smooth like nexus s??? any video?
Its either stock or Fission right now. And Fission is by far the best choice.
Sent from my D2G running Fission 2.4.3
The stock rom with moto-blur garbage lagged horribly on both of the d2g phones I have set up.
Fission rom fixed that entirely: neither phone lags at all now.
I have no idea about video- I have cameras for taking pictures and they do far better than a phone for video....and they stink for video compared to a video camera.

Hey Ya'll--
I just joined the NS club (coming from a MT4G, G2, and the N1).
Anyhow, I notice a noticeable difference in speed between my mt4g and the ns (with the ns losing this battle).
I'm running both on the newest CM7 nightlies, and it just seems that I'll hit lag when opening apps, using menu items, etc... on the NS that I never do on the MT4G.
Anyone else notice this? Do I just have a bum unit? Is CM7 not very fast on the NS?
Help! I had thought these two were pretty comparable hardware-wise....
In my experience i didnt like CM7, try another rom instead.
The ns itself is pretty darn fast, so check out some other rom, like NScollab.
Thats my favorite anyways.

I'll try it, but isn't that just a CM-based ROM with a different kernel?
More of a mix between cm7 and stock

I had myt4g and now ns. To be honest, I tought i'd miss the 256 M of RAM, but apparently I don't...so far. I use stock rom on both, then cm7 on myt4g and it was smoother. I'll keep u posted after I put cm on ns. What I miss here is the 720 HD recording, but that's another story...
Regards!

EDIT: After 18 hrs of intense use, no lag.
I just wanted to see everyone's opinion on this. I tried both Android Revolution and LeeDroid when the sensation just got s-off and they gave my phone issues (laggy, locked up, etc.). I went back to stock for a while, but I recently tried InsertCoin per a friend's recommendation and it is the best ROM I have tried on my phone! Animations are super smooth and overall decently fast. Made me think twice about possibly trading it for another T-Mo android phone.
I don't have all the time in the world to try flashing other's ROMs as soon as they are released, but I do want to know how other's ROMs perform compared to InsertCoin. What are people's opinion on some other options that are currently better/on par with IC?
IC is the best I've tried. Currently on Bosina's Senseless and liking it though.
I have lots of lag with all android revolution builds i've tried thus far... Must be TMO phones only.
I've found IC to be the best and smoothest, I just back over to AR HD though because I couldn't watch youtube videos on the latest IC release. Not digging it as much though :/
My choice
i've tested other roms (for no more than 30-40 mins) but i keep going back to bosnia's senseless rom. it runs smooth and fast.
InsertCoin is a beastly rom. Try the new coredroid though. Its pretty smooth and looks absolutely amazing.

You can download YouTube from the Market. Working fine for me.
Swyped from my HTC Sensation
I recently installed this ROM on my dev phone, and while it's working a lot better than I expected that it could, I have a couple questions:
1) Is there any way to make Pandora stay running? Right now it gets maybe 25% though a song before it crashes. This is from a fresh boot, with no additional apps open, and Pandora running in the foreground.
2) Same thing as above, memory issues. The stock browser randomly closes, and Chrome is impossible.
I know that it's just an alpha, and a nice one at that. Just wondering if anyone could enlighten me a bit.
Thanks!
I think that the OG Droid just doesn't have enough RAM to run ICS and above well. I used CM 9 for a while but flashed to MIUI recently, was blown away by speed
I think 4.0 and 4.1 on the droid are just proof of concepts, not really supposed to work well

I want to know from you guys the experience of using GB and ICS roms, so which one is stable for you as a daily driver.
ICS has come a long way for our phone, and I'd say it gives really good performance now. I especially liked MIUIv4 port, which works like a charm. And ICS based ROMs are almost bug free now, I can use tethering, camera etc without any problems. Gingerbread is also really good, but I have to say ICS is more aesthetically pleasing, and I feel no need to go back to GB based ROMs.
I agree, the ICS based ROMs are the best right now. There are new ROMs based on Jelly Bean (Cyanogen Mod 10 Unofficial) that, from my experience, are as stable as you could ask for our phone, but it's also having problems with Google Apps. Definitely go for the ICS ROMs though; they run faster, look better, and have more features when compared to the stock ROM or lower grade Cyanogenm Mod ROMs.
Gb is stable whereas ICS unstable bcoz of hq vdo lag

I tried ICS for a while but got a frequent bug where my screen went dead every now and then. The System kept on running but with no display. Some people mentioned that it is a known bug with no solution except to reboot phone every time. So I went back to GB another member told me he set he processor mix and Max values to something like 420-600ish and it seemed to fix the problem. So I guess ICS does not support overclocking on the P500. I've been thinking to try it for myself but I'm lazy and GB works fine.

Im looking for gud ICS roms...But still no good rom....I still prefer neko95s' ginger snap and CM7.2 they are still best on race..
The lack of HQ YouTube and video is unfortunately a deal breaker for me, so it's Gingerbread for me right now. Fix that and I'll happily switch to ICS in a heartbeat.

I use ics, but I rather come back to GB this week. Battery life is shorter than on gb and i can' t watch yt videos .
> ics is good, jellybean is better, both are fantastic if only we met hardware requirements , read my signiture.. you'll find the fastest rom ever for Optimus one, just click on the link
What makes me choose gingerbread over ics is mainly due to the battery life. On gingerbread with my usage, I can probably squeeze out two days of battery life. With that same usage on ics, I get less than a day. And as a moderate gamer, kernels matter a lot to me; the gingerbread kernels give me more performance than any ics kernel. Also sucks to have choppy video recording and playback
But the one thing that I like about ics is that it is aesthetically pleasing (but that is the only pro)
GB is battery friendly ICS sucks
try oxygen rom You cant customize like CM but....very good battery life:good:
Though I have a derivative device (LS670, the Optimus One for Sprint), I've run both GB and ICS and found a lot of good, stable, well supported ROMs that get great battery life. If you're doing heavy use, you'll likely get slightly better battery life out of a GB ROM, but I find the customization options and overall aesthetic of ICS to be much better.
In the end, it comes down to preference. ICS Roms are hot right now, but JB is on the rise, and I hear some people manage to get a day or two out of JB as well.
We shall see.
Apps are better in ICS
The gmail app is way too better in ICS. I like the widgets too.. Can't seem to go back to GB. Missing the aesthetics of ICS a lot..!
That's a question that will have many different opinions. Most of my devices I've had was running 2.2 and 2.3 (CM7). I have little experience with 4.0/CM10 but I am getting use to 4.1.
If you want your phone to be very easy and simple to use I would recommend 2.3. If you just use your phone for calls and texts and some web browsing then 2.3 is for you IMO. 2.3 just has a really simple layout that its just so easy to use and it runs very smooth on the optimus v. ICS is a lot more customizable and has more bells and whistles. But in the end, it just depends what your looking to get out of your device

If u r looking for a longer battery life, GB and if not ICS! Its that simple. And also hephappy s final 9.1.1 is very simple and handy and easy to use ICS Rom.. Not much customization hassels.. great ics Rom indeed..

If you want good battey life +hq video playback then straightway go for gsnap2.2 rom.

For Infuse 4g does anyone know a ICS or preferable 4.1.2 Jelly Bean rom with working video camera (still photos are fine video capture is the issue). I have tried numerous Cyanogen, Paranoid Android, Liquid Smooth, roms for Jelly 4.1.2 and 4.2.2.
Always go back to Paranoid Android 4.1.2 pa_infuse4g-2.53-04NOV2012-152548 . Camera is fine but video capture is glitchy. Same for all the other roms I tried. Only other problem with the rom is that Wifi will stop working but a quick toggle will get it back. Otherwise smooth sailing.
All the 4.2.2 roms I have tried have been extremely buggy and laggy. I was wondering if there was a rom I overlooked running ICS or 4.1.2 that had working video. I put the video camera down to 480p like I was told on a couple of forums and it still crashes if you point it at a bright light.
If no modern roms have a working video camera, what rom should I be following that may resolve this issue. A dev that works primarily on stability vs adding features I can probably download from the app store or find a hack for on XDA. This is for my sister that likes to complain so it has to be stable. I really don't want any features just a modern non Gingerbread rom with a working video camera / and stills (she needs ICS VPN or later for work).
Thanks for any pointers in the right direction.
The video is as good as its gonna get for now for us. We don't have access to the correct drivers and code to get the video working 100% on ICS and jb. I am sure that one day one of the devs will crack it but I wouldn't hold my breath. Best thing is just do what you did and drop down in resolution and hope for the best. I've been having great luck with beanstalk, and Scott is an extreamly active dev working hard to make the ROM run smooth as well as add features. And if a feature hurts the stability he removed it.

The kernel in jt's cm9 rom over at rootzwiki allows for perfect 720p video recording.
It can be flashed over entropy's cm9 builds using sgs kernel flasher. WiFi doesn't work and perhaps other things as well...

That's interesting, was never aware Jr had once had working 720p...maybe someone could compare that kernel to the current cm9 kernel...and than try and port that fix to jb...

any luck for 720p recording in JB Rom?
There are two very fast and smooth ROMs for JB, Scott's Beanstalk and Andros11's Vanila rootbox for infuse, but unfortunatly video recording for 720P is still the issue, i am hoping some day some one will find the solution for it, Too much hope on our champ- Scott.
any luck tilll now >?
videocam illusion is not the solution, stock camera is much better than the app, its not snapy as 720p recording ,but its not looks good at all.
