[Q] insufficient battery for froyo? when it is fully charged. - General Questions and Answers

Hey guys,
Samsung galaxy s, on the optus network in australia
looked around and couldnt find anything other than a passing mention of this problem.
Baically, i went to upgrade my firmware to 2.2 through kies, when i plug it in, it says that it is downloading the binary files, pauses then a dialogue box comes up saying that there is insufficient battery to run the upgrade. tried it with 2 seperate batteries that were charged only moments before with no change in the result.
so... having not found a solution i figured i would return my phone to factory. just incase there was an issue with some sort of conflict or something. attempted again with the same result.
can someone please help?

Anyone? any ideas at all?

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000 charging problem (unable to root or upgrate)

Hey everyone, after going through a number of posts here on XDA
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1216962
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1005102
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1251709
and another useful site like
http://www.fixya.com/support/t119297...p1000_charging
I haven't found what I am looking for yet. I kinda have the same problem like these guys on the posts above. I got my phone water damaged a while back and since then my phone whenever on charge gives me a message like "charging paused. Battery temperature too high or too low". I have been trying to fix this problem for a while but I can't seem to find any reasonable solution. Like I understand that this could be a hardware problem and I can't do much about it if it is but I still have to try different options before I pay Samsung to fix it.
Like what I am trying to achieve is that I would like to somehow root the tab and upgrade it using just the recovery system mode. I somehow believe that if I do that this problem will miraculously vanish . The galaxy tab that I own is this one here http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...ls_o06_s00_i00. I never rooted the tab before this problem and I am sure I never upgraded it either. So all I am left with now is a tab that turns on only for few seconds and then switches off. Even when it is on the charge the tab switches off after giving me the message "charging paused. blah blah blah". The only time it stays on forever is when the phone is on the charge (AC and not usb PC) and on Android System Recovery <3e>.
There is no possible way of starting the tab and using the android system as the message pops up just before the loading up and switches the phone off immediately. If someone can guide on how to root and upgrade my tab through using my sd card or doing it in recovery mode, then I promise to buy a couple of pints (money will be sent via paypal) or else the money goes to Samsung and ruins the whole joy of fixing my tab with yourr help. Cheers
Can someone please help me wth this?

[Q] AT&T SG3 re-boots every 2-3 minutes after OTA upgrade to 4.2.2

Hello,
My phone was running a stock ROM, it was not rooted.
On Tuesday morning i received notification on my phone that I had an update for 4.2.2. I applied the update and it appeared that everything went fine. Unfortunately, the phone immediately began re-booting every two to three minutes.
I have re-set the phone to factory defaults - no change.
I have used different batteries - no change.
I have put the phone into safe mode - no change.
If I put the phone in download mode - it does not re-boot.
I have tried to revert back to an older ROM but ODIN errors out.
Does AT&T have the ability to re-push the update OTA or even roll back to an older version?
Of course my contract is 5 months away from being fulfilled so I believe that I would be forced to pay full price for a new phone should I not be able to resolve this.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

your phone likely is not broken physically, it just needs to be re-flashed. the problem with that is, the flash files dont always get released or leaked right when the ota comes out.
unless someone has a better idea, your best option is probably to keep an eye on your phone specific forum for someone to post the flash file for this new update.
it really doesnt matter if they could push the update again, it would fail on verifying the current install.
if the device was unlocked, it could be rolled back to an older version. i wouldnt hold my breath waiting for them to do that for you.
you could check the forums and see if there is a way to unlock it yourself. some can be unlocked, a lot cant.

Update...I went to a SAMSUNG experience (or whatever they are called) in a Best Buy and I re-flashed the phone with 4.4.2...no improvement.
I have tried to root the phone with Towel Root and CyanogenMod but neither worked.
In additional attempts to figure this out, My son noticed that if the phone was connected to a computer, it did not re-boot. He though that it was related to it being connected to a power source so he plugged it into a charger, the phone would still re-boot.
So what we have determined is the phone needs to think that it is connected media device. The phone then works as it should.
Any ideas on how to resolve this? If the phone's battery dies and we are not near a useable computer, the phone is then again a paper weight.

you have got me on this one. it acts like a classic software issue. now that that has been eliminated.
you performed a factory reset after the flash im assuming?
i don't know what else to tell you, if the software is clean, it has to be hardware damage.
sorry

Having some issues with Samsung Galaxy S6...

Hey there,
I'm wondering if there may be a problem with my Samsung Galaxy S6 and I wanted to get some opinions before I try one last thing and fully reset it.
I've had the phone since April last year and for some reason the battery life has never really been good anyway. This isn't the main reason I am posting though as only recently I noticed a different issue when I tried to transfer some files onto the phone.
I was trying to use the cable that comes with the phone to charge it, and I've done so before when I've transferred files before from my Macbook. However, that time before I also found it very difficult to detect the phone and kept having to unplug it and plug it back in before it would see it. I was using the software Android File Transfer. Last night I could literally not get it to see my phone whatsoever... I plugged it into the computer and it would charge but it literally could not detect a connected device.
So here's where it gets frustrating as I spent the next two hours trying to fix this issue. I tried searching for a solution online which is why I'm now here after everything as all that I tried didn't work. I tried switching to SmartSwitch (and uninstalled AFT first), but that program also didn't detect my phone. Then I tried Airdroid, which worked only when I used the file upload under the browser but refused to connect to the phone when I clicked it on My Devices.
I even tried the method of *#0808# but it was actually already set to the correct settings so now I'm completely at a loss as to what it could be.
I've previously also had issues where I've plugged in the phone and it hasn't started fast charging and I haven't realised for an hour that it's only been cable charging and had to plug it back in for it to recognise it... is this likely a problem with the phone or cable?
I mean, aside from the also frustrating battery issues which have been worsening as time goes by (currently phone is on 79% having only used 39m screen time), I'm not sure whether it's time to give the phone a reset before actually taking it in to the store or whether it's likely an issue with the connector port at the bottom too which means it's probably not worth the hassle of resetting?
I won't go too much into the battery issues here, but I've been trying to use Greenify, App Optimisation, literally EVERYTHING I can think of, and I still don't get any more than 4 hrs and a half screen time.
My phone is not rooted. (though I'm wondering whether rooting it may help me). Thanks and I hope you have some advice that may resolve my issues!
I have the same issue.. muy phone won't charge unless otra on the wireless charging port
I have the SAME issue. I really don't know how to fix it!
Hmmmm sounds like your charging port is starting to go either that or maybe you could try flashing some new software through Odin and hope that's it's a software issue and as for the battery of course rooting does help bc it lets you get rid of the bloatware on the phone either that or try package disabler pro.

Need Help with Constant Restarts

I have seen this problem online with the Edge, but no solutions other than changing the device out. Hoping someone can tell me whats going on here.
I bought this phone from Sprint on 10/7/16 and didn't have any issues until 11/7/16 (1 day out of the time for me to add insurance to get it replaced).
On to the issue. It restarts every 2 min, if I allow the screen to turn off. If plugged in and charging, it just shuts down and freezes. Have to do a soft reset to get it up and running. I have no to date done 4 factory resets, and didn't install any new apps and pulled out my Micro SD card as well. All the pre-installed apps are up to date, as well as my firmware, profile, hell even my prl is up to date. Still happening.
I have been able to stop it by turning in the "Always on Display" that shows the date, time and battery percentage. It seems to have stopped the problem, but lets face it, that's not a fix. Its a bandaid over a leaky pipe.
Anyone have any suggestions? I have called Samsung and they said I can send it in, but I don't have a backup device at the moment. I sold my Note 3 when I bought this phone. I know I can get a loaner phone from Sprint, but I don't want to pay for it.
Thanks in advance.
PS - Non rooted phone.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Software Issue

Hi,
So a few months ago I regrettably decided to try and root my Samsung Galaxy s7. It did not go well, and from the feedback from the firm I sent it for software repairs, apparently a second partition was created which caused start-up issues. They said they fixed it and for a few months the phone worked well. Until now.
The phone refuses to startup. It is currently plugged into the mains and showing a steady 51% (which I know from previous experience will be the maximum it reaches) If I press the power button it goes through the loading screen (the animated Samsung logo) then shuts off, then tries again and again never making it past this point.
The things I've tried:
Tried every kind of reset
Run the restart process with every combination of sim card, sd card and lackthereof
I remember that the guy that fixed my phone offhandedly commented that he could see the issue on his PC, presumably via a software of some-sorts. Anybody know what this could be?
So, nothing seems to work and in a last bid of desperation I googled the issue and came across this website.
Perhaps a kind Samaritan here might know how to fix my issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Look for instructions on how to flash with Odin.
