[Q] Concerning android phone conferencing - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Whenever I attempt to make a 3 way call and go to dial the number, it instantly cuts the other person off from my voice. Once the EXTRA number is dialing, there is no way to conference it, until the other person picks up or goes to voicemail. I want to fix this. How? I have no idea what I would search for.

[Q] Missed call behavior

I'm new to the android world (just got a Mytouch 4G) and have a vexing issue. I'm a broker and get a lot of calls from random numbers not on my contacts list. The problem is that for missed calls, I call the person back, but the number is still listed on the call log with the missed call. Is there any way to instead have the standard behavior I'd always been used to with older symbian and win-mo phones of automatically clearing the missed call icon when I've called the number back?
Sometimes I have a lot of calls to make and can't get to missed calls until after making those other calls... now when I see a missed call, I have to look through all the numbers I've recently dialed to make sure I haven't already called them back. Am I just missing something, or is there a way to get the desired behavior?

[Q] google voice - easy way to dial a number with it?

I don't like the current options you get with the google voice app. 99% of the time i dont need to make a call with google voice, so getting prompted every time i make a call asking me if i want to make the call with voice or not is annoying.
What i would like is a one click way of dialing a number with google voice when i need to. Maybe a shortcut on one of the desktop - click it, it gives me the same basic interface i have now when dialing a number, and it just dials with my voice number.
Any way to do that? It's kind of dumb that even within the voice app itself, you can't just say 'call a number'. I have to go into the settings and switch it back to asking me, and then when i am done, go back and switch it back to do not ask.

[Q] APP REQUEST - Ignore call after 2 or 3 rings

I have been searching all morning and can not find an app to do this.
I want my phone to effectively hit the ignore button after a user defined amount of rings. (I realize this would be rings on the recieving end and the caller would likely hear more or less rings)
The reason i want this is I ported my # to Google voice and want to use the customized smart greetings feature of Youmail on my google voice #.
When someone calls me - If I hit ignore before about 3 rings....it goes to youmail voicemail. (what I want all calls to do after three rings)
If I do nothing after recieving a call google voice grabs it before sprint sends it to youmail.
If this app already exists i appologize...I just can not seem to find it.
I wish I could use my google voice # to just forward to my cell but NOT use google voice voicemail.
No one?
Maybe its time for me to start learning to write apps

[Q] Call out with Google Voice

I looked around but couldn't find a thread on this problem.
This is my first Android phone (AT&T version), previously I had a 3GS, and I'm having trouble getting Google Voice sorted. I set up voicemail forwarding as the two thread here suggest, but I can't seem to get calling out working right. If I go into the GV app I can call people who've called me/are starred/left messages etc and it will call with my GV number, but I can't call anyone else with that number. I think I have the phone set to use GV for all calls, but it still uses my cell number if I use the phone dialer. Is there a way to/can I set it up so calls I make come from the GV number?
With the 3GS I just used the GV app for everything and that worked since my calls came from the right number, but as far as I can tell I need to use the phone app to call out with this?
Thanks.
Should be able to change this in the settings:
Settings -> Making Calls
I have mine set up to ask me every time I make a call.
Sounds like yours might be 'Do not use Google Voice to make any calls'
Try groove IP app from market.
Sent from my HTC One X on Leedroid's ROM v5.0.0.
I feel like the least technologically savvy person in the world, but I re-installed the app, restarted, and now it seems to be working.
It had been set to use google voice for all calls, but for whatever reason calls were not coming through that way.
To follow that up. Are texts managed the same way, or do I need to open the GV app to send them?
Use the GV app for texts via GV. Or you can use any other SMS app with the GV-provided phone numbers that it assigns to people that call/text you. As an example, via GV you would normally see a text from Person. If you looked in Messages or Go SMS, it would be Person - +1XXX-XXX-XXX - text. If you use that number to text Person, they will receive it as if it came from your GV #, not your cell #.
Thanks, I'm all sorted out.

Google Voice question

I have GV installed on my N5. If I don't answer the call or decline it it sends people to my Tmobile VM instead of my GV VM. If I tell my phone to Forward unanswered calls to my GV number and I decline a call. The other persons phone rings until it puts them to GV, but on my side I have declined the call, then there is silence, then 1 second ring and then the call ends.
How can I get rid of the phone giving me a 2nd quick ring before shooting the person to GV VM?

Hello,
This is my first post so I hope it helps with the first part of your problem you are having with Google Voice.
Follow these steps to have your mobile phone use Google Voice for voicemail instead of your carrier's voicemail. You can always go back to using your carrier's voicemail later if you want, by entering another code.
Enter the following exactly as written, as if you are dialing someone:
**004* "Your Google Voice Number" #
Press "Send" or "Call" on your phone to dial that number. When you see the confirmation message on your phone, you are done!
