Thanks to erron for pointing me to Staples!
SEARS still has limited stock, as of this writing. However, check your local Staples as it looks like they just got a shipment in:

My local store in PA has them in stock. I also heard a rumor that KMart and Radio Shack might be getting them next week, so you might want to keep an eye out.
have you heard if walmart would be getting these as well?

Have not heard anything in regards to WalMart. You'd think they'd be jumping on the bandwagon for the holidays, but nothing (yet). Maybe they'll surprise us, next week.
i need a place I have a credit card for to get it, we had a baby and cant budget out one lol. unless someone wants a mini 9 instead of their tab *hint* *hint* lol
Is anywhere shipping these internationally yet? It is incredibly hard to ship one outside the US. If they make it too hard I will get the advent vega
How could these retailers sell these without a solid, out of the box software package?
Sure, the retailers maybe / are clueless, but Viewsonic is not (in regards to the software issue).
Boxes still have Flash symbol on them
Storage mode does not see the microsd
No market
A lot of games and apps are broken
Storage mapping
Mystery reboots with stock FW
Boot loops
Not coming out of sleep
Seriously, I like my G (not with stock), but how does this device not fail on epic levels, since it fails "out of box"? Perhaps 95% of consumers will not be hanging around XDA- will not have a clue.
staples.com also carrying the gtablet

I don't know. I ended up returning mine because of the bad screen, but there are certainly a ton of other problems too out of the box. The return rate for these things must be off the charts.
New Info from Viewsonic s gtablet site
App Store
Please be advised that a software update is now available that provides access to an Apps Store directly from your G Tablet. Owners of the G Tablet will receive an automatic notice of the new software upgrade. Users can then simply click on the Apps Store icon from their G Tablet to gain access to 1,000's of leading Android apps. (Please note that the automatic notification requires that the G Tablet has WiFi Internet access upon power-on.)
Adobe Flash Support
The Viewsonic G Tablet hardware and firmware provides full support for the Adobe Flash Player built into the unit. At the time that the G Tablet was manufactured, the Adobe Player application was not available for this product. We anticipate that a version of the Adobe Flash Player Application will be available by December 19, 2010. Owners of the G Tablet will receive an automatic notice that the plug-in is available for download to further expand their web access and entertainment. (Please note that the automatic notification requires that the G Tablet has WiFi Internet access upon power-on.)
I just picked one up at Staples--I asked, and a manager said they had just come in on the truck last night and they were ready to be put out front yet. I mentioned how the Staples web site had said that they were in stock at this particular store, and the manager seemed to take pity, disappeared for a while, and came back with one. (Had to check me out herself, though.)
Office Depot has the Gtablet now as well. The have a working demo of the G and the Archos 7 (not 70). They are selling them now.
So far:
Kmart
Office Depot
Sears
Staples
BTW, the Viewsonic site was wrong and is one reason they pulled the information from their site. No Flash in the update.

they had it in stock at staples, but the manager wouldn't sell me one, claiming that it was a black friday item.
edit: purchased one online with free ship to store. $30 off $150 coupon i bought off ebay worked. it says it will arrive by wednesday, which is sooner than black friday! at $400 - $30 = $370, which appears to be the cheapest price i've seen for it. the only comparable one is $380 at sears on black friday with the free case.
Which store has the best return policy?
Well, I'll have to consider picking up a g tablet, as it seems the tablet is much more usable with the TNT lite 2.0 rom..
So, the next question is, where should I purchase it from? I want to give it a good try for a couple weeks before settling on keeping it. While I understand the unit should easily be able to be returned due to the fact that it's "defective" in some ways, I'd prefer just not having to deal with a pita manager worst case. So, do any stores that are selling it offer easy returns? Sears seems like a "no," but Staples seems to let you return the device used/opened, if you're not satisfied with the purchase. Anyone else know about kmart/etc?
Staples closest to me had 3 when I called them on Saturday to see if they had a REAL functional demo unit and not a mockup like Sears had. They did and also told me that they had 3 in stock. (Seems that the Staples stores all semed to have gotten a whopping 3 of them.)
Sears say 9-10d or 12-15d for stock. (I guess that the busier stores get first dibs on stock, surprisingly the one really close to me and the one just a bit further are both on the shorter time to restock. I felt that the close Sears was never very busy)
I never bothered going over to Staples until Monday morning, since I was sure that I would just pick one up even if I felt it to be grossly overpriced. I still feel that this is overpriced esp. when both Sears and Staples bracketed the gTab display with MUCH cheaper (Atom) netbooks ffs! (They had 2 left in stock on monday, and then 1 of course, after I purchased mine.)
All said and done thought, this is the tablet that I've liked the best from the get go and I'm still only using the stock fw, and 11/22 update now. Web browsing is just so much better with this tablet and the virt kb more responsive such that I can use forums via browser and actually enter messages non-painfully although a bit slowly. (Buhbye tapatalk...)
The PDF version of the manual is kind of funny loads of Engrish, which is kind of surprising considering that Pandigital's wasn't too bad actually while VS' is more like Augen's...
Anybody have any experience with searsoutlet.com? I found one thats over 200 miles away from NYC and for some reason they refuse to ship.

SEARS can be bad - 30 days but only for hardware defects, although I heard that they might extend that to 60 days during the holidays. For Staples, it's 14 days for tech items and seems pretty flexible.
KMart might be the best of the lot at 90 days, but again you should ask before purchasing as they might have exceptions.

I purchased my GTab from the Outlet - they don't ship because these are clearance / closeout items that are in that specific store. The GTabs are customer returns to they should be complete but expect some possible cosmetic defects as a used item.

Just check daily, in a few weeks I bet every store in the nation will have a pile of them, then we can snap 'em up.
Im looking to import one of these and was hoping to take advantage of the Black Friday sales. I saw the Sears catalog, but then someone else said they dont have any stock?
I can use a mail forwarder to buy it for me and then ship it to me in Australia. Looks like Staples and Sears both have them online. Can anyone please confirm:
- Do Sears and Staples currently have these in stock for quick shipping?
- Is it worth waiting for 'black friday' to buy one?

i'd like to go return my sears one and get a staples one for $70 less.
Ditto. I paid $399.98 plus tax @ Staples!
That was the second post in this forum that stated a cheaper than $399 gtab. The first was a $340 tab if you buy a two year warranty from sears for $50. No one responded to my question on that one, I am thinking because it wasn't true.
I think this one is either not a g-tab or just another unsubtantiated rumor.
Were is your power switch?

Sears is still showing the wrong picture. They are showing the Windows 7/Android 1.6 version. The ad has been screwed up from the start. At least the description is right now.
So, the Staples and Sears G tablets are the same. Sears just has the wrong picture.
yes.. they both have 4 buttons. Sears has the wrong picture up.
Ahh.... that's what that is, 15% off coupon and a staples 10 dollar card, since the tab wasn't on there site for notebooks or computers I talked the GM in to it, I believe it was 97015 coupon coded
Google it and bring your negotiations skills

You may need to post a link
He must have been referring to this coupon:
http://reg.e.staples.com/c/s/tagfrm/hBM5i--B7SHGCB8VwsiDaLRoA0c/coupon.html?n=834&email=
It says that it excludes ALL computers. But Staples has the g-tablet listed under the 'Electronic Book Readers" section. So that is what he meant by "bring your negotiations skills".
Coupon expired 11/21... BLAH!
I tried to get them to give me the discount, it was a no go. I tried telling them that coupon said desktops, laptops and netbooks but doesn't say tablets. They said it is like laptop and I said well if they take the time to say netbooks and netbooks are more like a laptop than a tablet they would have said tablet in the coupon. Oh well I tried....
Staples for $399.98
I got mine from Staples for $399.98
Thinking about asking for the gtab for christmas and i've seen many videos that were very well done by ehunyadi and i see the buttons on his device are in the upper right hand corner when holding it and there are 4 buttons however on sear's and kmarts website the G Tablet i find only has 3 buttons on it, these are the same device correct?
http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00382001000P?prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1
Notice the 3 buttons above and in ehunyadi's videos the buttons there are 4 of them.
Just confirming that the image on sears and kmarts web sites is just wrong.
Yes, pictures on sears and kmart are of the wrong tab. The specs are right, it's just the wrong picture.
So if i was to ask for the one on kmart or sears website it will be the right device right? the one listed above that is.

Yes, order from sears or kmart for $379 will be a g-tablet like we ar discussing here.
sweet thanks cant wait, if i dont get it as a gift ill def be buying it as my own gift.
Hi, i live in quebec city and i am on the waiting list for the transformer and the dock (ordered a lot of time after the 26th...) and i just ""got"" one from staples.ca (in a little time frame, said 5 available). So i were wondering if anyone actually dealt with ncix if i would want to cancel my tablet but actually keep the dock (im like 30th in the list?) is it possible?
And also... as for the staples 5 units in stock... should i expect a mail from staples that it just got cancelled? (maybe on monday?)
Won't cancel my order at ncix until i get a tracking no for the staples one though...
Thanks
I have a chance to purchase either a Galaxy Tab 10.1 or the TF.I can get either one for 399.00. I have tried both and taken both back a week or so ago. I did like them but could not decide which one was the keeper although I leaned toward the TF. Until today the deciding factor was the 100.00 price difference (499vs 399) well today they are on equal terms. Any suggestions or input from those that have had both devices for a couple of weeks or more would be greatly appreciated. Also any other suggestions etc also warmly received.
I own two TFs and a Gtablet. The main reason I bought them is the support on forums such as xda. Personally I don't touch Samsung stuffs due to support (they just suck at FW/SW also the way they copy Apple --> no ports). Since you mentioned the deal @Staples, I would get the Acer for $299 (fool-around until tegra3 comes).
I have had bad experiences with Samsung in the past, not so much their products, but their support is the worst in the industry.
I purchased my TF 3 days ago and have been unable to put it down since. I Love it. amazing piece of equipment you would be hard pressed to find a better device imho
$100 Off
This won't help you make your decision but Staples has a coupon floating around for $100 off ANY tablet
I just picked up a galaxy tab today from staples. So far i am really enjoying it. I also own a transformer, which i have been enjoying for a couple of months. If I only had on tablet and the choice was between the two, I would pick the transformer based soley on the fact that it has expandable memory and i could easily fill up 16 or 32 GB. With that being said if I didn't need the storage I would opt for the tab just because of its form and screen.
Now i am going to say something that I will probably get flamed for in this forum. I actually like the xoom better than the transformer and i plan to sell the TF on ebay then pick up a xoom from staples before the $100 off deal ends. I bought on over the weekend from staples because they had the $50 off deal last week and they had no tabs in stock, knowing that I was most likely going to return it. I really enjoyed it and miss it already.
The only downside compared that the TF was its weight, which didn't really bother me. For all of the talk about how much better the TF screen is than the xoom, I didn't really see it. I really tried too, playing the same videos on both side by side. Yes if you were looking at it from an odd angle it didn't look as good, but a tablet is almost always pointing right at you from a foot or so away. The xoom also comes with 32 GB internal memory for the price, and the build quality felt substantially better than the TF. If you really wanted the dock for the TF, then I could see that swaying somebodies decision, but I personally have no interest in it.
Anyway that is my opinion on things after having owned all three. I don't mean to make your decision any harder or start a flame war in here.
