I am planning on buying a replacement case for the S710 (scratched screen and keyboard) and was wondering if anyone knows how to properly take one of these apart? I checked the Wiki's and did a search, but nothing came up. If anyone has taken one of these apart, or knows where there's a how-to, please let me know. Thanks!

Leo and I are still around.
We both still have our Unis, Leo has been on the Kaiser forum for a while as well as Polaris.
I now have a Raphael as my main PDA (but still have my trusted Uni, Kaiser, Alpine, Blue Angel, Charmer, Wizard, Himalaya and Wallaby........... I've been here too long)
Leo is looking for a new device again, but can not decide yet which one to get.
I doubt either of us will be doing anything more for the Uni.
I had toyed with the idea of doing another (Final) release before my departure from the forum, but just haven't had the time. Things are so busy at work and with my preparations for emigrating to sunny Florida, that I just haven't had the time to work on anything (not even my Raphael, which I desperately want/need to do)
Perhaps, if I ever get some spare time, I'll do another release for the Uni.
Tomal seems to be taking care of everyones needs here though and his work is very good too.
I'll see what I can do, I haven't forgotten you guys over here, and stay in touch with all the posts on the forum.
I should really send my Uni off for a mem upgrade (been meaning too for ages, just never got round to it)
If any of you guys are after another release for the Uni from Leo and I, or just one of us (not sure I could convince Leo to take his Uni back out of the bottom drawer........or get off the Kaiser forum for a minute) then let us know and I'll do my best to put some time aside for a new release for you all.

You may ask, I was a very long way down the road towards the ultimate goal on that one, just didn't have the time to finish.
Maybe it would be a worthy goal to finish this final task for everyone here...............

Its a something and nothing is video call, I have it on my Athena and I have NEVER used it. Its just because its not there I think, kind of why I update to a better model. however I did like your style of roms very much, a final would be very welcome sometime.

I'm totally confused as to what my next device will be....the raphael doesnt have uni's cool form factor and the screen size is too small, of course not to mention the tinier keys without an OK button ;-/
The touch HD is great, but i'm hoping there would be a touch HD pro with a keyboard!
X1 - no numbers row, useless.
So, its my trusted uni which continues to be my current device! So yea beasty & Leo, another rom will sure get my (and many of us here!) spirits up once again!

Not necessarily. In the UK there are a lot of complaints that people with Vodafone branded Sensations have got their latest update before people who bought sim free unlocked versions.

Hence why I added 'lol jk' (jk=joke) to the end.
Also mine is not sim free or unlocked but it is an unbranded phone like the sim free versions so I'm also affected by this. My network is actually Talk Mobile not Vodafone but I picked Vodafone anyway because Talk Mobile run off the Vodafone network. But my phone does not have any Vodafone branding and does not have Vodafone updates, it has HTC updates.

Now that is an interesting point. I got my phone deal via buymobilephones.net and it included the Sensation and an O2 contract. However the only thing from O2 inside the box was an O2 Sim, all the rest was HTC. And there is no O2 branding on the phone, no O2 splash screens and no O2 specific apps.
So is mine and O2 phone or an unbranded phone? Anybody here know how to spot a UK O2 phone? My software version says 1.35.401.1.

Either I don't get it or it's the dumbest thread I saw lately not that we lack them here lately anyway

99% an unbranded phone. I got mine off a similar website and mine indeed was just the phone and a sim pack. Also my website advertised the phone as unlocked (sim). Therefore if there's not sim lock... well doesn't really make sense branding it. Talk Mobile probably aren't large enough a carrier to bother with branded updates etc like this, although O2 would be. But yeah I expect you have unbranded too.

Problems with our two DAPENG A7

(sorry for my english, it's not my first language)
We bought two Dapeng A7 from mobiles-phones.cn last month. both of them failed within a month !! The first one had video bugs and could not take phtos and videos anymore (cost 26€ to return it back)
The second one has no more microphone and needs an earphone to work !!
A friend of mine just received the DAPENG A75 last week and has a flash LED problem.
So, take care with these Dapeng products wich are not reliable (we had a chinese H7300 wich was very good) at all. Don't hesitate talking about chinese phones troubles on this forum, it could be good for someone hesitating to order over there.

Dapeng a75 is a great phone it is hard to believe nobody root yet ! I am waiting for advice how to root.

Unfortunately Dapang the A75 and Phone Chinese in general, are boycotted by the developer of firmware mod... :/ So we did it seems no right to superb advantage of "Mod ROM" ....

Just to let everyone know, I had the Dapeng A7 and after 2 days, the screen had a dead pixel and one of the lights on the 4 menu buttons had burned out. Dapeng is junk and please avoid at all costs!

please help me to root DAPENG A75, i don't find anything on net

Problems with DAPENG A75
I bought a DAPENG A75 from Androidforcheap.com, the battery connector on the phone failed after two days use, after I sent a photo of the connector to Androidforcheap they said to send it back, it cost me $19.5 to send it by post Androidforcheap say they never received it. So I am out of pocket by £129 plus postage back to China. I tried to get a refund through Paypal as I wrongly assumed that I would be safe as the company had the Paypal logo and I paid through Paypal, but Paypal said that the company was not under Protection. So I have lost all my money and both the Chinese supplier and phone supplier have lost nothing,
So stupidly I bought another DAPENG A75 thinking that it had just been bad luck, as when the phone had worked for the two days, it was very good, this time on Ebay from Phoneboard , this had an overheating battery, intermittent data lead scratched and damaged screen protector, the flash on the camera does not allow me to take photos at night, it is not bright enough, Phoneboard said that a software upgrade would be available at the end of September, they agreed to send replacements for the defective parts early in August, it is now well over a month with nothing arriving. I will wait and see.
So the end result is I have lost one phone with no recompense whatsoever and have a partially working phone, after the first phone return to China and total loss I will be very reluctant to do it again, at least I have one partially working phone, that is better than no phone at all.
If you think I may have mishandled the phones I should point out I was a fully trained British government approved aircraft electronics technician before early retirement to France.
So be very very careful China is a long way away.
