[Q] Sim Card Manager for Android - XPERIA X10 Themes and Apps

Are there anybody working on a simcard manager for Android?
I know there are a few but they are not useful to me as they only can add stuff to the simcard, Not delete anything.

I thought Phone2Simcard pro could handle that. I always used the free version.

Do you mean Contact2Sim Pro?
Yes, you can erase the sim, but not choose what to erase...it wipes everything.
Tried that already....thank God for backups

Sorry,
Took another look at the pro version....actually I missed the option with deleting single contacts before...It works

cant filter my sim contacts in WM6.. anyyone have a solution?

I like to have all my contacts saved onto my phone so I can add pictures and other info to the contact infromation that it doesnt allow you to do if it is just on the sim card... I also like to keep all my contacts on my sim card in case the phone crashes and I need to pull the sim and switch phones.. here is my problem. Since I have my contacts on both my phone and my sim, they show duplicates in the contacts list. Is there any way to filter out the sim card contacts so I dont have 2 of everyone(1 on phone, 1 on sim)??
fyi: Im using WM6 vanila
Try this
I think it inserts a registry hack called "ShowSim" to 0.
I donĀ“t remember, where to edit it by your own, so use this cab-file.
Or use Sktools - OK I like the program.
Go to
HKCU/Control Panel/Phone
ShowSim "1" will show the sim contacts "0" will hide sim contacts

doesn't show up twice for me, maybe it's cause I have a dash though.
When you change the registry and reset the phone it somehow reverts back... Any idea how I can sort this out?
Hide SIM contacts
My simple program which change registry value after Soft Rest (precisely speaking one minute after SR). Install cab - thats all
Enjoy
Hi, I'm new and I have the same problem with my HTC Touch Cruise. I have just tried to edit the registry changing the value 1 to 0 in the string HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Control Panel / Phone but nothing.......after the soft reset the contacts are always visible.
Rstein.HideSimInstall.CAB or hide_sim.cab would resolve my problem?
Thanks and have a nice day
moury: AFAIK Yes.
Thanks RStein, but is "AFAIK Pocket Word"? I don't find it.....
Best regards

Ok so I used your cab file and everything worked except now I want my SIM contacts to show so I can't figure out how to do it. I uninstalled the .cab file and deleted everything that had anyting to do with it and still can't get my SIM contacts to show back up. Any suggestions? Thanks.
How can we go about making a .cab file that shows the SIM contacts then?
Is this just a simple registry tweak that we can do?

SIM Contacts Vs Phone Contacts

Hello all,
I would always like to have a backup of all my HTC contacts in my SIM card too but the moment if I copy even a single contact into the SIM card, it starts showing up under the contacts menu and then I have duplicate contacts which is kinda distracting and annoying.
Is there a tweak or some setting to avoid the SIM contacts from being visible in the HTC contacts menu but at the same time allow me to backup all my phone contacts into the SIM card.
Thanks
Vivek
Check Advance configuration tool (Advanced_Configuration_Tool_v3.3.cab)..
There's a setting in it for this.
I think there's also one in Diamond tool (Diamond Tweak 0.5.3_English.cab)
But not too sure about this one.
Thanks funnysam for your reply.
Could you also post a link for both the softwares you mentioned.
Are they availble on this site ?
Thanks
or you can go to the registry and do hkcu/controlpanel/phone and set ShowSIM to 0

I personal only use phone contacts. Since my phone gets sync with my pc about every other day I always have a up to date bacc up. Not sure why you would want to same tot he sim card. You would proably even be better using PHMbaccup and have everything copied to you mcrosd card on what ever schedule you would like it to be.

In my case I have a dumbphone I can use for a backup, and I use it occasionally. So having the contacts on the SIM for me makes them appear in that phone instead of trying to update my contacts in that phone to keep it current.

[Q] Need Some Help with An EVO back up

First want to say hi. I want to backup my evo since im replacing it with a newer evo since there is a problem with mine its hardware problem. but any way is there a way i can completly take everything from my current phone to new one Apps photos settings launcher pro(paid)im getting the phone tom they called todayso plz help me out plz try and keep it simple if possible
First you should be aware that all of your paid apps are permanently tied to the Google account that you used / created when you first set up the phone. This means that as long as you use the same credentials when setting up the new EVO you will find all off your purchased apps waiting for you in the market.
Second know that most of your personal data is stored on the SD card as opposed to the phone memory itself. If you reuse the same card you will likely find your data is waiting code you without using a backup restore utility.
Despite the above I am a fervent devotee to backing up and use several apps in tandem. I you only have one I think Titanium Backup is the way to go. My Backup Pro another alternative. These will backup and restore all of your apps with data so it is like you never lost a beat. They will even restore desktop layout and call logs or text messages.
My last advice is to get the free app called dropbox. T give you 2 gigs of online storage which get linked to a special folder on your phone. Put a file in the folder and it will get uploaded into your web vault. From there you can access the files from your PC as well.

Swapping two HD7

My old HD7 screen cracked and rather than replacing it, I found a used HD7 at the same cost (little lower) than a new screen. I've already backed up my Old HD7 can I just do a restore on the New HD7 or can I swap microSD cards putting the old one into the new device, will it work? Or are the backups and microSD coded to a serial number on the device itself?
Unfortunately, it is not possible two use a backup from another device (as far as I know ). You can probably use the sdcard but all data will be lost...
However, you don't have to buy all apps again and Windows Live will resotre your contacts, appointements

I was trying to save my sms, settings, and data that is not restore-able via live.
Search for wp7 app backup for some programs that may help you.
I just ment that you'll lose not everything. Note that by now there is no official way to backup 3rd party data and you probably need a custom rom wich is unlocked (maybe even full unlock)

[Q] TMobile Backups, and Stock dialer

Hi, recently flashed gingerclone onto my sidekick, and I'm really digging it. The only thing I was going to add on my phone was tmobile backups and returning the dialer back to stock. I even found links to it in the TouchMIUIwiz v3.0 thread! Unfortunately, those two links are dead. Can anyone reupload the links? .......and also, could they maybe do a quick step by step on how to add them in? I'm in one of those ocd moods where I like to see the steps laid out for me, even if I could probably figure it out by messing around.
I am not sure that this would work, but you could try it. download a rom that uses the stock dialer on your pc. extract it and find the dialer.apk. place it on your sd card. then go to your sd card on your phone and open it. install it. then download an app called apps2rom from the market. open it, select the stock dialer, select move now, let your phone reboot. if this works, you will have the stock dialer on your phone.
Thanks for the reply. I tried it, and got it to work, mostly. Except it didn't add a shortcut to use the dialer, so there's actually no way to access the dialer except through my contacts... which isn't awful, but mehhh.
I would really like the tmobile backups would be really nice though, if it works. Having all my contacts back would really save me a lot of trouble.
