i am a noob, but it seems to me it has a lot of bloats, it has blur and needs a lot of tuning before it is usable for user outside china...(can't even add a google account)

So what are we saying here? not able to flash if you are on 2.51, but if you are on 2.21 or 2.34 you can - makes sense as that was one of the issues with 2.51, but it was resolved.
I'm not going to be getting flash happy with this one anyway, people should lear the lesson from 2.51, best to wait a few days and see how it pan out. I do want to get the sbf though so I can take a look at it.
I am downloading it now ... and yes it's froyo! Will mirror once it's done.

Thats the info we need, its times like this you need a 2nd phone for dev stuff, coz I'm not flashing the sbf on my only phone for sure.
I agree, don't suggest flashing this until its been looked at. Be patient, I can assure you it won't be offering that much more that 2.1 with JIT is already in the interim.

i can flash this and return to 2.34 safely with a full wipe (force close if no full wipe is performed after flashing)
another thing cool about this rom is....the dialer is capable of "smart dialing" (i.e. it searches the best contact match on the fly when u dial..)

i lost track and started over with these 3 might do a hero rom since its my favorite but would rather not.Sense-hero is the best hero out now.i was excited by the release of mw2!

i believe so but ive never used any cyan roms, i use nandroid to backup a hero rom before testing my beta roms.

Curious? Lol, I can read code. There is nothing in there from the new dump. Not to mention the random bits of code and files that barak was using to test, but have no purpose in the build for actual release.
I kinda feel a bit foolish for trying to buy you time in the other thread you started for this by saying you were taking on a big challenge. That wasn't an excuse to just re-release what was already done. It was meant to help people back off while you got your feet wet.

Hi, I've made a 2.1 rom based on the unodexed apk's thanks to wesgarner and ivanmj as well as wesgarner's kernel and vega's battery fix to get rid of constant errors in logcat.
Mods please consider that this rom is fairly heavily based on a build RELEASED BY IVANMJ... I can confirm there is no warez in the rom.
Firerat, please test. I think some users may have a problem due to your a2sd script. It hangs on my g1 in middle of boot when utilizing it (logcat says surfaceflinger and many other services died, zygote exit).

Just to strengthen my decision on flashing this rom (I am downloading now), I want you, in one post, to tell me why this rom is better than say, Vega's. His is de-odexed, his uses Wes' kernel, and I'm sure he included his own fix. So what makes YOURS better? (Note: Trying not to be a douche, just want to start a conversation while I download from the slow 4shared )

got it man. well first of all, vega's is based on the slower legend, unless we're talking about different roms...
But this runs dexopt on boot and has optipng-ed frameworks I didn't do it though.

This rom is for g1 and mt3g, hence the signature and the forum I posted in.
I have successfully ported cyanogenmod 4.2.15.1 to my mytouch 1.2 (LE), just thought i would share,the port is fully stable the only thing thats
not working is tethering, touchscreen works,headjack,video,etc. you must flash 1.6 DRC83 base defanged before flashing the port, you should
be able to find that somewhere around this forum or cyanogenmod website.. i reccommend that you do a full wipe flash base then flash this port
should have no problems... so here it is if anybody wants it..

MAKE SURE you flash the 1.6 base before you flash port! You have to search for it I didn't provide it...
OK I did it.
I flashed 1.6 defanged from here:

What I could see was the new google search widget, but I couldn't use it because it freezed, and some icons. They are not Motorola branded anymore. They are stock android icons. I didn't like it

IDK, I did a wipe/factory reset and started working.
The only problem is that I don't get any signal, and when I try to set it up a stock SKT menu appears asking if I want to use roaming...That's the only problem I found.

Now I have signal...so the phone works.

I can confirm..ROM is working OK
but you have to wipe all data from recovery
BUT....
this is still old 2.1 kernel
(you can put apps on SD card, still...)
edit:
and there are 2 problems
proximity sensor and auto rotate is not working, and touch keys are not illuminated
and Hd video recording is MUCH MUCH better
very fluid, and even in dark it is much better than before...
phone is more responsive than before (even at 550MHz), launcher is much smoother (by design it is the same launcher which comes with XT720), there is no motoblur
quick office is updated...widgets are the same, and that's all..
but unfortunately, I will flash back to 2.1 because of proximity/auto rotate and led buttons

A: Press both volup+voldown keys instead of lower right screen corner.
Q: I have signal issues!
A: If you're in Europe, use radio fix or baseband switcher.
Q: Which languages are included?
A: english, spanish, french. With morelocale2 you can have partial german (and other languages) translation.
Q: Does root and clockworkmod recovery work?
A: Yes.
Q: Can i skip motoblur registration?
A: No, you can't unless you edit system files or sideload alternate launcher.
Q: How good is camera?
A: Camera problems are reported as fixed in this rom. The only problem reported is 24fps encoder limit set on video recording. Also, this rom (as well as Cliq2 & Chinese rom) does not have 720p codecs.

could you extract cg39.smg please?, i can´t extract it on my pc.
Can this be true? The T-Mobile US Defy wasn't even on the lastest upgrade list from Moto. Last I saw it was China & Latin America in Q1 and UK & Central Europe in Q2.

the sbf is unsigned so it can not be flashed, if someone could extract system folder from it, it would be helpfull.
I grabbed it real quick. Dont know what to do with it but I have it lol. My new DEFY is on the way.
downloading now...will toss up to multiupload when it is finished.

i have that already, it only extract sbf, i want to extract the system folder from cg39.smg.

I tried to replace the CG39.smg of v2.51 with the on from this fw here in this post...flashed it...and...no way :-( ...boot error...and back to bootloader...
i got the system files extracted and am uploading to mulitupload. will have link when it finishes in about 15 min
