Please Help! Cannot copy Chinese MP3 files to O2 XDA IIi

Please please help!
Just got my O2 XDA IIi for a week. Can't seem to able to copy Chinese mp3 files onto device. I am using a Kingston 1G MMC+ card. I have also downloaded the trial version of CE-Star. Many thanks.
Hi
What exactly is the problem ? What error message do you get ?
By "chinese mp3s" I undersand MP3 files that contain chinese characters in their names ?
Tell me more, maybe I can help you.
Yes, it is mp3 files with Chinese character names. I was trying to copy from desktop to the storage card in the O2 XDA IIi via Microsoft sync. A message would appear - something about converting file - but after the message the file does not appear to be copied onto the device.
Many thanks for offering to help.
Ok
The message about converting is normal. It's diplayed every time you copy any file between PC and PDA.
Apparently, Activesync's file transfer is very buggy, and I had trouble with it too, several times.
Do you have a chinese version of activesync software ?
If not, try to download and install chinese activesync 3.8 from microsoft.
If everything fails. Copy your MP3s to SD card using SD-card reader or camera.
It's not a true solution, but you also can remove chinese characters from filenames.
Good luck.
Yes I suspect it might be MS Active sync too. Will try your suggestions. Many thanks again.
as per robal's response, it's actually faster if you copy and paste the mp3 files via the sd-card reader as compared to copying the files through activesync. whenever i need to put files in my sd, i take it out and use the card reader; this way the laptop treats it just like any other usb memory device...rather than going through activesync.
although i haven't really tried putting "chinese" mp3s; i don't think the chinese characters are a problem. it's the extension or file type which the computer normally looks for.
cheers
Indeed, writing onto the MMC+ card using a multi-card reader did solved all the problem. Many thanks for all your help! This is a great forum.

program to add e-books in sence reader

may be somebody knows an app. to add easily e-books in sence reader. ideas welcome
Out of curiosity, what formats does this reader support? Not that it matters too much, I really can't see it being a patch on Allreader+ which is the best mobile ebook reader I have used bar perhaps Stanza.

ePub, the HTC reader supports the ePub format (don't know if it supports other formats as well). As of now only Freda supports this format. In addition, the HTC eReader support DRM protected ePub books (I have to test this out yet, but the device can be activated using the adobe server)
ebup and plain text both work, haven't tried anything else yet. Just have to access them via file manager, so I asecond the original question.

I second that also, but I think we just have to wait till someone is going to write a program for this. At this moment, there's a little work-around described here. This works very well, but is a bit cumbersome.
BTW, there is some interfacing possible with Adobe Digital Editions. When there is a active sync connection, one can activate the HD2 with this PC program and there is a possibility to copy books to the HD2. However the books copied to the device don't show up in the ereader tab.
On the 2.05 test rom there was a directory "Program Files/HTC Reader" in which there was a subdirectory "manifest". This name is also used by Adobe Digital Edition for its library.
(Not that this is of any use right now, but maybe someone can figure out how the HTC reader interfaces with Adobe Dig. Ed or for that matter, any other pc reader/manager)
btw http://www.epubbooks.com/books has many many free epub books.

it wont do this automagically. There's a database which holds all the books, unfortunately there's no tool available on WM to add new books.
I'll publish one soon.
EDIT: wont publish mine, as one has already been published.
ebook indexer
Try with this

So it doesn't read PDFs? Might have been worth using if it did so I'll stick to Allreader, any EPUB books I have can be easily converted to HTML.
calibre does a great job of converting to Epub
OT: Is there a way how make eReader read different character page correctly? I cannot read all Czech characters correctly, only some of them.

If you're looking for an application to import other e-books in the new Sense e-reader tab, please look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=632517

[Q] How add epub books to HTC's Reader and my shelf

Hi....
I am not sure this is the right forum for this but I would like to know if anyone solved or can tell me how to put my epub books so they show in HTC's Reader.
I live in China and have a little bit of problem to get paperback books I want to read. I got lots of epub books but the reader only shows some of them and not even the same ones that been showing before.
Is there any directory in the phone I should put them? Tried to put some in the directory system/etc because I found the original books there but still not luck.
Would really like to know how to do it. I know epub works so can't be that most be some other thing that I need to do.
Anyway all suggestions and help would be appreciated.

Put your epub files on your SD card in a directory called "Digital Editions". They will then show up in the HTC Reader application

Mine are in a folder called "eBooks" and the reader app imported them no problem.
Unsure as to if it does a scan of the SD card or if the files need to be in a specifically named folder (either "digital editions" or "eBooks" or perhaps others also)
I have this problem. Let Someone please help
Windows Mobile also makes it possible.

[Q] Polaris is corrupting my .ppt and .doc files

Hi all
I searched for a solution but can't find anything decent.
The problem is that on my pc everything is ok but when i transfer the documents and presentations to my transformer and open them with Polaris they get corrupted and i can't open them back on my pc.
For the .doc there is a workaround with Google docs but this isn't working for me with .ppt. It keeps saying it can't upload them.
Hope you all can help me...

What version of Office are you using on your PC? I've found that in order to not run into problems with Polaris, I have to save all my documents as older 97-2003 versions. Polaris opens the new versions for Office 2007/2010, but when I try to save them is when it will either give me an error / corrupt the file / save it automatically as the older version on my tablet (I generally open and save all mine via DropBox, so when it saves to the tablet it's kind of annoying).
I use office 2010,but save my files as older versions 97-2003 because of compatibility isues with my friends when working together.
It's been an issue for a while now, unfortunately. Here is a previous thread on it. They probably have an error in the xml formatting in their save routine.
Yes I know this is where i got the .doc workaround but it does not work with .ppt.
Polaris has screwed me over so many times...
I know this isn't exactly the answer that you are looking for, but try out kingsoft office.. I'm pretty sure its free now and imho its far superior.

[Q] Adobe Reader temp file

Hi,
I am just registered but a big fan of this website for a long time. Recently I have been facing a great problem and not getting any solution.
When I read any book or magazine using Adobe Reader (as it is one of the best Pdf readers in my opinion) it creates a lot of temp files in my internal storage of SD card depending on which cache location I set. I have tried cleaning recent files and closing the apps properly but in vein. Opening a pdf file means creating a lot of temp files. Four of five pdf files created a huge number of temp files which do not get deleted automatically. I need to clean them manually. Foxit reader of Kingsoft office doesn't create any temp file at all but I prefer Adobe Reader the most. I want to get rid of these temp files.
I am using Motorola Moto G (2nd Gen). Model No: XT1068.
I would be really grateful if any of you can find my any solution of this.
