I recently activated a donations button after a few weeks of going back and forth. I wasn't sure if I wanted to do that, but I'll be very honest that I wouldn't mind grabbing a "dev" unit if I can find one on the cheap, in the Outlet. Having two active mods is definitely tough with one device. So I figured every little bit would help.
I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who's donated, already. I am humbled and flattered and amazed at the generosity here and I really appreciate it. I think even my wife is amazed to the point that she might not bug me as much for being a "tech widow", as she likes to put it.
Just donated! Thanks for all your hard work. I'm loving the VEGAn rom!
Me too. Many thanks, Roebeet.
Thanks to you both!!!
Donated. You are the reason why I got this gadget to begin with...
Merry Xmas dude...
Sent a little monetary love your way as well. Looking forward to what you can do once we get the source from Viewsonic!

Hey your wife gives you crap because you are uploading your stuff, my wife gives crap because I'm downloading your stuff. It's all good...
My way of saying thanks.
You have been doing a wonderful job with your 2 mods. Both are the reason for getting a G Tab in the first place. Many, Many Thanks.

OMG I'm having flashbacks of "It's a Wonderful Life", except that Mr. Potter is Tap N' Tap Inc., and the everyone's sending Hee Haw telegrams over a series of tubes.
You guys do such a fantastic job, it should be us thanking you. Thank you for everything.

Sent some money your way. I am enjoying my GTab because of all the time you put into making the device worth keeping.
Keep up the good work.
Happy Holidays
James
Merry Christmas! And thank you!
Donated too. I'm just reviving my skills as an old skool linux and java developer and hacking away at the Gtab is just what I needed to both get into the Andorid platform, while having fun at same time!! Thanks Roebeet for all the hard work and thank your wife for being the longsuffering "tech widow".
BTW: Also ordering the dock to get the pinouts to build a better docking station (HDMI + built in USB hub) -- so looking forward to giving back a little in the near future!

Man I gotta say that I am VERY proud to be part of the captivate community. We have alot of wonderful devs and determined people here! With CM7 and MIUI maturing to a rather stable usable state, and I9000 sourced 2.3.3 roms chugging away, things are just getting better and better here all the time :].
Ditto.

I love how active and changing it is. It seems like every developer here is always hard at work to perfect and update their work, something other phone communities don't seem quite so set on doing. I only wish I had enough programming experience to contribute more than downloading, enjoying and reporting the occasional bug, because the more bustling the better.

Broke ass college student, otherwise I would.
+1 This seems to be a very close knit community. The devs are quick to respond to changes in software, and tend to, for the most part, show an inspiring amount of patience. I am Proud to be apart of this.

You can help them out in the forums, if someone asks a question you know the answer to answer it, the devs really appreciate not having to micro manage the thread and while they are busy with rom updates. That is what I did to help out, I'm now a member of team phoenix because of it.
Yeah if it weren't for the overwhelming community support this phone would be utter crap. Thanks to the devs we are all here.
yeah True, I wouldnt have liked my captivate so much if it wasnt for this amazing community, thank you guys so much
I hope to contribute in future, trying to learn eclipse...
Im proud as well. I have had my cappy since launch and its so cool to see how this community has grown, and the support from the chefs is great. Im always up-talking this forum to other owners that i meet that dont know the actual ability this phone has.
Now if it only was a light sabor too....
Same boat as broke ass college student so I do what I can with answering questions too.
I got my Captivate at the beginning of the year and I still flash ROMS updates as much today as when I first got it. Its because of all the choices that we have as well as updates (still can't believe we are able to run Gingerbread) that makes this phone great.
If and when I am ready to upgrade to my next phone, looking at the XDA development for the phone is going to sway my decision.

Can't be that broke if you can afford a captivate and beer. Heh
I gotta say I agree, most the people here are to cool. I haven't asked alot of question because I've taken the advice I've seen many times and read read read lol. But when I have asked I got quick responses and never a hard time for asking. So now I try to answer any questions I know the answer to so I can say I contributed somehow. I'm glad I can be a part of the community

I could throw some change their way...great Vibrant devs. Have they committed to develop if they get the phone? Might help to hear from them.
Anyway your BirgerTime Paypal link doesn't work.

White and I are dying to play with a new phone. We'll give it all we've got
(by the way, this was jface's idea, white & I didn't know he was doing this, thanks jface)
I will be 110% committed to development on the G2X. First order will be a multitude of lockscreens for everyone to choose from. Roman has been developing all kinds of status bar tweaks and such which can be viewed here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1123830.
Since the G2X is aosp based we will be able to do so much more with it. That and that fact that Roman is a java master. Needless to say, I dont think anyone will be disappointed.
BTW - thanks jumaan for getting this going.

Good to hear you guys are interested. I looked at some of your work and was very impressed. I donated a bit...will do more next week (after payday).
A note to everyone complaining about a perceived lack of development...devs can't afford to purchase every new device that they are willing to support (working for free). If you want more development, support it. Skip the morning Starbuck's and give a couple bucks...just my two cents.
just donated to both of you
hope you guys get the phone!
but while your waiting i have sgs4g favor to ask hehe
anyway you guys can deodex the GB rom with root inside please
i rooted the rom just cant get it to deodex

Hey guys! I just wanted you all to know that I have finally moved away from the Thunderbolt.
I wish you all the best of luck with the development! Thank you to all of the developers who still carry on development for the device. Without you guys, I would have left the bolt over a year ago... but you guys kept it cool and worth staying with.
Also thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way.
I recently moved and the Thunderbolt no longer maintains even WiFi for some reason... so I was forced to move away from it.
Again, thank you all for everything!
Have fun with your new device.

Sad to see you go bud, was fun having you around, and a few of your posts really cracked me up (see dickmode). Enjoy your new device!
Haha! Yeah, we had some good times on here for sure!
Thanks for all the memories and help from all of you!
I'll still pop in every now and then I'm sure. Hope to cross roads again with you guys later on!
Take care everyone!
Well, I also left the ranks. My family has been pressuring me to get them their first smartphones, and by the time we were through at the cell phone store, I had one too. While I really was hoping to get the next great phone (eg, a Nexus 4x with replaceable battery, SD card, and LTE), we all went with what I think is still the best combination of size, speed, and features (replaceable battery, memory) while also having a community for future, um, er, rooting fun. The Samsung Galaxy SIII. I was tempted by the Note 2 but the thing is just too big; the S3 almost seemed too big, but it is also nice and thin.
Anyway, I will miss the Thunderbolt. I was really fortunate with my ROM choices (SOAB, Thundershed, and Santod's ICS Eternity). SOAB was a good entry to rooting, Tshed was bulletproof, and Eternity was fast, smooth and awesome in features and performance. But most of all I will miss the awesome developers who contributed to their talents and time to make the Thunderbolt better that what HTC and Verizon could ever do. And the great community here and on other bulletin boards. People like QuickDraw, who has always been quick with the advice or support.
I have some Thunderbolt accessories free for the asking. A Rezound battery. A slightly broken Platinum holster case in black (one small piece of the case broke off but it doesn't seem to effect the use at all and you wouldn't even see it if you didn't look) and a virtually unused PowerSkin case. Let me know if you want em and I will ship them to you. At some point I may even give up the Thunderbolt itself.
Thanks again everyone...

Hey Guys.... I am reaching out to the community in hopes of finding someone that is willing to donate their infuse to me so that i can continue my development for this device. My Infuse is currently in poor condition as the USB connector is pretty much screwed. As of the past couple months, I have had to keep the device positioned correctly in a certain way so that the cable (whether just charging or mounted) stays connected and any slight movement would disconnect. It has gotten worse since that point and is almost at the point i am unable to connect to charge it. So.... Can anyone out there help me out? If you are not familiar with my work, please check out the links in my signature. Thanks.

Scott,
Stupid question but have you by chance tried a different usb cable? I had the same issue on mine and still do. i have 2-3 cables that will fall right out of the port or not charge unless possitioned correctly. i tried a brand new cable and my problem was gone. Just figured i would throw it out there incase it helps the situation.

Thanks very much scott for the continues development to our device and for the dedications and hardwork you have given to the infuse community, and to rwaterspf1 we we're very grateful for your generosity thanks very much sir.
Thank you all for the kind words. Without the developers here on xda we would all be stuck with whatever the OEM's wanted to push on us. I have been using Scott's ROMs and have learned a ton about Android from reading posts here. I recently got an ATT Galaxy SIII and from what I have learned here on xda have ported Scott's Beanstalk so I can have the goodness on my new phone! I am very happy to be able to have a way to actually give something back to this community.

I'm wondering...
Have you sourced out the board the connector is mounted to? I can only assume it can't be that expensive given the age of the device. I can't remember but I think I may have the breakdown and parts list somewhere... Prolly on a hard drive here somewhere.
I just think you could do twice as much with 2 working devices....
Don't know whats more awesome, such an amazing dev or such an amazing community!
