[Q] Error in server response - MMS

I'm running Black Ice and I'm getting "Error in server response" when trying to send an MMS.
I found this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=847403), but I'd hate to have to update all my contacts to from (123) 456-7890 to 1234567890 format.
Any better options?
Thanks,
Ryan
Actually, using Outlook 2010 I can't even change the numbers to 1234567890 format, it automatically switches them back to (123) 456-7890 on save.
I have ~600 contacts, so switching them all isn't a great option, even if I can find a way to do it.
All galaxy s phones have had this problem at one time or another. The only solutions are change your apn settings or change every number to 1234567890

Are you using the KB5 modem? I've only had problems with that using that modem. KD1 was meant to fix that problem and others in KB5.
Umm factory reset maybe,would help

Carrier IQ on SGS4G?

So I've been reading about this Carrie IQ stuff and was wondering if anyone knows where it's located on the phone so I can either remove it or freeze it with titanium? Thanks in advance for your help/advice.

If you figure out how to shut it off please post for the rest of us
This is what I've found so far, but it's all jargon to me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17227377
I'm sure our dev community can decipher this when they have time. Will keep searching though.

I don't see it
I don't see it here on my SGS4G. I'm running Airfluip's AOSP Style ROM and I don't see the process (Com.carrieriq.tmobile) and when I ran the detector app that the person who published his CarrierIQ findings created, it appeared to have confirmed that I do not have it on my phone. You can get the app here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17612559&postcount=110 to check your own phone.
It appears that Samsung/T-Mo did put it on the SGS2 for T-Mobile according to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1340014 so I wonder if it is in the stock GB update. If any of you check your own devices, please let us know what ROM you are using.

Basically means there is a server problem, usually from too much traffic. Try again in a bit.

Did you have the Project Cheesecake app installed at any time? You may have the Moto server set to one that's not the 'default' server. Or, as alteredlikeness stated, too much traffic. Keep trying if it's not Cheesecake related...

Guys, these updates go out in cycles.
Not everyone will be able to get the ota at the same time.
They release the updates to Imei numbers in a certain order, otherwise they might crash their update servers with EVERYONE hitting them at the same time.
So just keep this in mind, and you should see these updates move through everyone over the next few days.
I'm Still getting the same message Should I consider a fxz from stock rooted 2.3.6 to 2.3.6? Suggestions?

My dad has an atrix 2 and the same thing happened. I just restarted his phone, then checked for update without wifi, then connected to wifi to download it and install it.
The update is rolled out over time to lessen server load. You can do a forced log in to the Motorola update servers by dialing #ELIOT# on your phone. After dialing #ELIOT# reboot your device and go into settings and check for update again. There are some unknown reasons that can make your phone invisible to the update servers. If this is the case a Factory Data Reset will allow your phone to be visible to the update servers again. Good luck.

[Q] my roaming issue- please tell me what prl you have

I posted in another thread that I cannot roam in Canada. I'm on cm10.1.2. I don't get any cell service at all, nevermind data. I have received 2 text messages after found a factory wipe, but then lost my network again.
I'm wondering if I have an old or corrupt prl file. The version I'm running is 15234. The way to check this is settings--aboutphone--status, then scroll down & check what version you're on. If a few people could check that for me& post here I'd be very thankful.
I'm on 15233

Same here.
Solved my issue. It wasn't my prl. I used the phone info app & changed my radio band to "pcs" which allows my phone to find the local cdma network. It won't get data, but I don't mind that.
Thanks for the help, guys.

Sneakin' the update

Currently stock unrooted 4.1.2 for some tests. When I odin'ed back to 4.0.4, I went to settings, about phone, system updates: check for updates and it popped up per usual saying I had an update. I said yes and it preceeded to download. When it had finished it asked another pop up asked to update with the freshly downloaded software. Where does that downloaded software get stored? I wanted to download the new 4.3 system update so I could copy it to my computer and get to investigating but after I download it, I do NOT want to update my phone with it. Wary of anything to do with it because it has locked down and bricked a lot of peoples devices now. Links, pointers, suggestions and all greatly appreciated. Just saw some of the members discussing the dwv blocks which turned me on to this idea.

OTA updates save to /Cache/FOTA after they are downloaded. Btw, we have two 4.3 threads in the General section devoted to our latest OTA. One is titled 4.3 discussion thread and the other is titled along the lines of "4.3 is arriving in October." Both have plenty of discussion going on and are your best bet on following progress on the 4.3 OTA.

Thank you! I've actually been following both of the threads to the letter but this side project of mine is more of a personal nature. If things prove conclusive then I will report findings. Need to take a gander at the low-level code written in C.

@SlimSnoopOS
Do you know if it is safe to check for update, when it says there is one for 4.3, download it and when it is finished downloading, adb pull it onto computer and never select install?

Excluding the ADB part, that's what I did lol I switched to my rooted VRBMF1 rom and did so. OTAs are a two step process. First, it asks if you want to download the update and then once it downloads you'll receive another popup asking if you want to install it at which point you can select Later or Install now. If you stay on stock though, and if you move that update.zip from /Cache, it will repeatedly ask you later to download again so freeze/rename system app "sdm 1.0" if you don't want it to autoinstall if you're asleep or away for too long.
