after about 5 minutes of using the mytouch 4g, the battery gets hot.
Is anyone else having this problem?
Are all of the phones like this or is this a defect?
The bottom rear of the phone can definitely get warm, but I haven't noticed the battery area getting warm.
had the same problem especially when using slacker....believe it or not I use zeam launcher...dosent get really hot no more ....jus warm sometimes..but not uncomfortable...also go to setting-application-usb debugging make sure it check on..i hope this helps.

It had that problem once when I loaded some ROM, but i just flash a different kernel and it fixed things. Haven't had the problem since.

Hey everyone I'm coming from a Mytouch4g and was wondering if the g2x is plagued with the good screen/bad screen that the Mt4g has. I was lucky enough to get a good screen mt4g from Craigslist and plan on purchasing the g2x there as well. Anything else I should be aware of besides the possible random reboots or screen bleed?

bring your car charger and ask to charge the phone. some heat up when charging and cause the phone to shut down.
It seems no one else has a vibration issue with their sensaiton when using the Anker battery. When I use the Anker battery, my vibration sounds a little weird. Its very obnoxious sounding and I would like to fix it. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas?
Its not my back cover, I got a replacement and it did not fix the problem.
Is got an anker 1900 battery and haven't noticed any strange sound. When you say you fit a replacement do you mean a replacement back or battery?
Do you notice if the back does not fit properly onto the phone with the anker battery? Have you put the stock battery back on to rule out that it is indeed not the phone body or backing that is causing it? Care to describe the sound better, more info is always helpful...sounds like a buzzing sound, or a ringing sound or something else...
I would say buzzing sound. And yeah i've replaced both the anker battery and back cover of the phone. Neither fixed it. This does not occur with the stock battery, but my battery life with my anker is just so good I would rather keep using it
I could use some help! I'm sure someone wants a rise in their thank meter!
Am i allowed to bump myself in. This? Lol
I'm getting a replacement phone for funky vibration lol
The whole casing vibrates, I tried my wife Sensation back cover, didn't fix it and btw, I'm using stock battery.

I buyed atrix2 5days ago when i use games and web for 5min the screen was overheating my phone is not rooted and using motorla rom any solu
tions please.
What do you mean
Overheating? what do you mean. was it crashing or did it just feel hot?
My experience
mine actually feel's hot when i play or in conditions of extreme usage. So if you are not getting any visible problems, don't worry. I think they also have a temp protection in case the processor might overheat.
my phone have this problem,too
Screen not responding correctly
When I have my phone plugged in it gets hot and the screen does not respond correctly. I'm not sure what the cause is but I believe it has to do with how hot the phone gets.
Is this the problem you are having? I have two Atrix 2's and both of them (one stock one using Blaze Rom) have this issue.
I had a Razr, and the screen was overheat, but Atrix 2 is never (of course playing game or surfing webs for a long time)
i have the same problem too.. i think it is because android software is downloading in background.. did you turn on background data all the time?
Background Data?
Wait are you telling me if I turn off my background data the phone won't get hot enough to interfere with the screenworking correctly?
I haven't noticed any abnormal heat on mine....wonder if the Otterbox has anything to do with that

Yes the background data enabled if i'm going to disable it then the problem will solve?
Yes it's only overheating no crashes no problem with phone
I can say that Atrix 2 is a "cool" phone, from inside to outside.

If both of them have the issue, wouldn't you think about replacing the charger? That's what is messing up your screen and probably causing it to get hot as well

First we need to know: is it getting hot when its charging or just running on battery?
I believe that most phones get pretty hot when they're charging and running something heavily processor-intensive wouldn't exactly help.
Second, I suggest you install the app Watchdog, it'll keep an eye on your processes to see if any apps are misbehaving and consuming too much of the cpu.
Third, try to turn off things that you don't need. If you're playing a game then you probably don't need wifi/bluetooth/auto-sync/etc, also make sure your brightness is set on automatic and not to the brightest setting possible.
If this doesn't help report back with more information.

yes i try it and my phone now don't get overheat and battery last longer
I am using the stock charger; though I have not noticed the problem in Airplane mode. Nor since I'm changed to Sonya rom.

Probably an app running wild and you solved it by switching roms

My phone hit 102 degrees today. Hottest it ever got. Was playing a game for maybe a half hour. Running ATRIX blazev3 red theme overclocked at 1100mhz. Should I be worried if it continues to do this or maybe turn the clock speeds down a bit?
My Sensation 4G gets really hot on the bottom front and back, assuming thats where the cpu is. Its been doing this since i first got it, and it burns my hand thats how bad it is. Any help would be appreciated.
This is a known issue with sensations I had mine for awhile and it still heats up, even on stock. When this happens don't worry just let your phone rest for a bit.
Thanks, really weird it gets that hot though. And i usually do put it down for a few minutes and it cools back down.
Try to reduce the brightness to about 50% and also install leedroid techniques and turn off the capacitive buttons, you can still use them but the lights won't turn on. This helped me to reduce ny heat a lot.

+1 on the backlight for the capacitive buttons, heats the bottom of the phone fairly quick
Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is a common issue or not, but I'm desperately wanting the problem fixed. I've put up with it in this state for nearly a year now, and can no longer stand to deal with it anymore.
Ever since I put roms on my Inspire 4g it constantly turns off in my pocket, or just sitting there on a desk. Really, the only time it actually stays on without turning off is if you leave it on the charger. Which got me thinking that it could potentially only be a battery issue? With that being said, I have purchased a new battery, and it should be in sometime this week. However, the problem only started after putting roms on the phone. As I'm a n00b, I assumed there could be an issue with that.
The roms that I've had on it so far are Cyanogen, Coredroid 8(all series of 8), and now currently I have MIUI installed on it. The first rom was coredroid, and that's when the problem started. However, it hasn't let up with simply changing roms to combat the issue. Is there anything I can do? Is there any common mistake which causes this issue? Or does anyone else at all have this issue?
Back when the problem started, no one really offered any help or suggestions, outside of a new battery. Unfortunately I have to wait a week for the battery to arrive. In the meantime, I'd like to know what other possible trouble shooting I could do to see if the problem could be fixed in the meantime? I'm a full time Nursing student with a wife, and a child, so I'm definitely wanting the phone to be fixed.
When it does turn off, I have to pull out the battery, and reinsert it. That usually solves the problem, for a little while. However, if it goes back in the pocket, or I lay it back down somewhere, it could turn off multiple times. When it does that, I pull out the battery again and it boots up, but my sim card doesn't register. Once that happens, I usually just pull out the sim card, put it back in and it's good for a while again.
The problem is really inconsistent, sometimes it can go for days without turning off. Generally, if I leave it on the car charger, it's fine. But, once I go mobile with it, it'll turn off several times during normal usage. When it's in use, while I'm texting or talking it never shuts off. It only does it when it's idling.
So over all it could be a couple of things like when you flash new set of roms most cases if the dev of the Rom has an update to the Rom and they don't request a Full wipe then do so unless it can flashed over the previous Rom.
Or you can have a PD98img.zip file on your sd card that cause it to reboot. Delete that.
Or it can be sometimes a kernel issue flash a new one.

To make sure if its a battery issue, return to stock rom n see if it will shut off. If it does, definitely something is wrong.
I hope this works for u.

are you under volting or using an app to overclock? The only time I experienced that type of issue is when I under volted.
