Try finding a Gapps package (Google Apps) its usually in a .zip file and you can just open up that and install the .apk of the certain app or boot into recovery and flash like your flashing a rom

I have a Motorola Photon, and I had tried to get the old Market backet back with a process I found in the forum. It didn't work, and somewhere along the line I lost the Market all together. I tried wiping the phone back to factory and the Market app did not come back. I tried to just install a version from 4Shared, but still doesn't work with any version I install. It says that "com.android.vending has quit unexpectedly" and then it FC's. It only seems to do this when I go to download an app. I can browse and search fine with no problems, just no downloading!! I admit I'm a noob, and probably messed with something I shouldn't, but I figured this would be a nondestructive thing to learn on. Man was I wrong!! This sucks...please help me!!

Yes...I was rooted but no custom rom. I don't know how to do that yet. This is going to sound stupid, but what exactly is a custom rom? After I wiped to factory condition I tried to install a vending.apk from 4shared and that still gives me same error. I will uninstall again and try a market.apk now. Is that the same as vending.apk?
A factory reset will only delete user data, it won't put back something that has been removed. You need to get the vending apk for the version you want and instead of installing it normally put it in /system/app. You can do so using Root Explorer or another root level file explorer. If you don't have one installed, I can post the apk of a free one for you. Mount system as r/w and copy/paste the apk into /system/app, then set permissions to rw-r--r--, then reboot. You should have your market back up & running.

That's what I originally tried to do and didn't work, but I will try it again...If you could post an apk of the market you know is good that would be great. Can u post an apk of a root explorer also? I havent checked 4shared yet. Is there another free download service other than 4shared? Thanks for your help!!
Just download Market and install it. If it FC then check the permissions.

(It's the new market btw. I know you don't want it, but you don't really have a choice at the moment)
Ok so this is weird!! I left the Market that wasn't working installed by mistake. I installed the OTA update that Motorola did, and then re-rooted my phone again. Now the Market is working for the most part!!! Only thing is...it FC's every time iot installs an app. It downloads and installs, but right after it installs it FC's!! It doesn't always close all the way...sometimes just goes to Market home screen. All the functionality seems to be working though, so I can deal with that.
Does anybody know why after the OTA update I can only get EDGE instead of 3G on a Rogers SIM card?
Did you clear Google Services Framework data and Market data?
i just integrated my updated system apps for my nexus s 2.3.4 root. it disabled market, music, and a few other apps. the only way i can think to reverse it would be to simply install a different rom.
But i am now unable to do so. Not thinking i ended up removing all apps from my phone in an attempt to completely reset it to stock, but it didnt change anything with the os system data. the files still dont work properly and keep force closing.
i can use my phone so its not a complete brick.
but how do i go about regaining access to market and other system apps?

If i was in your situation, I would try one of the official OTA updates that are a full rom. you will loose root and custom recovery, but those are easy to re-obtain. Since it's a full rom, it will rewrite all system apps and/or updated apps that are system integrated.
As always, since you are not coming from a full stock rom, A full wipe/reset should be done once flashing
i tried that actually. my issue was then error 7. it wouldnt verify the signature. all of the methods i have seen to make it verify the signature require me to have some apps on my phone and the ability to use market.
i also downloaded the sdk package and the adb software. i can link my phone up to it and lock/unlock the oem that way; but when i do a search for devices, it doesnt show my phone as a listed device. i tried to simply install titanium backup anyway to at least get my apps back and es file explorer, but it says device not found.
it really has become a puzzle for me.
and it is a stock rom. i just rooted it. unless that un-stocks it??
I've only ever seen the signature error on the incremental updates. Make sure you use the full ROM. Alternatively you could look for a CWM image of stock.
Root will not prevent an ota from being applied.

Hello everybody. So, i rooted my X10 Mini (Android 2.1) and i deleted Market. I am trying to install it back BUT it cannot be installed. I get a message that the package could not be analyzed properly. I guess it is because the version of the market i am trying to install is not compatible but i cannot find a compatible version. I've searched the world. Any ideas?
Well i am not so sure if this will help you but you could try a factory reset, it might install your maket again since it goes factory state...it will wipe your data though.
BTW: i wont be responsible if anything happens during the wipe, you should backup your stuff first.
I did a factory reset
I did a factory reset but it didn't install it again. However some uninstalled apps returned, like SlideMe and 2 games...
try this http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/0...-and-games-pin-number-for-purchases-and-more/
Get it from 4shared.com just search market place. I did it yesterday cause I needed a older version.
Nothing worked till now guys...
I tried every market on 4share and still...nothing.
Any suggestions? Should i reinstall android? Is this possible?

Visit this page and download the archive at the bottom. Extract the "vending.apk" and try to install it.
This should be the one, that came with your phone originally.
If that doesn't work, you might have to reflash Android - at which point it might be a good time to maybe give CyanogenMod a try? ;-)
But try installing that apk first.
If nothing of those tips help you can do it the hard way. Download the gapps zip file for your device and push it onto the sdcard. Boot into the bootloader, enter the recovery partition and update the zip file. After that the google apps should be reinstalled.
help, brand new phone, firmware did not say row or cw,it came stock with no gapps unrooted, and with a ad virus(every 2 min a full screen ad would pop up) in order to remove this i rooted with framaroot, used system app remover, deleted something i shouldnt have, now its stuck at bootloader, will go into stock recovery, ive hard reset and cleared cache 10+ times with no luck, however:laugh:i also downloaded nandroid backup before i messed it up and made a back up...please help, btw flashtool does not see my device, but under safely remove hardware on my pc it does say lenovo adb device,as i tried to install a custom recovery image,I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT FILES OR PC'S IN GENERAL,if you say i need to install a file please be clear as to exactly how i get this file and how to do it...someone please help me
I have the Korean F350S version, with Android 4.4.2. It's rooted.
I was using CCleaner, going through the long list of apps to delete. including system apps. For whatever reason, I deleted "phone". and now this thing won't get any bars, make any calls, or any texts.
I guess I deleted the basic "phone hardware" function...LOL. I thought I was just deleting the homescreen app that the user interacts with to use the phone. ARGH!
OK, so I downloaded ES File Explorer, and Undeleter. I got Undeleter to recognize and recover 39 .apk files to a file on the SD card, but most of the recovered files just have numbers for names. I have no idea what the files are for.
Is it possible to reinstall the basic phone software to get my cell phone calling again WITHOUT reinstalling the whole system from scratch?
If I did indeed erase the phone software (system app), would a system recovery even be a solution?
Since you have a f350 why dont flash d838ish stock rom
I was kind of hoping I didn't have to go through that right now, since the phone worked fine.
Is that the only solution?
I have gone beyond the needs of this thread, and have posted a new thread about needing to enter recovery mode . The phone will not enter recovery mode using button presses.
Hi guys, I recently rooted my Android device then removed some bloatware and also the built-in launcher (carefree - Ami launcher), then removed the root.
I am using now nova launcher as the default and all is working fine.
Should I move nova apk to /system/app? Or just let it like it is now?
I am afraid of bricking my phone in the future.
