Newer Qik on Market

how do we remove the old one, tried installing the new one from market but it puts 2 icons on there. Can anyone post the new apk. or how do we extract apk?
nmind i found out how to extract it.

i also have two icons...annoying

I downloaded "Qik for Evo 4G" and it simply removed the previous... Only one icon here...

Once you reboot it will erase the other icon , and you should have only 1 present

yeah, after having the original one, then 2 updates, i had three icons for a while. i refuse to put it on again.
what's funny is that i now have absolutely no qik apps on my phone, that i can find, or apk's hidden anywhere. but, when i go to the downloads page in the market, all it says for qik is 'update available', as if i have it installed :/ go figure

I need help I downloaded the new Qik for evo app. Now when I click on video chat it says my number is not verified. so when I go to verify my number it says a sms was send to my phone but I never actuallly get it. So when I try to make a call it just stays stuck on establishing connection. Any help will be helpful

I have the same problem with the verification sms...

Able to set up my Qik and everything. Is there anyway you can delete videos that have been posted? I had two test runs but not looking to keep those up at all! Thanks for the info guys. Also the Qik name is Diesel828

Log-In to the Qik website to view/delete videos... I received the verification text, but there may be an alternative to verify it from the site...

How to retrieve MSL (easier method no CDMA workshop required)

Ok i saw a few people wanting to find their MSL with out CDMA workshop or customer service. I'll show you how. (I guess this doesn't work for some who installed the OTA update. I installed the OTA and am rooted and it worked for me.)
1. Install aLogcat from the market (its awesome and free)
2. From your dial pad dial ##3282# when the EPST menu pops up select view mode
3.Open aLogcat let it run for a sec and let it catch up
4. Press menu then press send and select email
5. Enter your own email address and send it
6. From your computer open the email and hit CTRL and F at the same time it will bring up a search bar
7. In the search bar type in MSL and hit enter
8. You should now be looking at a line like this
I/EpstBroadcastReceiver( 2089): MSLCODE 1:+HTC_RMSL:######
the #s are where your MSL will be
9. You are welcome!!

I heard this doesn't work anymore after the ota. I have tried a similar method using the ame app but no luck. Does emailing the log make a difference cuz i just scanned the log on the phone looking for that msl entry.

Couldn't find it. Followed each step to a T.
I'm on the latest OTA, rooted, BTW.

They fixed it with the first OTA. If you can get back to a pre-ota stock then that works fine.
Otherwise the easiest way is to simply call Sprint and ask.

Then you bought our phone with it already updated most likely. Because it works with the base ROM that the Evo was released with. It's how I got mine.

this should not be posted in the development subforum. An article stating the same thing, which afaik doesnt work any longer due to the first OTA, has already been created over a month ago. The easiest way is to call Sprint and ask them. It takes two minutes.

As an FYI if you want the mods to move something (given that I doubt they have time to sift through every post of every thread) click the little ! icon on the upper right corner of the OP. That brings the post to their attention.

i have the ota (rooted) and it worked for me
if you want a good reason to give sprint customer service tell them every time you open an app that uses gps the phone crashes. tell them you need to reset the gps receiver using ##4772579# and you need your msl to do so. they didnt even ask me why when i asked for mine.

no i just find it easier to scan stuff on the computer especially since my log was 10+ pages

perhaps OP can change the name of this thread since it does work once the OTAs have been applied....hence it is wrong.

Seems there is now a Hulu Plus app available according to engadget.com/2011/06/22/hulu-plus-for-android-is-available-now-if-you-can-install-it/.
Anyone try to get that working on our SGT's?

I'm thinking that it might only run on official gingerbread. My nexus s 4g can run it and it's on 2.3.4

So, now the Galaxy Tab is running 2.3.4 also.

just installed the APK ya it says no support bummer anyone modified this yet to work on more devices? I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 running Rooted Gingerbread CDMA Sprint Rom.

and I can get screen caps from sever browsers stating otherwise and a long list of people who also say it does not work so ya... feel free to post a video though showing that its working and what you did to back your instructions.

where did I call you a liar? I said that it wasnt working and that a lot of other people were having issues so to put pictures to back your instruction so we can see where some of us could be doing it wrong... sheesh talk about over reacting a tad.... for example maybe Im doing a step wrong so by adding pictures we get confirmation of what we are doing, so like this step "Open browser, change ua to linux desktop, mac desktop or IE6" could you expand on this a bit more?
okay the only ua string options I see is
Android - Doesnt work get message that I need to update Adobe Flash
Desktop - Doesnt work get the same message
iPhone - Does work but so far every tv show, movie, clip, or trailer I click say The video is not available on the iPhone
so ya if you can go over the string part and let us know which your using that would be appreciated.

Well, it does,
just takes the ability to know that you have to complete all the steps listed in any instructions for anything to work.
a correct way to say it, would have been something like:
"I tired your apk, and here is a pic of the error, ( insert pick here)
I see that your on such and such rom, does it only work for that style of rom, or did I do something wrong?"
Well something, somewhere around something like that.

Now,
open your stock browser
Press menu
Go to setings
(Some stock browsers make you got into Advanced settings to see next option, some don't)
Select user agent
If your browser doesn't offer this option, you fail a step and the logical next step is to get a browser/rom that has that option.

so then what browser are you using then and what string are you using, obviously it would make sense to post your exact settings if its working for you. if your running a custom string then alright Dolphin HD lets us use custom so again like you said providing more information helps and works both ways.

anyhow, I am wanting to watch hulu.com on my asus tf101. the builder number is 8.6.5.13.the android version is 3.2.1
I have heard people say to root it, but I am unsure how to do it. I tried a couple of sites, but they seemed old and I would find myself half way through with a link not working.
so all I have is what came on it. I just purchased it today. if you know what will make it work best to watch hulu.com thank you so much. I'll be watching this thread so please ask away if you need any more information.
also I do not paying for anything as long as it works. hence I purchased hulu plus. BUT it did not carry all the shows like it does online.

ok I went to the ravor claw website. do I open it in APK or source? I tried both and it does not reconize in what for to open it in.
do I run it or save it.
but I have tried all the ways and it does not know what application to help run it with. and when I click the serach the web it does not find anything.

on your TF .
Do the allow unknown apps permission first.
Just click on apk and it will load
Once you are rooted Do the following
go to market get superuser load
go to market get OTA rootkeeper then load
If you are strugglng with this I recommend you do not go any further (ie roms kernels)

I'am almost sure razorclaw will not work because it is based on 8.6.5.19.
It checks the version and also needs (fixed) asus-backup which was delivered with 8.6.5.19.
You can try it, but it will fail.

easy to upgrade from 13 to 19. harder to get back. But based on difficulty with simple Nachoroot poster asking questions should stick with stock.

only luck I've had so far is with www.playon.tv . I'm on their 2 week free trial right now but considering the upgrade.

[Q] PLEASE Help. Bit of a mess

Hi guys, First post and firstly, thank you to everyone here as I have spent years coming to this site and reading posts and using it as a bible for android.
Now I'd like to blame this on someone else but i made the mistake and it's a stupid one as i knew better but kinda rolled the dice.

And it worked perfectly on my Note 1.
I have been going through call recorders in the app store and the only one that worked was Automatic call recorder. However while having trouble with my google app account i had to get a call recorder working as i had an important call to make and i went back to that thread above and flashed the application on my NOTE TWO.
Of course it didnt seem to work.
However ive now got my google app account working so i was able to pay for the premium version of automatic call recorder, and what do you know, it records calls terribly, but worse than that i get a notification saying it has not worked properly and saved the call because something else is trying to record the call.
So of course i believe it is that thread above which i flashed to my phone.
I have gone back and restored to a previous version, wiped phone and factory reset and all that but it still appears something else is trying to record the call.
Could someone please tell me how i remove my mistake from the phone that i flashed and be rid of it?
That app in the thread i have linked to is awesome on note one but of course it wasnt made for my note 2 N7105 lte.
I want to delete it but cant find it anywhere in the files or im obviously not looking in the right polace or not knowing how to remove something ive flashed.
PLEASE help me out here and get this mistake off my phone.
Also if someone knows a call recording app which is amazing for the note 2, please advise.

Hello. Did the developer of the mod gave anything like recover flashable zip? You can contact the dev and ask for one if he has any. Anyway, you can try to read this article (here). It has a Disclaimer, read it please.
And oh, don't you have a backup of your stock rom?
