Hello guys. I have a question and i couldnt find a solution anywhere and in the past 3 days i have been to hundreds of websites.
My question is. I have a brand new evo and i want to root it but unrevoked doesnt work with my version of software. Is there an updated rooting procedure yet for my evo ( specs listed below)

Thanks guys i appreciate it

Mytouch 3g rooting....

I know this topic is ALL over this forum and about a thousand others. That is why it is so confusing.
I am having issues when trying to "root".
I have tried the flashrec 1 click method. I get an erro "main version is older" Updated failed.
So I am hoping someone can let me know WTF is going on and which is the best process for my handset.
Here is my handset specs:
T-Mobile mytouch 3G
Firmware Version: 1.6
Baseband Version: 62.50s.20.17u_2.2219.26i
Kernel Version: 2.6.29-00479-g3c7df37
android-buildapa26#19
Build Number: DRC92
Board Version: 32B
I know this process is not too difficult, but I just seem to be getting lost in all of the different ways of doing this....
Im also seeing blog posts about not being able to root a 1.6 yet, and that you have to downgrade to 1.5???
TIA
You cannot one click root if you are on 1.6. That is the issue that you are running into. You need to downgrade to 1.5, then you can one click root. It says it on all of the one click tutorials...

Once updated the official way (RUU from HTC website from AT&T), bringing your phone to android 2.2.2, then their is currently no way to root it. If you rooted from android 2.1 then updated using Cyanogenmod, then go here and use this to root: http://unrevoked.com/recovery/. Download, run it and follow instructions. N.B- This (current version - 3.32) will not work on factory updated android 2.2.2.
P.S. - You should have made this thread in the HTC Aria General section here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=681.
I don't know is that official way i updated my phone.
It was like auto update.
A message poped out and ask me whether want to update the version or not.
Is 2.2 and 2.2.2 equivalent ?
How if i never root before ??

Check your hboot version. Instructions:
1. Turn off your phone
2. Hold volume down
3.Power on (still holding volume down)
Look at HBOOT and reply what version you have. If it is 1.02.0000, then your phone is currently unrootable. If you see 0.57, then you can root your phone by doing what I said in my first post. I don't know why it only says 2.2, but the hboot version will tell it all.
The Asian release was just 2.2
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
Yea its 1.02.0000 =.=" bad news :/

[Q] About rooting 2.3.3 DesireHD

Recently, I updated my DHD to 2.3.3 via wifi.
the soft version is 2.36.921.15
kernel version is 2.6.35.10
I read the thread of "Advanced Ace Hack Kit (UPDATED 08-10-2011)"http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1259821
Now, I have several newbie questions.
My DHD was bought in Taiwan, s-off ,non-rooted ever before.
Could I use this hack kit to my DHD to root. Will it have any influence to my rom or radio which i'm using now, because my rom is a asia&pacific rom rather than a AT&T rom.
Hope my newbie questions could be answered, thanks a lot.
