Although I loathe Macs in all other respects, I have become increasingly jealous of the MacBook Pro trackpads. Since the Nexus One's screen is about the same size, it would be a perfect replacement for mine. I have looked at RemoteDroid and GMote but neither of them support multitouch [two finger scroll and middle click specifically] and both run over WiFi whereas I would prefer Bluetooth. Anyone know of a decent alternative?
Thanks
I just got PhoneMyPC and it works great. It does multi touch, and even has a live interactive view of your PC. It at a special $9.99 beta rate now.
Found nice presention on Youtube:

Looks that they already integrated Flash
It looks better than the G-tablet, the aluminum border, hdmi port, and the black border around the screen looks more proportional. The bottom border of G-tablet screen is thinker than the top. If our G-tablets look like this one, I will definitely bring one to an apple store and show-off..
The quadrant score is a little low.. around 1400.. Anyways, it is very interesting that it includes androidPit (alternate Android market). If viewsonic cannot official include Android market, they should consider to include either AndroidPit or AppLib.
Anyways, our Tnt lite or Vegan ROMs are Flash integrated also..
I just got my G tab!
I really had to try Viewsonic's ROM to see if it was as bad as everyone said. Unfortunately, it is!
I've tested it for 10 min but got bored.
For all G tab users afraid to root this device, let me tell you that I l'm no hacker but installed Vegan 5.1, market fix and adobe flash in 20 minutes, with zero problems.
If I had to compare it to the iPad I would say that the GTab looses in screen quality, style and accessories.
But in my opinion, at $380 the G is the better product.

Screen viewing angles leave some to be desired, but just til it a degree or two more and you're good to go.
Accessories I definitely agree with - we need clam shell cases, we need music docks with HDMI out and built in speakers, we need car adapters.. etc.
The accessories I have/will have are:
- Griffin Technology Stylus
- Samsonite case
- Zpad dock (apx and it2steve sell these)
- Zpad case (apx sells these)
- Spare home charger (it2steve sells these, I hear they're the same as the ts LG portable DVD players: DP371,DP450,DP371B)
You're right about installing a custom ROM, it's a no-brainer. When I first got the device yesterday, I thought it was great as it was, until after a few minutes I wanted more out of the home screens. Then I found the Toshiba Launcher (ToshibaHomeMenu.apk) which is so simple and awesome.. it really changed everything. It forces you to have 5 screens, but you can tap any "dot" and it will take you to that screen. Using Multi Picture Live Wallpaper, each screen gets its own wallpaper as well. Pairing those two together, alongside Smart Taskbar.. and it's a blazing fast tablet with tons of functionality.
Had mine a few days. My phone is a DX and I never understood why people were so up in arms about a locked bootloader. I mean you can bootstrap and be good to go...
Spending the last few days working with the Gtab, props to Viewsonic/TnT for letting us do what we want with our devices and really embracing Open Source. It just makes everything easier and ultimately better.
I have to say that i was a bit skeptical about the Gtab, the second i put VEGAn on it I was hooked.
The viewing angle issue is the only drawback but it's by far a show stopper.
this kicks an iPad's butt any day.

My other concern is that the capacitive buttons don’t light up. Sometimes it is difficult to play with it in the dark.
Despite that, I’m playing 1080p (Rockplayer) with absolutely no lag, all my favorite apps are installed and working.
I’ll probably try the latest TNT just for kicks! And this is what I love about this device: customization, freedom to change ROM’s at will, adobe flash, stunning live wallpapers and widgets

And these apps made it more useful to me.
Zinio (with Readers Hub) for reading electronic magazines and newspapers
Comixology for reading electronic comics
LogMeIn Ignition for remotely accessing my Windows computers at work and at home
QuickOffice for being able to read/modify MS Office documents
Dropbox for easy file transfers and sharing
There are a ton of other apps/games that also added value to this tablet for me but the above 5 are the ones I use most often.
I hope you get as much out of your gTab as I have gotten from mine.

There are some modders here that have added little LEDs next to the buttons to make them light up and others that have added a little bead next to them so you can feel them in the dark but with VEGAn you have those buttons on the status bar as soft buttons so you might be able to get by using those.
What do you guys think about the compatibility of a flexible bluetooth keyboard that is being sold on ebay? I'm looking for something compact that I can fit in my pocket and take to class to take notes. It says that it is compatible with Android. Anyone have any experience with it?
lol y do u need one of these things, the android keyboard is pretty good
yeah the android keyboard is pretty good. But I definitely can type faster on a full sized keyboard. And I'm sure others can also.
So the question remains. Is the G2x capable to link to a bluetooth keyboard and possibly a mouse also? Anyone tried it, yet?
This one works good with the ps3 and lots of android phones

That thing is tiny. Looks like you can only type with your thumbs or peck at it with one of your fingers.
I'm looking at something more like this:

or this:

But they don't look like they can connect to an android though.
I used an old apple bluetooth keyboard lying around. It paired and connected as a HID (Human Interface Device). Needed no configuration, it took over the keyboard automatically. You can navigate menus with it aswell. I've never tried a mouse though.
Ive even used a full sized Logitec desktop Bluetooth keyboard (mx-5000) and it paired up just fine.

Really??? Why doesn't anyone talk about this? My case converts to a landscape kickstand so I could prop it up while typing. I wonder if I could use it in a coffee house like a laptop after all? Hmmmmmm!
The only rom I ever got to work with a bluetooth keyboard for the G2x was with CM7. Be aware that it might have to come down to flashing your phone to this Rom if you decide you do want to use a BT keyboard.
My only concern would be how difficult it would be to see the screen if you're four feet away in a comfortable typing position.
And if you're getting a full sized keyboard, lugging it around would be a pain. Easier to just use a laptop if you have one.

Brookstone!
the BrookStone one works flawlessly
Worked with
-Nexus One
-HTC G2
-LG G2x
-Samsung Nexus S
-Acer Iconia Tab A500
cost like $49.99

Anyone know if Hbogo or mango work on this. I know there is some issue where HBO is not working on the larger tablets thanks to exclusivity to Apple. I did not know if the smaller size made a difference?
Thanks
Ok in case anyone needs or wants know that the plus does not work with Hbogo or max go. I played with this ultralight and ultra thin beauty tonight at best buy. It's a really slick tablet. Much less stutter than the 8.9 and 10.1 tabs. The speaker quality is better than the Asus TF that I owned.

The HBOGo apk doesn't install? I know I've installed the apk before (other devices) but can't use it as my local HBO cable provider does not support it.
