WebSharing app = awesome! - Droid Incredible Themes and Apps

Just wanted to share. I decided to pay for the WebSharing pro since I've gotten tired of all this usb mounting error garbage. Its AMAZING. Works fast and simple over wifi or 3G. I may never use a usb cable again. TWO THUMBS UP!

Add adb wireless to the mix, and you really don't need the cable. Now if only they had some sort of wireless charging...

Dropbox seems to work well for, in regards to sharing documents between my phone and pc.

I was really wanting this until about a week ago when I realized. Hey I enjoy using my phone while it charges and not just have it sitting on a mat mostly unusable.

May I suggest an ftp server, like swiftp (free).
Websharing compare to an ftp server is like comparing the flintstone to the jetson.

+3 i use dropbox for all my mod downloads.... db plus bit.ly address shrinker... awesome. keeps track of how many downloads, were they are downloaded from, and even what country they are being downloaded from. pretty cool!

Guess I didn't describe it enough. Its not really just a drag and drop like Dropbox. Its a wireless file explorer. Think: AndExplorer on your comp only with a windows look

Torrent App

Hello,
Wondering if there is a good torrent app out there. Tried aBTC, but I dislike it, only one torrent at a time, and never finishes
. I'm not looking for one with remote.or anything just an app so I can download torrents directly to my phone.
Sent from my X10a using Tapatalk
I purchase dTor but error for validation, don't buy it.
And there is another torrent app but it's not on the market. It's name is AndTorrent.
You can find it in google code or blapk markek.
But don't instal on 1.6

I bought Swarm from the market. I uploaded a pic of a finished download.
Dont judge me, I've already paid to watch the movie ):

Do you get decent speeds?

You should check out Transdroid and Torrent-fu, both free. I haven't tried them yet but they are supposed to be the best on the market.

Eh. It's okay. Max was 150 which is the most of my connection anyway.

Hey guys. I use torrent_fu works great. Its a manager for your pc at home. So right now I can see how my torrents are going and search for new ones and download. A little config is needed at the start however is worth it. As 4 downloading on your phone I don't think one exists, bandwidth etc... but eventually it'll be good enough

i would be intersted in trying this program if ne 1 has a version for o/s 1.6
I use torrent-fu too.
Brilliant program. Had to do some tinkering on u-torrent at home, but once you have this is ideal.
I setup a webserver and dynamic DNS on my home PC so I didn't have to change the IP address in the app, you can use a webserver and portnumber instead (one setup, then sorted)
Now I can check my downloads from everywhere
(only legal torrents, of course)
I bought Dtor and works like a charm for me.
Sent from my rooted X10a using Tapatalk
BEST ONE FOR DIRECT DOWNLOAD TO PHONE IS "SWARM"
torrent fu only can manage your utorrent or some else on your pc or notebook...
I got Transdroid from here: http://www.callingallgeeks.org/3-free-and-user-friendly-torrent-clients-for-android/
transdroid is prob best easy to use but sum reason all i tried only seem to work when i am connected on wifi?

[Q] Is there a VNC SERVER App for Android so I can control my phone from my Mac?

I know in the past there have been threads on this, but they're all 1-3 years old. What's the best client I can use on my handheld?
I just came from iOS, where I had a client that allowed me to control my iPhone's screen from my computer (MAC), so when I'm sitting at my desk I can send\receive text messages from my phone without having to pick up the phone.
Suggestions?
Thanks!

I think it's actually a VNC SERVER we need... to view your desktop on the phone, you'd install a CLIENT on the Inspire 4G, but to view your Inspire 4G on the desktop, you need a VNC host\SERVER on the inspire.
There's several options on iPhone, and whatever iPhone does, Android does 10x better, so there must be server apps available for Android, I just wish someone would tell me what it's called.

Yeah this is a CLIENT app... in other words, it allows me to control my computer from my phone. I want the other way around. I want to control my PHONE with my computer.
I want to be able to leave my phone in my pocket, VNC into my phone so I can check and reply to a text that comes in from my computer's screen without having to take the phone out of my pocket.
Make sense?

App to control your computer from your phone?

I remember seeing an app where you can actually view your computer's homescreen directly on your phone and control is. What app is this?
Also, do you need to be on the same wifi to control it or could I be away from my house and still control my home computer from my phone?
TeamViewer is your answer.
You can find it in the Market.

Sweet, thanks! How exactly do you set this up? And can you control the computer when you aren't on your home wifi? And does anyone need to be at the computer to "activate" something?
Splashtop hd.. Install app.. Install program on computer connect them up and bobs ya sister lol
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
You go to their website and download the PC or MAC or Linux client. Then you set up an account from the client and make sure under settings you tell it to allow all connections and tweak the settings to your liking.
Then go on your phone, log in to the app, select the computer and boom! Your desktop shows up.
I'm not sure if it works on 3G/4G since I don't have a data plan but its flawless over wifi. Anf it does work outside of your home wifi network.
And no, if you tweak the settings no one has to be at the computer to "activate" it.

very useful.

Transferring photo's to your computer

Wirelessly. What is the fastest way folks have figured out how to do this short of removing the memory card and putting it into your PC?
Tried dropbox....SLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOW
Trying Google Docs Uploading now... SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWW
Tried Sugarsync... SLOOOOOW
Tried emailing ....... Attachments too large....
Seems like Android still hasn't figured out a fast efficient way to get photo's from the phone to your desktop...
sucks.
Plug your phone into your computer and select mass storage on your phone. Then access your phone on your computer and your photos from your camera should be in the DCIM folder.
Try to Google your question and you will find many pages that will help with your problem.

I also use Google + to upload all of my photos to Picasa automatically as they are taken.

thanks anyway.
I also said FASTEST....
Also Google+ limits you to 8 pics...
Also..tried Picassa too... SLOOOOOOOOW
The problem here is that despite having 4G on this thing...photo transfer wirelessly is still obscenely slow.
Selected 10 pics from my gallery to upload to Google Docs at 10:45am......over an hour later and it's just now finishing the 5th photo...

Had you left the "you should try Google first" out of your reply, I would have considered it a fairly friendly/helpful response.
That extra line that you added was unnecessarily snarky. And if you'd bothered to check my history here, you'd have realized i'm no simpleton to how things operate on XDA.

No worries. Same here.
I just get testy with a lot of the "search first" or "google it" replies when a question is asked is all.
Ultimately a healthy message board does require a good dose of civility, and I gotta remember that it's best to respond in a civil manner even if I perceive something to not be civil. My bad.

Much easier than tethering via a cable or pulling out the SD card, and much faster than uploading to Google+, picassa, etc...

What different ways are there to copy folders between two different nexus 5's??

I want to transfer two folders from my SD card download folder on my n5 to my sister's n5..
I tried turning on NFC and touching the phones, but I didn't see any way to transfer the folders.. Same for Bluetooth..

Use Superbeam..
Upload it to an online storage (Google drive, dropbox, box, etc.) and send her a link.
Or there are probably some apps in the play store that will transfer files over WiFi.
Folders and files can't be sent with NFC. It's mainly for smaller things like photos, links and contact info.

Well good luck with that. Depending on how big the files are, you will most likely need some kind of internet. Bluetooth will be slow or have errors.
