I'm a huge fan of illusion labs games for the iPhone and I was dissopointed to learn there were no games like TouchGrind or Sway for android, so I emailed illusion labs to see if they had any plans to port these games or something similar to android. This is the response I received:
Hello,
I'm glad you like our games. We have no plans at the moment to port those games to android at the moment. One of the reasons is that the performance is much lower on Android.
Best Regards
Marcus

Low performance seems like a lame excuse to me coming from an owner of a beastly Samsung Vibrant. Also, my iPhone 3G under-performs most android phones by a long shot and plays these games perfectly fine. I think performance is a poor excuse with some of the top selling android devices having GPU's capable of pushing more pixels then the iPhone, like the Galaxy S line.
I think illusion labs is seriously underestimating android and the demand for high quality android games on the platform. My proposal? Show them there is damand! Download labyrinth (illusion labs only android port) rate it and leave comments demanding they port the other games! And email illusion labs at: [email protected]
Tell them how badly android needs quality games and how perfectly capable android is at games.
Some screenshots of what we are missing out on.

Low performance? What a joke. Let them fall behind then.
Its probably due to iphone being optimized for hardware draws while anything below Gingerbread isn't (we also have JIT unoptimized for Froyo). Makes sense. Also don't forget android is fragmented when it comes to hardware, theres just too many dif configs. You should email the devs back and tell them that your vibrant basicly is a iphone 4 as we have almost the same hardware (but a teeny faster gpu but its basicly a hummingbird cpu/gpu combo) also did you know Samsung makes the cpu's for Apple? we basicly have iphone 4's with a unoptimized os.
Im sure they've seen the latest Ios/Android split for themselves.
Must be nice for them to have money to burn, Leave them to it..
The only app I fancied was the Tech Deck one and even that one I couldn't see myself playing tbh..

Lol, that is exactly why we're better than iPhone. They need a "guitar" to showcase what it can do. Ohh, iPhone, touch a string, and wow oooohhh Wow. I believe our Pocket PC's don't need a "guitar" to prove we're better.
*Pulls of PPC* 3G, oooohhh aahhh. GPS. oooohhh aahhhh
"Hi, I'm a mac, I can play the guitar". "Hi, I'm a boring PC, all I do is surf at HSPDA speed.
iPhone? Please!
At least we have the freedom to develop a program that will run on a PPC and we're not locked out of our OS!
Also there are cool programs like Songbook and Songsheet, great for learning, but if you want to play guitar, might I suggest, just a thought now, a GUITAR!
"Crap guys...the iPhone can do something kind of cool that we can't do. Time to belittle it".
Yeah, because us Windows Mobile users NEVER point out things that are very niche as to why our phones are as good/different/better than the iPhone.
I think its a cool app. cant' be done on the PPC though because of lack of multitouch support.
watching some PPC users reactions to iPhone stuff I'd swear they were just told they have a small :cough:.
Well, we've had this one for a while

What are the differences between winmo and android?
thanks
Android has a simpler method for installing apps that WinMo tried to emulate, but never even came close. Android also seems to be more customizable than WinMo, and once it's rooted, a lot more modifications can be done without having to flash the phone. Almost all of the apps I had on my Pure I've found Android equivalents for, and more. Beyond that, the differences will probably be more related to improvements in the phone itself.
Before this summer I sold my HTC Diamond so I could afford the HTC Desire... I've been a true WM fan for years. And I also think I was a bit weird since I actually enjoyed using a stylus Since I loved to tweak lots of things in the wm registry I was a bit worried that I would miss that in android, I also played around with the xdandroid project in the end before I sold the HTC Diamond.
After using the Desire for one hour or less I thought like OMG! now I understand why windows mobile is so behind!!! Playing around with free apps from the market, using multitouch in the superfast browser, everything felt just awesome! And suddenly I wondered how the hell I've managed to live with Opera Mobile for years. In Android stuff just works! And you can customize everything, you don't even need to root it (even though I recommend it), just install a great launcher like launcher pro and watch the beauty.
And games Android kicks wm into the dust when it comes to games!!! Check out games like N.O.V.A, I play it online against other people and it's super cool. NFS Shift is another game that looks very good! And finally we have Angry Birds on Android too
I could go on forever... expect to be a happier smartphone user!
...And if this reply didn't make much sense I'm sorry but I'm so damn high atm
thanks for the reply. I got my lg yesterday. And ive got to say for £99 its a bargain! Android is just amazing! Free app in the market. And its so much faster!
I am truly amazed!

And you are using an outdated version of Android (1.6).
2.0/2.1 Eclair and 2.2 Froyo are a lot better.
Here is a little snippet from the article that you can find HERE
“Eldar Murtazin, the eternal Nokia antagonist, claims to have the inside scoop on Nokia’s current Windows Phone device plans while getting an early hands-on with a prototype. Besides demonstrating a natural extension of the Nokia naming strategy to accommodate the new Windows Phone devices, Eldar tells us that model W7 is built around an X7 hardware base while the new W8 handset is a variant of Nokia’s N8 cameraphone (conceptualized in the above pic). According to Eldar, all of Nokia’s WP prototypes are built upon Qualcomm chipsets per Microsoft’s requirement (and Nokia’s dismay). The W7 model is currently being used in-house for development purposes and will likely be the first to market, according to Eldar, with an 8 megapixel autofocus camera and flash.”
In the article you can see information about Dual core also, i mean if they dont put out dual core, they are gonna loose it.

windows 7 on nokia phones is a good thought! But I think they should also have android phones...
I bet enthusiasts will install Android on the WP7 phones once they are out
The touchscreen and 2.X-hype has killed a lot of other features in cellphones. What happened to the real xenon based flash? Today, only Nokia use them in their cellphones and i H-A-T-E slowbian.

Well kinda agree with you
just say, i love android more.
Nice phones though Look nicer than their Symbian devices
Nokia could well be the solution to embracing the average consumer to WP7!
Still have my 3310 to this very day and it works 100% as well (despite pretty hard abuse - dropped down a full flight of stairs, case broke but easily replaced back in the day with a massive variety of available aftermarket ones)

Hey XDA! I think you guys will be able to appreciate the Apple humor here more than anyone else It was inspired by Dilbert: http://dilbert.com/strips/comic/2010-09-23/
Reality Distortion Field (RDF) is a technology that enables one to manipulate reality itself. It has been used for decades by highly influential people to excite, convince, and rally; to bring peace and to incite wars; and mostly to sell mediocre gadgets at premium prices.
For the first time, the secret to the RDF is revealed. The Reality Distortion Field app by Elemris is the first and only to bring this incredible power to your Android phone. Using space-age science, this app allows you to project a small Reality Distortion Field around you to help in your daily life.
Influence your peers… charm anyone... have people marvel at your smartphone even if it has a tiny 3.5 inch screen … now you can have it all.
The RDF is maintained by the battery's electric energy. However the battery drain is minimal because the battery is being fed back by Reality Distortion energy from inside the field. In effect battery life may last longer than usual.
New: SHAKE your device, and the app will convert your body's kinetic energy into RDF energy, for a temporary energy boost.
Results may vary; use for entertainment.
Works best if used at least 3 times a day.
Support
If you run into any problems using Reality Distortion Field, please tell us and we'll do our best to help. As you probably know, it's not possible to provide support through the Android Market - so contact me directly either at elemris.com/contact-us or here on XDA. Thanks for your feedback and support! and if you like our app, please rate and comment and let the world know
Download for free from the Android Market:

Yes indeed. Though I hear the RDF implementation in iOS 5 is not functioning correctly.
Just an FYI, Wacom posted new drivers today, and it appears to greatly improve the pen operations on the Surface Pro. Namely, pressure sensitive apps now actually recognize pressure (for example, Photoshop now works properly with the pen and pressure).

Why? The Surface Pro is awesome! Besides, if you keep waiting for the "next best thing", you'll never get one. To paraphrase Ferris Bueller, tech moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and enjoy the goodies once in a while, you could miss all of it.

I don't usually wait for new products, like Lumia 800/900/920 that I got for the past 1 year.
Its because Intel have already announced their Haswell processor with 3x graphics and even better power consumption, besides its only a month away :fingers-crossed:
Microsoft have said no new surface announcement will be made at build so a haswell version is unlikely.
I'm personally more interested in a bay trail version, especially if it includes an active stylus (no preference for wacom or ntrig from me). Even more unlikely to be announced than a haswell version.
