[Q] Does your clock go wrong on every restart? - G Tablet General

Every time I restart my tablet (CM 6.1), the time zone resets to GMT.
Is anyone else having this problem? I'm considering writing an app to change the time zone on boot and want to see if anyone else would be interested in it.

[Q] Weird issue

Hi everyone,
I searched before I posted, but couldn't find a similar issue.
I'm running Cognition 3.04, and touch input seems to freeze up. If I let the screen go to 'sleep' and unlock the phone it will work for a few seconds, then start freezing again. Sometimes I can just wait a couple seconds and it will accept input. Even after a reboot, it will start this behavior after a few minutes.
The issue goes away when I go back to stock 2.1, though.
I realize the obvious solution is to stay with stock, but I was just curious if anyone else had experienced this and knew of a better solution (who wants to be on stock).
Thanks in advance.
That has happened to me before. Went away with a fresh flash and wipe of cache.

You didn't restore system data when you flashed this, did you?

Do you have any over/underclock settings applied? Are there are any voltage settings that you find?

The first time I flashed, I did that which I later realized to be a huge mistake. When this issue started, I flashed back to stock did a master clear and reflashed Cog, but the issue remains. Is there some step I missed in clearing out the old stuff?
This happens to me in swype occasionally. Super annoying bc it thinks I am taking my finger off the screen when I am not causing swype to be worthless. after a reboot it goes away

I haven't played with anything other than flashing Cognition onto the phone.
I'm going to try going through the whole thing again, but this time not reinstalling any old apps/data through Titanium Backup. I'll set everything from scratch and see if that makes a difference.

[Q] Time and date change by themselves. Anyone else?

Hi,
It's been the fourth time my LG Optimus 7 (NoDo) changes the time and date by itself, without any reason.
This is weird, coz' "automatic time setting" is disabled in the settings.
This is a very annoying bug, especially for appointments and alarm clock.
Anyone else has this bug?
Thanks
This has happened to me just the once - it is really annoying.
Is the phone just changing to some arbitrary date/time, or is it trying to correct to the local time while you are visiting a different time zone?
I'm curious, because I have never seen this problem on my Focus, but I have automatic updates turned on. My phone does (correctly) update whenever I change time zones, and for DST, but that's it.

For instance, today, my phone was on my desk. 11:30AM in Paris - France.
Suddenly, the time changed to 2:20AM and date to 05/22/2011 (instead od 05/20/2011).
I did not touch the phone. Network is good. Automatic time adjustement is disabled.
It's the 4th time it happens. I noticed it is not arbitrary: I mean the date and time are not dramatically different from the real one (date did not change to December 2012 for instance, only 2 days difference).
But it is not a time adjustement, as the difference can be 2 days for instance.
Hmmm... You don't by any chance live in a TARDIS, do you?
Seriously though, I haven't ever even heard of this problem before you mentioned it. Could it be an LG-specific thing? Either way, I would say it is justifiable reason to get a warranty repair/replacement.
One other question, though. Is there a reason you have automatic time adjustment turned off? Maybe turning it on would help.
I've had the same problem. It's totally random. I called LG (mine is an Optimus 7) and my provider and after some time on the phone with both, neither could tell me what the cause of the problem was. Oddly enough it hasn't happened in some time now.

Thanks for ur answer.
I disabled the automatic time adjustment on purpose, after the first time the time changed by itself. I hoped it would help.
But it changed nothing. Time is still changing...
I guess you should open a support ticket with Microsoft as it seems software related issue.
I have the same issue with my Omnia 7 after doing a combo update (7390+7392).
This didn't happen before that.
Quite frustrating as I'm using my phone as an alarm clock. I'd hate being late at work because of that.
Hi all,
I've also encountered the same issue as OP. Same phone as well. Did exactly the same thing with time settings and even did a hard reset but still returns.
I've noticed it happens when I'm listening to music, it would have either a small pause (which means I know the time has changed) or stops music altogether (need to reboot phone). And with every time those events occur, the time jumps into the future.
I've had this phone sent for repairs because it stopped turning on, which they may have replaced the board.
People still having these issues?
Also by chance, did you guys did the chevronwp7 no brand hack to get nodo? I did and also rolled back to original carrier rom.
Sounds like you all are using an LG phone, so maybe this is some specific driver or hardware feature that LG has included onto their devices.
Has never happened to me on my HD7. I would never buy an LG phone so I don't know what they do to their devices.
HTC... never issues with times and/or dates.

[Q] Home screens duplicate or disappear when everyday reboot

Hi, i searched all over the internet. But i couldn't find anything related to this issue.Everytime i reboot my device in the morning,if i have 2 home screens , definitely one would be duplicated or one would be erased.I should say that duplicated screen or disappeared screen doesn't come back to its original position until i rearrange those screens.I'm on stock 4.4 Kitkat.I haven't root or did anything to the device.I don't know what causes this bug.Anybody have this same issue?I would appreciate any help.Thank you.
So no one encountered that kind of bug?
update to the latest 4.4.1 came out a couple days ago and see if that fixes the problem.
Are you running a beta of any launchers or just running the stock one?
Never had this issue when I was on stock 4.4.
let us know

Sorry, i expressed myself wrongly.I don't reboot every morning, just boot my phone after overnight charge.
Guys, I have the same problem. About twice a week I am losing one of my 4 home screens.
It always happens after a reboot of the N5. Always the 4th one is gone, and it doesn't come back if I do another reboot.
It's not at every reboot, but surely annoying, since the whole screen is gone.
Haven't had the problem with 4.4, started with 4.4.2.
And pls, no questions, why I reboot my device, this doesn't help to this topic.
Hi,
I am the one who started the tread. The bug is gone after the 4.4.2 update.Hope you find a way to fix that.

Wrong, if you're rebooting cause you're having an issue it could be related to the problem of losing your screens. More information is always better and if you provide incomplete information then people will ask questions.
Please don't ask for help and then act like you're above the people trying to help. Thank you.
There is another bug regarding this and is it related to GEL where some people are ending up with an extra home screen and have to hold an icon and release to get rid of it. I am pretty sure it is related.

Every night, I turn my phone off. In the morning it will be turned on again
No technical reason.
It's a strange bug, never had this with other versions of Android / phones.

Hi,
I have all the same problem about the disappearing additional home screens: it appens randomly(apparently) when ,at the moring, I turn on my Nexus 5.
(last standard firmware 4.4.2 on,GEL Launcher and Google Now disable).
I found this other strange thing: when i found disappearead additional home screens, if I had new home screens with only app in each, when I reboot, SOMETIMES, i found the old disappeared home screens(whit the preovious app icons in them)
I thought it was a problem of "Clean Master" "Delete Junk Files" operation but I cant reproduce the problem everytime.
Anyone have hints about this problem?
thanks
PS: Happy New Year!!

It's the same for me. Today I turned on the phone and the last home screen was disappeared. No way to recover it. I'm thinking to install an alternative launcher.

System UI has stopped after every reboot

I've searched the forums and not found an answer that can help me outside of wipe and start over. I'm hoping to avoid that.
Every time I reboot I am presented the error: Unfortunately, System UI has stopped. I can't seem to find what has triggered it and how to get it back on track. Anyone experienced this before? Are there any apps I should be looking for that are known for triggering this behavior?
Thanks for any thoughts!

Little more info - what rom are you running do you have Xposed installed? etc.... Also what have you done to to try and remedy the situation
ya know a clean wipe is not the worst thing in the world, so many treat it like it is

I had a problem early on and at first it was adfree and then it seemed like it was a live wallpapers causing the problems.
Adfree removed and changed to a stock wallpaper and haven't seen the problem since.

Yep, relented and wiped it. Built it out with just one of my Gmail IDs and let it build up from there, no external APKs, no tinkering of configuration and just got the System UI error again. I really don't want to have to reboot after every app install :-|
It goes away after tapping OK a few times and seems to operate fine thereafter, just bothered by it at this point.

Date and Time Issue?

Hey guys!
I'm having an odd issue with date and time upon reboot.
In the Date and Time settings, both "Automatic Time Zone" as well as "Automatic Date and Time" are switched on.
I'm in Australia (GMT+10) and whenever I restart my phone, the time goes back by 10 hours. I have to go I to my settings and toggle the "Automatic Date and Time" setting off and on before it goes back to the right time.
Has anyone else encountered this? Or any ideas as to what may be causing this?
My OP6 is currently running OOS 5.1.9 with xXx rom, Magisk 16.7, Franco Kernel and TWRP 3.2.2.0. (I've also checked my TWRP time zone and it's also at +10)
I've tried disabling xXx and the issue still remains, so it's not coming from there.
It's been consistent for the last few OOS versions too, so nothing a recent software update has fixed.
Thanks in advance!
Well, I cannot offer a solution but I would go with a clean install and then check one by one which of you many modifications is causing the error.

Either a bug (un likely it's not a widespread issue) or something is causing your phone to think it's somewhere else. Did you possible choose a different country when setting up your phone so it is defaulting to that time zone until it updates using your location?

Yeah I was thinking of doing this, I just didn't want to go through the hassle ? but if it has to be done then I'll do it.

Hmm I honestly don't remember setting it up haha it was a while ago. But I'm sure I would have selected the right one, I'm normally quite thorough with my setup.
Hey I'm in Bris and getting the same issue... did you ever solve? It's happening straight out of the box I haven't modified a thing.
