [g2] so who knows).
3 - it's a current version but mislabeled. That seems so unlikely from what I know of this dev that I won't even entertain such an idea.
I haven't noticed a world of a difference from this "darkside x" kernel versus the kind of performance I got on the 12.5 so I will just pretend the darkside x is some anomaly and be more than happy with using 12.5.
CM9 is way to far from a lot of devices, only devices getting official nightlys are the nexus phones (crespo, toro and the new galaxy nexus ) thats why they are developing cm7, cyanogenmod needs to re-write all the code becuse google makes a lot of changes in ICS

[Q] miui rom for p6200?

hi there..
just a noob question, will there be a miui roms for tab 7+ P6200? since i thought those roms are awesome..
Heeeeeeeeee hehe it should be AMAZING you're right I personally guess it shouldn't be too hard to build, but we have few devs right now and aorth is already working on the CM9 which supposed to be wonderful too.
I read once talking about the P6200 MIUI in its Italian channel on nexuslab but I think we're still far away from it
Let's hope dude I'd just like it too on my own p6200

In order to properly have MIUI, we must have CM9 first. Why? MIUI is based off of CM.
That being said, once we have CM9 fully (or close to) being a Daily Driver, someone can easily port over MIUI using a lot of the CM9 components and merging them with MIUI bits.
Atleast that's how it happened on my Epic 4G

CM and MIUI are both AOSP ROMs and you need an AOSP kernel in order to get them to work properly. You could get it ported over right now but nothing would work, same as with the CM9 builds we already have, so really I see no point in doing it except as a proof of concept or work in progress type ROM. The few devs we have are all working hard on CM9 but it's slow going without having all the needed hardware drivers that Samsung won't release. Once that is done MIUI won't be far behind.
we have very few developers for now, and there are some major issues such as the wireless.. until that issues are resolved, i don't think we want to split tasks or add more task for the developers. We need at least one working custom kernel first for use as a basis. That is a much higher priority now.

[INFO][ROM]CM10.1 official

CM10.1 official
for p3100
P3110
CM10.1 also provides more ram to end user.so if you are trying linux on android this is the rom should try.
I still imagining no OC kernel for 10.1 yet correct?
Why oc when its damn fast?
what gaps shoul i install?
Gapps link
http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip
it is based on 4.2.1 no?
Has multiuser and is very fast. The only issue is that camera doesn't work "Gallery has crashed". Used the provided rom and gapps.
Forgive me if I am wrong..but... Is there any need for this thread seeing as the Official 10.1 thread is now active??
You shouldn't have made this thread.
I reported it so it should be closed soon.
