[Q] restoring i5800 to original spec - Galaxy 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I have Samsung galaxy Apollo I5800 brought from Carphone warehouse U.K. last year. Its a Unlock phone. I want to downgrade to eclair (2.1 update1)
below is Phone info i want to restore it to based upon research i have done.
Firmware Version 2.1-Update 1
baseband version I5800XXJG3
kernel Version 2.6.29
[email protected] 32
build No
ECLAIR.XXJG7
PDA:JG7 /PHONE:JG3/CSC:JG5(XEU)
current firmware version: PDA:JG7 /PHONE:JG3/CSC:JG5(XEU)
latest firmware version: PDA:JG7 /PHONE:JG3/CSC:JG5(XEU)
trouble being i can only find the eclair.xxjg6. do anyone know where i can find xxjg7 as it is not on sammobile.com

As far as im aware, all the firmware on samfirmware is "official" release from samsung. flashing any eclair firmware should do the trick, just make sure its for your region. or as said just flash a froyo firmware with odin. kies isnt brilliant anyway. when i had eclair and before id modded my phone at all i searched for updates and it told me i was updated. despite froyo being out for a year!

problem with samfirmware is most of it does not work with kies. the ones that do are for france spain slovenia and italy

Just flash it via Odin.

if i install a spanish kies working version will that work in UK as it is still a EU version?

[Q] Can't update Samsung Galaxy Mini

Hey guys.
I bought a Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 Black
and I realized it could be updated with the latest android firmware (Currently 2.2.1 (Froyo)) and wanted to update to 2.3.4 Gingerbread.
When I want to update it through Kies (Latest version) it says "This version of the device cannot be updated"
PDA: KB3 / PHONE: KB3 / CSC: KB3 (CHE)
BTW Im from Chile
How can I update it? =/
You can get 2.3.4 GB from samfirmware site and flash it with odin tool.
Thats the problem.
I don't wanna do that way.
I want the official one.
I know they are official but, I heard some problems with 3G and other stuff... so i rather get official so If it has any problem I can complain and not lose warranty
I was wondering why I can't update it?
you must wait for an official release for your zone/yuor customer.
keep checking with KIES .
Keep in mind when you check your phone for an official update your phone must be unrooted

XEU gingerbread for I9003?

I'm looking for an official Samsung I9003 gingerbread firmware with CSC of XEU?
For some reason, Kies thinks that my new I9003 is on the latest firmware because its on KB4....?
Kind regards
Dave

For east Europe use XXKPQ for vest Europe use XWKPG
Thanks - I'll have a look around for XWKPG.
Kind regards
Dave
Hold on - that seems to be an indian firmware, rather than a european one? is that OK for my device?
This is what I'm getting for the current version
PDA: I9003XWKB4
PHONE: 19003XXKB1
CSC: I9003OXXKB2
I thought OXX was portugal, so now I'm even more confused!

Assuming that there really is no gingerbread XEU firmware (which I'm having a hard job believing, this is a current model on sale in the stores right now) then that might be the only way to do it. But I really want to find an official XEU GB firmware for the I9003 if there is one out there.
Is there anyone else here who has an unlocked I9003 UK model? what firmware are you running?
Need XEU
I too have a GT-I9003 which I bought online last year. The original CSC was TGY (Hong Kong I think).
I flashed XXKPE/XXKPQ/XXKPU so I now have latest Gingerbread but I am stuck with a CSC of SER (Poland or Russia?).
Everything works fine. Kies sees it as latest. It's just annoying to be stuck with an eastern CSC.
Would also welcome any tips on how to get to CSC of XEU.
Rather wary of spoof apps.

[Q] Latest Galaxy S2 UK Generic Firmware

Hi folks, after reading these forums for the past few weeks I finally debranded my Vodafone SGS2. However, I have some questions.
1) What is the latest UK Generic firmware? I installed what I though was the latest UK XEU firmware, but the phone is now running Android 2.3.4 instead of the 2.3.5 version it had previously with the Vodafone firmware.
2) I was under the impression that after installing a stock generic firmware, I would be able to update OTA or with Kies. Is this wrong? I certainly cant get mine to update past 2.3.4
3) Can you please look at my details and see what i've done wrong?
Thanks in advance folks

Please help, I'm totally out of my depth here. I've read all the guides but cant find any definitive answers. All I want is an unbranded phone that is running the latest firmware and is upgradable via Kies.
I'd also like to know what the latest undranded UK S2 ROM is. I've just got one simfree from carphone warehouse and it's on 2.3.4. My friend has one on Orange network and he's on 2.3.5! Tried to update via KIES but says I'm on the latest version.
Thanks

Restore CSC code after flash with Odin

A few months ago I installed the official ICS firmware from Kazachstan on my Galaxy Tab 7.7 from The Netherlands using Odin. I did that because the Dutch ICS version was not released.
Since a few days the Dutch version is available through KIES. There is no reason for me to get it since it is exactly the same as the version that I have.
However, in order to install future firmware updates from KIES (possibly JB) I need to make sure that KIES recognizes that I have a Dutch CSC number. What need I do?
Can I just use Odin to install the official NL ICS firmware and will this include the NL ICS number so that KIES will recognize it as an official Dutch tablet again? Or need I first downgrade to Honeycomb with Odin and then update to ICS using KIES to restore the official NL CSC number again?

Well, i bought my phone here in the Philippines. Also i came across a thailand firmware while searching and it matches mine, but the link is not available anymore.
So if you can find/give a stock firmware for me it will really help me a lot.
p.s. i cant post links yet so google "s7500dxlb1" and view the one that says "S7500DXLB1 Android 2.3.6 Thailand Firmware Download" to see the link im talking about.

would this work on my phone?, the file says "S7500DXMG3" and the one installed in my phone stocked is version S7500DXLB1.
Ans
Don't be worry.
I live in Taiwan but I can flash even German version( I've tried before)
This firmware is the latest. I think your version is older one. Samsung released several version to make it stable, so the latest version is the stablest version and it will also add some new features.
Actually, all S7500 firmware is suitable but you have to notice that your area.
Because I found I flash German 2.3.6 stock firmware and I cannot have stock Chinese keyboard in it.
Flash your country version is the best choice.
p.s. if you flash from a custom rom, don't forget to back up data you want and do factory reset. it will make your S7500 work like a new phone
thanks a lot
