I have a rather unique problem and have been searching all over for a fix. I have tried googles android help forums and they directed me here as well as pocketnow.com directed me here as well.
I bought a nexus one a few months ago and decided to root it with universal androot. When i did this I also downloaded titanium backup which means I was able to delete any bloatware I wanted.
I was very excited and decided to delete twitter and amazon mp3. I now realize that I cant update without having these system apps.
My Nexus one is not rooted anymore and I am running stock 2.2 I am wondering how to fix my problem and I would really appreciate any help!
my full info is:
Device: NEXUS ONE
Carrier: T-MOBILE
Country / Language: CANADA
OS / Browser / build number (if applicable): 2.2
Model number: Nexus one
Android version: 2.2
Baseband version: 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.12_7

Hi folks
I purchased the Nexus S with the intention of getting the full 'Google experience' after previously owning a T-Mobile branded Hero and waiting months for updates because of HTC and then T-Mobile customisations.
Now I'm reading Vodafone has a slightly modified rom and as a result am assuming I may have to wait for them to clear 2.3.4?
What I'm looking to achieve right now is a stock i9023 build which will update as Google release their OTA updates, is this possible?
I've already rooted the device, although at the moment I'm not too worried about having root access for anything other than getting a stock build on the phone. In time I'll probably try custom roms as I did for the Hero.
Current build is:
2.3.3
I9023XXKB1
2.6.35.7-g1d030a7
andriod-build (at) apa28 #1
GRI40
I also have a "Vodafone" Nexus S and manually updated it to 2.3.4.
No problems what so ever...
Thanks, just the nudge I was looking for... Now running 2.3.4
I own a Galaxy Tab P1000, 16 GB, 3G, WiFi, GPS etc.
Firmware: 2.2
Baseband version: P1000DXjj2
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9 / root(at)SE-S604#1
Build number: FROYO.DXJK2
Now my question is: Could I directly upgrade to Gingerbread 2.3.3?
Let say I would like to upgrade to the Overcom 2.3.3 Beta/latest, could I upgrade directly?
And what's the procedure? Is there a Wiki or Tutorial available?
Thanks for any answer and sorry if I aske questions which were answered many times before. But I wasn't able ti find those answer, or better to many answers and was get confused.
Thanks again for understanding.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I recently bought used i717 on Ebay. It is supposed to be unlocked but have not been able to confirm as the standard code does not work. Have not been able to root as superoneclick does not work. Finally got it to connect to Kies but Kies states latest ROM is installed.
When I go to Settings >>> About Phone - Model Number is Samsung SGH-i717, Android Version 2.3.6, Baseband Version T989UVKL1, Kernel version 2.6.35.11, Build number Gingerbread.UCLA1
When I boot up the ATT logo stuff is displayed and there was a bunch of ATT bloatware apps installed, most of which I deleted as I do not use ATT
Don't remember where I was but on one web site about upgrading stated that baseband version should be I717UCLA1, I717UCLF6, or I717UCMB4 before updatingand that It will be I717UCMD3 after the update.
I have discovered that the Baseband Version T989UVKL1 is for an SGH-T989, T-Mobile Samsung Galasy S II, which is probably the reason it won't update through Kies.
I want to upgrade to Jelly Bean 4.1.2.
Have considered Cyangenomod but afraid that with the non-ATT baseband I might brick it.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am new to this and it has been very confusing so far.
Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 SPH D710VMUB Virgin Mobile running 4.0.4 and want to update to 4.1.2. I have searched all over the internet for help but nothing for my specific model. I don't want to update to the latest android version. I really need the help and very much appreciate the assistance. Will I have to root? I am fine with that, but i will need to know every step to get my device to 4.1.2. Thank you very much!
