Apple Mini USB Keyboard - G Tablet General

Hi all,
I have an Apple Mini USB keyboard which is the perfect size, but it doesn't work. I tried a larger Dell keyboard and that works fine. Is there any way I can get the Apple one working?
Thanks

(shakes head) maybe you're holding it wrong.. hahaha.. sorry couldnt help myself

Bump
I'm in exactly the same situation. I have the nice little aluminum Apple USB keyboard. It would be nice if it worked.
It's worked with other tablets in the past.
I'm not sure I like the idea of having to run out and buy a new mini keyboard just because the one I have is not supported.
A Dell USB keyboard works when connected thru the Apple keyboard, so the USB hub in the Apple keyboard is working, and it is not a USB host or power thing.
I'm using CM7

Do a search in the Accessories section
There are several threads with this as a topic since that is a pretty sweet looking keyboard. I believe a member named prescott1 has gotten it to work first but others have also gotten it to work with a few different roms on the gTab. Here is one thread but there are many others.

Mini keyboard

I like Diamond very much, but when I have to write an email which is more than couple of words, then it is rather problem with the size of the screen. I though it will be great if we could use a mini keyboard for writting text.
I tried to find any, but some I found are rather big keyboards.
Has sone one found a mini keyboard which we can use with our device?? It can be with bluetooth, but if it was with the USB it will be even better!!!!!
i have a targus thumb keyboard and it works flawlessly with my diamond..its about the same size as the diamond and works through bluetooth..

A mini keyboard also known as an ergonomic keyboard, has many benefits. There are many definitions of ergonomics, keep in mind that they vary based on the working conditions. The most basic definition is the science of people-machine relationships. Make sure that you become aware with each and every aspect of ergonomics so that you can avoid problems that come from working with the wrong posture.

[PROJ] Removable QWERTY keyboard

How many times have you seen a cool phone and thought "damn I wish that phone had a QWERTY keyboard!". Well now there is a solution to it.
I found this (link at the bottom of the message) QWERTY keyboard while looking for some chinese cloned phones. It looks pretty owesome!! Now how the hell do we get this to work. BTW I can buy this phone and get the QWERTY keyboard. Then I want to use the QWERTY keyboard for some decent phones. But how can we do that?? I dont think it will be like windows XP that I can plug it in and it will find the driver and all done!
So any ideas on how do I proceed with this?
Thanks

You are very unlikely to get this working with any other phone. If you want a keyboard then you are probably better off looking at bluetooth options such as the logitech dinovo mini, or some of the folding ones.

[Q] Flexible Bluetooth Keyboard

What do you guys think about the compatibility of a flexible bluetooth keyboard that is being sold on ebay? I'm looking for something compact that I can fit in my pocket and take to class to take notes. It says that it is compatible with Android. Anyone have any experience with it?
lol y do u need one of these things, the android keyboard is pretty good
yeah the android keyboard is pretty good. But I definitely can type faster on a full sized keyboard. And I'm sure others can also.
So the question remains. Is the G2x capable to link to a bluetooth keyboard and possibly a mouse also? Anyone tried it, yet?
This one works good with the ps3 and lots of android phones

That thing is tiny. Looks like you can only type with your thumbs or peck at it with one of your fingers.
I'm looking at something more like this:

or this:

But they don't look like they can connect to an android though.
I used an old apple bluetooth keyboard lying around. It paired and connected as a HID (Human Interface Device). Needed no configuration, it took over the keyboard automatically. You can navigate menus with it aswell. I've never tried a mouse though.
Ive even used a full sized Logitec desktop Bluetooth keyboard (mx-5000) and it paired up just fine.

Really??? Why doesn't anyone talk about this? My case converts to a landscape kickstand so I could prop it up while typing. I wonder if I could use it in a coffee house like a laptop after all? Hmmmmmm!
The only rom I ever got to work with a bluetooth keyboard for the G2x was with CM7. Be aware that it might have to come down to flashing your phone to this Rom if you decide you do want to use a BT keyboard.
My only concern would be how difficult it would be to see the screen if you're four feet away in a comfortable typing position.
And if you're getting a full sized keyboard, lugging it around would be a pain. Easier to just use a laptop if you have one.

Physical Qwerty keyboard for One X: what options do we have?

Hi guys. I came to the One X after owning a huge load of smartphones equipped with physical qwerty keyboards. I do type decently on the One X, but I miss the precision of physical qwerty.
What options do we have, among either Bluetooth and NFC keyboards? I know there are some horrible chinese keyboards, but I consider those quite useless.
There is for example a Logitech Dnovo Mini, how could we hook it up (physically) to our One X? How long would it take to the phone to recognize it? Would there be any lags in typing?
Has anyone found another way?
Post your thoughts here!!!
Best
Tony
Can't speak of the Dinovo Mini specifically, but I have this full -sized Logitech Bluetooth keyboard, that I bought for my HTC Flyer tablet. Don't really use it that much. But it gets recognized by the tablet very quickly (as fast as any other BT device, like headset). Typing is very responsive, and has no significant lag. If the Dinovo Mini works anything the same (and you like the form factor), I think you would be pleased with it.
It's not likely we will see a slide-out keyboard for the One XL.
The camera bulge and shape of the phone makes producing the cases troublesome. The placement of the camera is also an issue, a slide out keyboard would cover the camera and flash.
The only phones that have historically gotten keyboard cases are flat-backed phones with the camera in the corner. The iPhone 5 will be geting a keyboard, the LG nexus might as well.
Our only hope is that the one X+ is the same shape as the one XL, so if anyone makes a keyboard for that phone we could use it as well.
If you just want a keyboard, any bluetooth keyboard will work. A quick search for "bluetooth mini keyboard" will show you plenty of results.
What existing bluetooth keyboard are there as best options? As far as size goes, I'd want a 7.7" keyboard max (better if 5"). I'd really want to skip links to the chinese samples for sale on eBay, those aren't going to fit my requirements for a reason or another.
I have seen the Logitech Dinovo Mini Keyboard. I'd have to invent a way to attach the two as if they were a single device, most of the time. Did anyone do that?
Thanks!!
Tony

hardware keyboard

My fiance is a writer and I have been looking for a bluetooth keyboard so that she can write on her phone and tablet. Right now she has the One S and an older model nook that I am going to be upgrading soon. Any suggestions?
Any Android spec bluetooth keyboard should be fine. Recently there have been a lot of deals around on Motorola keyboard/dock sets, the keyboard is nice.
You can find some Bluetooth keyboards on ebay. Search what you like. I wanted to get one for my nexus 7, but at the moment I don't find I will use it to much so I think I will use the money for something else.
Good Luck!:good:
