I stumbled on this in my Korean Tab. Found them at My Files => apk => SketchMemo.apk
Sketch Memo is a simple sketch pad with basic drawing tools including color, brush size, text etc. Cute and effective to make a basic sketch for notes. I used it to sketch a basic layout for the kitchen we are remodeling.

What firmware version are you using.
If so, could you please pm me the apk or post it so we can all take a dab at it?
thanks

Does anyone knows a good OFFLINE note making app..??which creates text note, image note and also backup the notes to SD card.
Yeah, its called Notes
Try Simple Notepad! Besides doing all of the above it can also create widgets (even translucent/transparent ones ) and the devs are nice and quick about replying to bugs etc. High recommended.
AKNotepad is really good!

Dear all, I've been using Android for quite a while. I have a question related to LINE application, one of the famous chat application available in the market.
As we know, this application is supported for both Android and iOS. Thus, when there is some message being sent from iOS users who included the Emoji font, our Android is not able to see that font. Our Android system shows just only the block of square.
I've try to do something as in this link See EMOJI and other fonts! [ROOT USERS] But, it still showing the square block.
Does anyone have any other method to see the emoji in LINE application?
Thank you very much in advance
PS. I'm using Huawei Ideos X6 U9000 ROM MIUI 1.11.11
Newer iOS (5) uses Unicode encoding for emoji, old version (4) uses old encoding.
The mentioned font only support old encoding, so I have built a new DroidSansFallback font, in case you want to try: http://lazyfai.dyndns.org/emoji/DroidSansFallback-emoji-ics.ttf
Rename to DroidSansFallback.ttf before writing to the device.
^ is this color or black and white only?

I have tried this, at least there are some symbols show up.
But some kind of Smiley face is still in square block.
I'm looking forward to find ways to make it more compatible with android
Thanks

Great app! just added it to the OP.
markers is a good one also that seems to react to the S Pen pretty well..
Just Recived mine , and this is what i made, after i purchased sketchbook pro, btw with the new update, it looks unlike most reviews, that the pen is abit quicker. I might have a bad pen, due to the canvas not picking up the lightest pressure. But thats easily replaceable, everything else is great!:good:
It's a lil dumb drawing, but i wanted to try it out.

It does show that it has pressure sensitivity. Added to OP.
The TV Paint app looks really just like a port From the PC version. Which is really nice actually! The downside... if you aren't familiar with the software, you aren't going to have a good time..

Yeah. It is very specific type of drawing program. For example (don't know if in this version) cutting something out makes a brush out of it immidiately.
Actually.. it isn't even meant for drawing stills I believe.. It's main target is animation. Seeing (as far as I looked) this being a full port, you can create reaallllyy awesome animation **** with this! Might give it a go
Oh wow... played around with the brushes... did a quick drawing for a nice screenie

Hmmm... sorry about the previous image failing..
Edit: did a really quick and rough animation test with tv paint..
I'm not really familiar yet with tv paint, but wanted to take a quick look at the export features..
The software looks like a port with some touch control related improvements.. shortcuts are still available in their classic pc form, which might actually be great if you would use a bluetooth keyboard to operate this program. Considering my and co-students animating experience, it's almost a MUST to be able to easily use many shortcuts, which makes getting such keyboard (almost) a must-buy to fully utilize this programs potential on any tab and get the best experience with it.
There's the possibility to export to Quicktime MOV, AVI, MP4, PNG/JPG/other image sequences.. Unfortunately only container options with 3 possible bit-rate settings (namely: .2, 1 and 5 Mbps) and no real codec settings. (eg. MPEG-2, H.264, etc...) (Something I really miss!!!!! )
Framerate is ofcourse controlled by project settings, but they have the ability to export to various custom settings as can be seen in the screenshot.
Video test: http://youtu.be/neZDRf8bvv8
I might review this program thoroughly in this thread in the near near future when I have some more time on my hands...
And lastly;
TV Paint is one of THE drawing apps currently on the play store for serious content creators..... DISCUSS!

(never mind, I thought maybe Windows version has more options but from what I remember it was EXACTLY the same)
Markers is awesome for simple sketching! the pressure detection is very good on the ink style brushes, too bad you can only pick from preselected colours. still, nice for making simple value sketches
others with pressure detection:
free:
canvas lite: (can paint quite nice sketch style paintings with the 2nd brush) kind of fun somehow. has long press = eyedropper function. in the pro version you can make your own brushes from 50px canvases, which works surprisingly well! it is very crashy though.
plouik: (stroke dies extremely quickly)
una paint: has pressure... i guess if you want to draw oekaki style stuff, sure
layerdraw: pressure makes the ENTIRE stroke fat uniformly. I have no idea what anyone would use this for
voytpaintfree: nice pressure! you can get very smooth strokes on it as long as you don't make very fast curves, but it's pretty limited (couldn't find an opacity setting). haven't tried the pro vers.
paid:
doodledroid: for 99 cents, it's okay. the pressure curve is pretty bad, width doesn't start at zero so you're limited to making somewhat chunky ink strokes. but you can make some painterly type sketches.
drawing pad: i regret this purchase, it's like a child's crayon. all of the tools.
stuff that is really useless or didn't work for me:
HTC Flyer Canvas and scribble
Paintbox for tablets (drawing a curve is so bad it draws a square when you try to draw a circle) pressure what pressure?
scribble: claimed to have pressure sens, didn't even get to draw anything before it crashed my note once, then crashed again after reboot. deleted!
crayondoodle: just don't bother.
other useful stuff:
overskreen - floating browser that uses your default 'internet' browser to make a popup window. resizes perfectly, great for popping up reference images over your painting app. there was a free popup browser app but I didn't think it worked very well in comparison.

hey, no worries! Thanks for compiling the list, I'm hoping people will find something that works for them, buy it and support more development for android. The Note has so much potential... and I'm trying not to rely too much on the beta of TV paint, arg
It's a real shame most people's first experience will be with PS touch, because it really makes the Note look like crap.

I'm just wondering if someone can elaborate on this a little bit and let us know how to fix this. I don't seem to have the productivity toolbar or haven't found where to select it. Specifically I can't do the handwriting recognition.
Thanks
The first icon enables or disables edit.
Next to this, in fact to the right of it, is a group of 4 icons.
The first is the drawing icon, next is the icon that you're looking for.
By double tapping it you can change between various features including formula, shape and text recognition.
Maybe this is common knowledge but I just discovered today that different templates have different functions embedded in them that apparently aren't available in other templates, e.g. long pressing on the contacts field in the meeting template allows you to bring up your contacts, you can also bring up a change date window in the date field etc.
In the diary you can change the weather icon types, in travel you can open maps app and import a clipping of an area and so on. It's very disappointing that you cannot seem to insert/use these fields in every note. The functions you want don't appear to be in a memo based note but are in others.

Agreed. This seems like quite an oversight on Samsung's part. You should be able to use all of the functionality regardless of the template. This took me a while to figure out until I watched their videos over again and picked up on this.

Same issue here. You have to pick a template to suit what you want to create. Its quite confusing. There also seems to be little documentation about what template has what tool.I can understand the floating note pad not having all tools but everything in the full snote app should have them. Maybe a tools toggle button to turn on and off what you want in the tool bar would make even more sense.
But i still enjoy the device

Hi. Pls let me know if you ever found out if the memo template has the productivity tools icon. I also can't find it.
productivity tools
To reach the handwriting to text, click on the productivity tools twice or hover over the button with your s pen and click once (looks like the shape button) a drop down menu will show up with the handwriting to text on the last options. Hopes this helps :fingers-crossed:
HI all
I have note 10.1 2014, and the snote does not have productivity tool icon in any template I have tried. Can someone help me?
The attached image is what I get in snote:
thanks
couldnot attach the image, here is the link instead: image
The templates that come with snote have fields like date and time and other such objects not available within snote itself. The templates that are pre-packaged are nice but I would like to add others.
How do you create snote templates? Is there an app for this? Is there a how-to that details the extra features that you can put in a template?

Also the possibility of using your own pictures as background would be great

For the Templates Background to be change, the images in the "template_custom_bg_q1" folder inside the apk need to be changed. It contains all the backgrounds for SNote.
For complete templates, you need to create SNB files and place them in folder assets\templates.
Not sure if this is in the Galaxy Note (phone) version of S-Notes but in the Note 10.1 (8013) there is an option to import your own image as a background file. Not sure about how to get the input fields to work but you can import a new image.
How to create a S-Note Template from a PDF file
When I imported pdf files, I just started Snotes, the app, not a new note, and under the menu picked import. Choose the pdf file but if you get the box that asks what to use to open it, ignore it, click on the screen with your pdf, make sure the file is selected and choose done up at the top. you'll magically go back to the snote screen with your pdf document showing. In order to save it, you'll have to at least make a mark and then can erase it so the save option will be available. When it's the blank you'd like to save to use each time, you can name it and save it as it is. Just be careful that whenever you open it to start a new blank, you need to rename the changed document so it doesn't overwrite your blank form. If it's helpful, when you're ready to save the 'template' open the menu and choose set as shortcut. That will give you the fresh template on your home screen. I put several running notes on my home screen that way and a blank 'template' - an Snote the way I like it set up. Just be careful not to overwrite it as I've accidently done a few times. Now I have extra blank copies.
