[Q] please help with slyvania 7" android 2.1 tablet - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

I have the slyvania 7" android 2.1 tablet..........Ok i see universal androot has worked on this device. Where is a link or instructions please. Second question if i root is that like unlocking a windows mobile device. And if so can you use a rom update utility to flash a new os say like cyanogen running android 2.2 with flash is this possible. I have unlocked and flashed phones before windows mobile i would think the same principals would apply here since its a similar device can any one help me? I know that on the htc touch pros you can download haret for android 2.2 and use gen y dual boot loader. Cant something like that also be placed on this there has to be a way even if you root and someone has the galaxy tab image that could be flashed on so full 2.2 and flash 10.1 and official android market. And those haret files have a working google market..

[Q] Ouku Horizon update

Hello all.
I have a Ouku Horizon (p801w) bought through Lichtinthebox.com
I am very happy but I would like a other version of Android.
I'm no expert on this, so I ask your help.
Now I have:
Android 2.2.2

Kernel 2.6.35.7 root @ scm-Perf # 3
Build number FRG83g
software version iris_p801w_V1.21
Hardware version IRIS_MP
I would like Gingerbread, but a newer version of Froyo is also good.

I was wondering if I can install any other ROM on a zeepad that I have. The current one has had issues from the start and I tried to update from the zeepad website and it basically bricked the device. So I would like to see if there's an android image I can put on there that's comparable and basically let's the device function again. Any suggestions?

A Custom ROM for 'Moorefield' (Dell Venue 8 7840)

First let me say; I am not a developer. I do not work in the software industry and I have no experience writing code. At home I do run a dual boot system (Kubuntu 20 & Windows10) and I have previously successfully installed LineageOS on a couple of older devices (a Dell Streak 7, Samsung Galaxy S4 and more recently a Nokia 6.2). So, I have a rough idea on how to accomplish an install if there's a clear path toward the goal lol.
I have a (rooted, unlocked) Dell Venue 8 7840 running Android 5.1 and I'd like to see if I can load a custom ROM to update to maybe Android 7. I realize a 5 year old tablet (with Intel Atom Z3580/2.3 GHz quad-core) won't likely be capable of running anything as recent as even Android 10. But this device seems to be a unicorn of sorts. That is, I can find no mention of codename 'moorefield' on any developer message board threads.
How can I support development of a custom ROM for my device? I have used ADB before and can provide copies of any files that might be needed for creation of so-called "proprietary blobs". I find it confusing and misleading that; in order to build a custom ROM someone needs to have previously written one for you device.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can proceed?
I have the same device and the same questions. Everytime I go to get rid of the device I pick it up and fall in love with it again. I still haven;t found a device that is better weight and size wise. I would love to use for a different purpose but Anroid 5.1 holds it back.
How did u rooted the device
