[Q] Samsung Captive S Completely Bricked - Aid Requested - Captivate General

First of all, this is not my Galaxy S phone but a phone of a friend. According to him, while using Ode3 One-Click Downloader the application crashed. As a result, the phone will not turn on and there is not button combination to get into anything beyond the black screen. There is no indication of it charging, and I have tried every single battery pull / sim card pull I could find.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Make one of these and use it.

I 2nd using a JIG to get the phone into Download Mode & retrying with ODIN.

Did you try holding both volume keys at the same time and then connecting it to the computer while holding down the keys? that seems to work for me everytime.

JIG JIG JIG. in my SIG SIG SIG

Thanks for the info. I got my Captivate to be able to download. How long should I wait for everything to happen? Seems like a long time.

[Q] How to exit download mode on Samsung Galaxy i5500?

Hi all!
I managed to get into download mode on my Samsung Galaxy i5500 twice now.
Both times, I ended up just leaving it until the battery ran out so I could re-boot.
What's the trick to get out of download mode? Surely there is some combination of keys, but I've tried a lot...
I see in various places something about typing a code. Where would I type the code? I only have this download screen!
There would be the measure of removing the battery, but if the phone isn't off, you can't remove the battery. It seems there is a latch that prevents opening the case so long as the phone is on. (Or am I wrong about that?)
I went so far as to get Odin, reboot my laptop into Windows. Odin sees my phone allright... but... no... it's all about copying data to the phone. But I don't want to do that (yet.) I see no way to simply reboot the phone.
If I scratch my head long enough, the batteries will run out again...
OK, I don't know why I thought I couldn't take the cover off when the phone was on. (Maybe because I tried to read the manual in something other than my native language).
It seems then that one can take the battery out when in debug mode.
Still, it seems that a mode one enters by key combinations, should also be exitable by key combinations...

[Q] Samsung Captivate Stays on Battery Stand By after using Odin3

I have a Samsung Captivate and I've been having some issues that have gave me some trouble, Yeah I know it says to look up previous cases of the device but I have yet to find Anyone with the same problem and I've been at this for a week now trying to fix this phone.
When I press the power button the AT&T Logo comes on but only stays there for about 8 seconds then turns off it'll stay on if I hold the power button.
First I tried the Odin3 program, I followed all instructions for it. My phone can go into DL mode and my computer can recognize it as a device, I booted up the program and so far I've had no problems during the process the Odin detected my phone and finished the process but when it finishes my phone will boot to the AT&T logo for a couple of seconds then it'll go to the battery stand by screen and ... that's it.
I tried looking on google for anyone who is experiencing the same problem and so far close but not the same and I ran out of ideas...
Can someone please help me out because I really want this phone to work and Yes I am a noob -.-

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S3 soft-brick(?) help?

I've been looking through various threads for the past hour or so, and I feel as if my situation was unique enough to warrant a post/plea for help.
I was in the middle of attempting to flash the VRALEC Bootchain via ODIN mode on my device, and in the middle, someone managed to knock the device off of the wire. Since then, I haven't been able to boot the device on. The reason I'm not in full panic mode is because the computer I'm using still senses that it's there, without pulling up the SD Card or the Phone under My Computer. I've already been through many threads where people can force it into Download mode (home button + volume up + powerr), but I cannot even get the device to pull the screen up. I hope this means that my device is soft-bricked, instead of hard-bricked.
Any advice or methods of repairing my phone would be greatly appreciated.

[Q] i9003 hard bricked after software update

Hey everyone, so the situation is like this:
I got this phone today, from a friends girlfriend - she told me that she did a software update to her i9003 and after that it doesent work anymore.
I am not a newbie in playng with roms, had a DHD and now have HD2 so i know how things work.
So, i tried getting this phone into download mode - it didnt work. I left it to charge for ~2 hours and now, when i connect it via USB to the PC, and reinsert the battery - Windows tells me OMAP3630 driver is not found, and then says device not connected. After some experiments - when i replug the battery it shows the OMAP3630 for ~2 seconds and then disapears, i have Samsung drivers installed, but odin does not detect the phone.
Is there something else i can do?
does your phone shows any sign of life after hours of charging... even a flash on the display??? if yes then there is hope if no then it might have been hard bricked.... try opening your back cover there is a tiny pin hole between Camera Lens and the speaker ... use a pin and press the button in that hole.. it is said to be the hard reset button....(now you will need 2 persons for this) now pressing that button try going in download mode simultaneously (volume down+home+power). if you get in download mode flash a stock firmware via odin.. if nothig works then try a jig or J-TAG.
hope this helps
Phone shows absolutely no sign of life. Nothing flashes vibrates or nothing. The reset button doesent give anything too.
Only reaction is when repluging the battery - OMAP3630 driver on PC - and nothing else.
Well im not gotta JTAG it, and jig wont really help if theres no sign of life so.. I declare it dead

Click to collapse
well jig can work... if your phone is in recoverable state it will help... just charge your battery and insert jig and will get your phone automatically in download mode... there is a thread in this forum where you can borrow a jig or buy new one at e-bay(it wont cost you much). Its your call though :silly:
this thread may help you (thanks to saywhatt).
I hope your phone will be recovered:angel:

[Completed] [Q] Sprint Galaxy S5 Sport Brick? Bootloop.

I wanted to solve this problem on my own but after almost 6 hours I just can't figure it out. Its either totally bricked or I'm just missing something simple. I've seen many people complain about this problem but none of them seem to have had the same problem I do. Thing is I was just really starting to love the way I had the phone set up. DAMN!
I used this thread to root: (CF)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s5/help/q-root-galaxy-s5-sport-sm-860p-t2859473
SPRINT GALAXY S5 SPORT SM-G860P
Android 4.4
I had CW recovery installed
(wish I had more info about the software)
Here's whats happening:
START
(vibrate)
RECOVERY BOOTING...
RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
Set Warranty Bit : recovery
(Also on Screen are the logos)
Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport
Powered by Android
This stays on for about 10 seconds.
Then blank screen (2 seconds)
(vibrate)
Screen still blank (2 seconds)
REPEAT (Auto reboot and goes back to start)
Other notes:
Trying to boot into recovery (home+vol up+power) Nothing Happens
Try to power off and nothing happens.
Pulled battery, did the 30 sec and restarted no change.
I have all updated usb drivers.
Odin will not see the device because its not on long enough. (Kies didn't see it either.)
Plug into PC via usb - Nothing Happens, device doesn't even show up because its not on long enough (win 8.1 and 7)
Pull battery to get it to stop, once battery goes back in, it auto starts again.
I TRIED AS MANY SD CARD / BATTERY/USB CABLE/POWER CABLE/BATTERY PULL/BUTTON COMBINATIONS AS I COULD FIND ONLINE AND THEN SOME. No Luck with anything.
I know this isn't a "help desk" I just wanted to give as much info as possible hoping to help you help me!
Please point me in the right direction.
Thanks!
Try to hard-reset your phone. There is a button combination for that., search it over the internet.
Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately the hard reset combo does nothing. I've tried every button combination that I have been able to find with no luck. Factory reset, hard reset, etc. etc. no luck. I've also searched for a possible "hidden" button underneath the back cover or something of the like...nothing.
hmmmm
At least, it is not hard-bricked. So there is hope.
Have you checked if it is entering the download mode? If not, then try it. You can use this mode to flash file via the PC.
Check this link
It worked! Obviously I didn't search or try as many things as I thought I did. : / I can't thank you enough! wow. Amazing!
