is it better than JP9 ?
- still lag when you type a ". , : " on swype keyboard ?
- do you have to switch on the mobile with GPS if you want to use GPS ?
- battery indicator ?
any other improvements ? Thanks.
Dude, I have Samsung Galaxy 3 I5801DDJG6. Can I upgrade it to Android 2.2, if yes can you please post a firmware. i need it.
thank you
I just made this:
I5800XXJPA fixed (datarfs.rfs inclued, no boot, no Sbl).
It will allow you to flash your phone without any risk, without changing your bootloader (if you have like me a branded phone), and from any version. It will wipe /data .

Android 2.2.1
okay..i know this might be getting ahead of ourselves, considering froyo roms are rolling out, but lets face it, chances of galaxy 3 getting a gingerbread update are slim, so this makes for a valid question; are we atleast getting a 2.2.1 that is JPU? i hear its rolling out for galaxy s..

hi
please tell me how to flash my i5801 by using ur files which u have given download link above....

We may need to be extra careful with the next firmwares that come out for the i5800.
Samsung is now using a restricted bootloader for the Galaxy Tab - so you can ONLY flash specially signed firmwares onto it. This means homebrew firmwares will not work with these new bootloaders.
Once you've upgraded the bootloader, you can't reflash older bootloaders, since the older ones are not signed.
It's sad to see Samsung going this route. I'm really hoping this firmware doesn't make it to our devices.

And what about JPB ? Does the version provided by Samfirware containt the datarfs.rfs file ?

Hey guys.
I bought a Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 Black
and I realized it could be updated with the latest android firmware (Currently 2.2.1 (Froyo)) and wanted to update to 2.3.4 Gingerbread.
When I want to update it through Kies (Latest version) it says "This version of the device cannot be updated"
PDA: KB3 / PHONE: KB3 / CSC: KB3 (CHE)
BTW Im from Chile
How can I update it? =/
You can get 2.3.4 GB from samfirmware site and flash it with odin tool.
Thats the problem.
I don't wanna do that way.
I want the official one.
I know they are official but, I heard some problems with 3G and other stuff... so i rather get official so If it has any problem I can complain and not lose warranty
I was wondering why I can't update it?
you must wait for an official release for your zone/yuor customer.
keep checking with KIES .
Keep in mind when you check your phone for an official update your phone must be unrooted
Hi
I have Samsung galaxy Apollo I5800 brought from Carphone warehouse U.K. last year. Its a Unlock phone. I want to downgrade to eclair (2.1 update1)
below is Phone info i want to restore it to based upon research i have done.
Firmware Version 2.1-Update 1
baseband version I5800XXJG3
kernel Version 2.6.29
[email protected] 32
build No
ECLAIR.XXJG7
PDA:JG7 /PHONE:JG3/CSC:JG5(XEU)
current firmware version: PDA:JG7 /PHONE:JG3/CSC:JG5(XEU)
latest firmware version: PDA:JG7 /PHONE:JG3/CSC:JG5(XEU)
trouble being i can only find the eclair.xxjg6. do anyone know where i can find xxjg7 as it is not on sammobile.com
As far as im aware, all the firmware on samfirmware is "official" release from samsung. flashing any eclair firmware should do the trick, just make sure its for your region. or as said just flash a froyo firmware with odin. kies isnt brilliant anyway. when i had eclair and before id modded my phone at all i searched for updates and it told me i was updated. despite froyo being out for a year!
problem with samfirmware is most of it does not work with kies. the ones that do are for france spain slovenia and italy
Just flash it via Odin.
Sent from my GT-I5800 using XDA
if i install a spanish kies working version will that work in UK as it is still a EU version?

look:
I've hear that the new 4.0.4 of Samsung running very smooth, better than any custom rom. Impressive! But it just only be released in some market.
I completely accept this ROM. still kastomny kernel, siyah type.
Can you tell me that does the new firmware have face unlock feature?
Hi,
Very great work for all rom but it's possible to have a update history and a better structure for the different rom, mod and add.

In your rom 4.0.4.5, i use the azerty keyboard but the keyboars write qwerty.

Smoothness
Hi, Serg,
Is this ROM smoother and quicker than stock ROM?
Last week I purchased P5100 and (WTF) I found that the UI really sucks in terms of speed and fps. It really tears down my eyes when scrolling the pages.
Since there's no video showing off all the advantages of your ROM I'm still in doubts whether to flash it or not
Thanks
I am currently implementing an alternate method of Rooting which I have found to be successful by means of Pre-Rooting the system.img file. I have previously released Pre-Rooted ROMs for the Galaxy S II and wanted to continue this development for the Galaxy S III.
Why use this Root Method? Well the main reasons are:
- You have a complete Odin Flashable ROM Package.
- No Insecure Kernels are used or required.
- You can flash these packages on Non-Rooted devices
- The Binary Flash Counter will NOT increase when flashing these ROM Packages.
- The Red Exclamation Mark will NOT appear at boot up.
- And finally, you only have to flash one file in Odin and you have a complete firmware including Root Permissions.
What Root Package is used in these ROMs?
- Busybox 1.20.2 (Newer ROMs)
- SuperSU 1.51 (Newer ROMs)
Previously released ROMs may have an older Busybox and SuperSU package installed.
Please Note: This Root Method does not include a Custom Recovery. This is for people who only require Root Permissions. If you do require a Custom Recovery, you will need to flash this yourself separately.

The ROMS you find here are already rooted. Flash with Odin and enjoy your rooted device!
Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk 2
Is there any advantage to those of us already rooted and with a red "!" on our screens to flash this rom? Secondly, after flashing this rom, would flashing custom recovery raise the counter and or bring back the "!"?
Thanks.
Just a quick question really...Getting my i9305 on friday, and wondering how much bloat orange put into this firmware?
Cheers
I git mine from t mobile & there's very little from them. The vast majority is the usual Samsung bloatware you even get on unlocked phones. I think as t mobile & orange are sort of the same, you shouldn't expect much bloatware from them specifically

It's practically unbranded as this software is for EE network so everything is non specific towards t-mobile and orange.

Backup before or after. My roms are stock so you are safe either way.
Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk 2
Backing up efs folder is always a good idea and with our device you can even backup without root.
So which root method is the safest? I have something called GT-I9305N
This is all stock, did one OTA upgrade when I got the phone yesterday.
Sweden actually has two different 4G/LTE variants depending on operator, one for Telenor/Tele2(2600/900 MHz) and one for Telia (2600/800 MHz), where only LTE frequencies differ. Mine is from Comviq.se(Tele2 with prepaid variant due to I didn't want to change my subscription terms to some thing new&bad)

So, does anyone have the stock rom for USA & AT&T? (Build # JRO03C.GC100UCALJG).
I'm trying to unroot my camera and get it back to stock, but after following all the standard unroot procedures, it still claimed to be custom.
I then tried a factory reset, and now it can't seem to connect to Wi-Fi anymore . Just keeps going downhill...

OK, I broke down and installed samsung Kies on my Windows box and was able to force it to reinstall the stock firmware, which seems to have everything working again (although Kies appears to be the grandaddy of all bloatware .
There doesn't appear to be a 4.1.2 update for USA/AT&T models yet (at least not one Kies knows about), but at least my camera now reports it is running the official firmware so it should be able to get the OTA update when it appears.
I have had one from Samsung for a while. Never used it much. Now I decide to take a look at this but mine is from Korea and says it is SK-Telecom LTE version.
Wondering if I can just flash radio + rom for AT&T and use it in the US.
List is obviously out of date as 4.1.2 has been available for the Galaxy Camera for some time now. Appreciate the OP taking effort to post however.

Is Galaxy Cym GC-110 the same (i bought it in germany)? Can i use the same roms and the same methods/files to get root access?
GC-110 is the Galaxy Cam 1 with a faster CPU and WIFI only. The other specs seem to be the same like gc-100.

EK-GC110 is Wi-Fi Only, after everything is sorted, fixed, ROMs actually get made, we should be compatible to flash over any ROM
