yup!
the program i use personally is called "wii controller ime" or something like that. I think it costs 5 bucks. I think I heard somewhere that there were other programs that were free and were just as good. So check it out unless you are like my and 5 bucks is nothing really... Wii IME had the highest ratings back when I was looking for an app so it didnt hurt to pay the extra money.
If you are only playing at home then youll be fine. Its when you wanna play on the go or something like that is annoying. again why i made my controller setup. Now I can play while laying in my bed on my back.

I just got the wii mote. I have the wii app from the market and tested it on my sisters controllers it works fine. I tried a nyko controller but it didn't sync. I was told it haas to be a original controller. Hopefully the one I get is a official remote and not a good replica.are there other apps to use third party remotes?

correct, ive bought at least 5-6 different types of aftermarket wii controllers and non of them would sync up.
I'm seriously waiting for nintendo to make an official wireless classic controller so that I can remake my little controller to be a little bit smaller. But it all honesty it isnt that bad. I just throw it in my bag and it holds up fine. Been two weeks now and its still just as tight as the first day.

One thing you can do which isn't very honest is after u get your wii mote, go buy a real one at walmart or something. Swap the two and keep the real one and then bring the aftermarket one back.
Because of return policies there are a lot of loop holes that are possible to use. Ofc your own ethics have a lot to do with your actions. I for one won't judge, most people have done far worse one time or another in their lives.

And according to another thread, there is a Datel Wii Classic controller which doesn't require a Wiimote. At least one person was successful in using it with his Android.

Ill try the walmart swap lol but the controller is black and doesn't even say wii on it. But most people working for a store don't know much of their product anyway. Ill look for a used one online.

I dont feel like risking the 50 bucks.

The controller I ordered from ebay is confirmed working. Just played different emulators with it and it synched and played through all with no errors or disconnecting. Not bad for $23 including the rechargeable battery.

Your prayer worked The controller works with no problem.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App

Has anybody here considered buying the Datel controller? I would buy something like that if my G2 could somehow output to a larger screen.

I have considered it, but since I have no problem doing a dragon punch with the classic controller and the guy that reviewed the datel wireless said he was unable to that really turned me off. Even if it was specially designed to hold the phone I doubt id get it.
That's what you get from an oem manufacture usually though. Quality.

Finished my second custom wiimote/classic controller hybrid yesterday. alot smaller then the first one, still need to solder the wire to practically remove it.

Netflix workaround

I am a frustrated owner of a VZM Gtab and unable to use netflix, up until recently. I found an app on the market called Splashtop remote and it works flawlessly. The free version only lets you remote to your desktop for 5 minutes, but the paid version is on sale this weekend. The wonderful thing is it streams sound also. This app has got to be the best remote desktop software that I have ever used. I can stream my netflix for .99 cents, get it while it is on sale still. There is someone under reviews that says it runs so well he can play Aion on his phone, lol. I am in no means affilatiated with the creator of the app. I will attached a picture of full screen netflix being streamed from my notebook on my Gtab. Hope that will help some until we get an official Netflix app.

Hmm, it works pretty well. The only problem I have encountered so far is that it does not work very well on multiple monitor systems where the main monitor is not where the start bar is.

As I haven't been able to get any of the unofficial APK's of Netflix to run movies on my gTab, I was thrilled to see this solution and find it works! I just tried the Splashtop free version and it streamed perfectly to my Samsung Vibrant. Since the full version's on sale for $1.99, I think it's worth it even if just a stopgap until Netflix works on my devices directly.
However, the online market has my gTab grayed out and when I try finding it on the market app with my gTab, it does not come up in a search. Grr. I'd like to use this on my gTab until Netflix finally works directly on it.
I'm thrilled to be able to stream to my phone, though, still. Thanks for posting!

Using a stylus with the Epic?

Hi all,
After playing with a Galaxy Note, I've gotten reminiscent about using a stylus from the Touch Pro 2 days. My question is: Has anyone used a stylus for the Epic? Are there any out there anyone can recommend? I realize it's not going to have the same interactive experience as the Note, I just want something to play around with. Thanks!

should work i've used other things some things wont work not exactly which one but. lol my car charger top pin makes my screen move if i use that haha
It would have to produce some kind of static from the tip. Either on it's own or derived from your skin and transmitted through the stylus to the tip. Our screen is capacitive and reacts from the electrical charge of our skin. The galaxy note was specifically designed for a stylus through the screen hardware and the type of stylus used. I'm not 100% that there are styluses that will work with our phones but I would assume so as the concept doesn't seem too difficult. I've never looked into it before. I'll do a Google search and see what comes out of it.

If you have the aluminum stylus with the black tip it works with the electrostatic screens.
Just found out Radio Shack sells one that works with any capacitive touchscreen device and is $15. A little pricey but I confirmed today that it works and it's a very nice quality stylus. Very soft rubber tip, strong aluminum casing, very light.

I sometimes use the back end of a 1960's papermate profile. It has a nice springy feel to it. Plus I like to use antique pens.
So I bought this one off amazon..
GTMax Touch Screen Stylus Pen (Black + Red + Silver) for Samsung Galaxy S2 / Epic 4G CDMA Cellphone
Been using this so far for about a week and its been great. No qualms with this at all and it was only $2.40 total, including shipping. Granted, the price has gone up about $.50 since I purchased (now its $2.40, when I purchased it was $1.90+$0.50 shipping).

So I just got this thing for my One X called the Gameklip. What it is is a bracket that mounts your phone to a PS3 controller effectively turning it into an awesome portable game system. It is made by a fellow XDA'er, he charges $15, makes them to order specifically for whatever phone you order it for. Believe me when I tell you, this thing is worth EVERY damn penny. It's just a piece of plastic, but it is damn sturdy and the One X fits in it perfectly. Check out his thread to see what it's about and expect a video review from me tomorrow evening. To summarize what I will be saying in the video, if you game on your One X and use the PS3 controller, you MUST buy this thing. It's not an option. Buy it. This is EASILY the coolest thing ever made for Android phones. You buy now!

It is my understanding that ICS does have native USB game controller support but don't quote me on that. This is just a plastic bracket, there are no electronics in it. The "wired version" just comes with a USB OTG cable. If you have an OTG cable already, you can try it out and see if it works for you. You also won't need to buy the wired one then. But considering where you're posting, I must recommend that you do root. It opens up a world of possibilities, including bluetooth PS3 controller support.
What emulators are you guys using? I grabbed "john nes" from the Play store and I'm having trouble getting the PS3 controller to work with it.
I have used DroidEmu and N64oid so far. Yet to try Gensoid and GENPLUSDroid I have installed.
Finally tried XBox controller and was PnP!
I cant get anything to work with this PS3 controller. It pairs but thats about it.

I can't find a joycenter app on the play store. I'm using DroidEmu and the Sixaxis app. The Sixaxis app starts up and tells me "Client connected" then the 1 light stays lit on the controller, then I switch the IME to Sixaxis controller. When I fire up DroidEmu with a rom running I get nothing. I tried playing with some settings in DroidEmu but no luck.

In my opinion, it is possible to make PS2 emulator, look what happened few month before with PSP. But even if it's true, it can't be final build or something, maybe early build like mehdi.moha said. And to make my answer clear - I didn't test it - don't want to spend my Internet limit to download 2.5GB for nothing. Hope somebody tell us what is that.

Yeah it seems like a scheme. It cost a pretty penny and one review says it presents a screen stating a large download is taking place to avoid getting a refund after a download that took longer than 30 minutes. Just gives emu's dev on play a bad name. If there was one out there worth the money, I believe that someone would have heard something about the project development. Those are ports, man. The game developers brought them out after making some changes so that they would be playable on Smartphones. Emulation is completely different.

Gta's are PC ports not ports from PS2. The PS2 is extremely hard to emulate and needs alot of power. If my 2.6 ghz, G-force etc etc PC can only just run games (5fps approx) any mobile to date won't be able to. Have more chance running dolphin (Wii emulator which runs perfect on my PC). Could post all day about how it would not work but probably better to do your research on it to find out for yourself.

the biggest problem with the ps2 emulation is the complex/crazy hardware, look at pcsx2, the team has done a good work, but it isn't perfect even after years of test (yes, it is quite good for some games, but only on very powerful pc and at this point IMHO is better to use a true PS2); the Wii/Gamecube emulation is more possible, becuase the hardware is simpler (and it has a lot of development from the years of the Gamecube, the Wii in the end is a more powerful version of the Gamecube, so it was easier to develop an emulator).
If I seem to remember the PS2 had several different chips all doing something at the same time (not just limited to CPU,GPU, sound etc).
To emulate a PS2 you have to emulate every chip and gfet them running in unison which is no easy task. This is why in older PS3s they just stuck all the PS2 hardware in the PS3 so it was done via hardware and not software.
Its a bit under handed and dirty what this 'dev' is doing

That thing is huge!
I'd personally rather go with something much more pocketable like the gametel controller. It has a spring loaded clip so I'll go in the AT&T store to measure if it fits the S4 tomorrow.

Already tested the Xbox 360 controller for Windows and it is working (also PS3 controller, Logitech F310 and F710).
Putting details about my connectivity testing in this thread. Be great if others dropped a line about what they're using!

You don't need root. You can use cable.

If you read a little more carefully you will see that I was replying to comment about the Sixaxis Controller app, which makes the PS3 the best controller option, but does require Root to be at its best.
Obviously I am aware that it works via USB OTG - I already reported that here. You can check my YouTube channel to see that I know a little about device connection options ;p

I recently bought a moga pro controller and absolutely love it. The build quality is awesome and the built in clip is great.

Have you tried it with any emulators? I'm about 99% certain I'm getting one but I'm really curious about how it works with emulators.

It worked great with Mupen N64 emulator but that's the only emulator I've tried. For games that are optimized for it, the experience is superb (GTA: Vice City)

I've tried with my HTC One for emulators and the right analog stick and shoulder buttons do nothing, but that may be due to HTCs bluetooth stack which has historically been a pain with HID controllers.
Will test with my S4 tonight.
I really want to get a game pad, is there any reviews on how any of them look/work on the S4?
also probably wrong thread to ask this but where can i get some good emulators? I currently have the Myboy one but only use it for pokemon lol
want a better gaming experience
