New Asus P535 ROM available on ASUS ftp site

I noticed today that there's a new rom available for the P535. I guess it's the Windows Mobile 6 rom we've been waiting for... Probably an english (WWE) version for thailand.

There's also a CHT (chinese traditional) rom there for hong kong and one for taiwan and also a file called P535-FW-V470.rar. I guess this is a new version of the phone firmware.
I'm half a world away from where I bought it (bought it in taiwan and P535 is not being sold in my country, so it could be difficult to find a service centre to fix it if I brick it). So I think I'll wait at least until it's "officially announced" on the ASUS website before I attempt the upgrade.

I installed the phone firmware today, and it seems to work fine on the OS I have installed (4.3.15 WWE_AU00). The phone version is now v4.7.0.
Tested that Wifi and GSM/GPRS works. It seems to be a bit faster at connecting to the GSM network now.

same thing my firmware is now v4.7.
But with the rom com 2 files. But is not the .nb0 extension. So i rename the big one (69mb). Try to perform the update, but it still block in the middle of reading file.
There is another files, autorun.exe, who install a package, and reboot your phone. After that the phone still block at the first screen.
no luck.
I had to reinstall an old rom. :-(

Ok, the probleme is :
The Rom is to big for the phone
rom : 70mb
phone : 64mb
so we have to wait.

But the phone has 256 MB ROM (64 MB i RAM memory).
It fits! I've allready checked!

I decided to try anyway (it's easier to make decisions after a few drinks...)
It was a failure at first, and then it was a success.
Now my phone is running the thai WM6 rom.

once update is done to WM6, would all the programs that work with WM5 still work with WM6, as in if i restore my back up file, would i get all my programs/applications back with full useability

I guess youre talking about spb backup.
ASUS says: Don't restore a wm5 backup.
I guess it will restore the wm5 registry and wm5 system files along with all other files and should mess up your device completely. (If it lets you restore at all)
The best way is to sync your contacts, appointments etc with outlook,
and backup your files manually,
then you can restore it by syncing with outlook and copying the files manually after you installed wm6.
Any software you have installed on your SD card will still be there after the upgrade, but there will be no links in the start menu.
Most WM5 software works on wm6, but some progs must be reinstalled, and a few programs just don't work on wm6.

WM 6.1
Works with radio 1.71.09.01 but I noticed some problems :
- Data Connection switch on when using GPS applications (???)
- Sometimes laggy in menues
- Bug on today screen when changing to landscape mode (sometimes it doesn't want to get on landscape or the image is cutted)
- The jog wheel doesn't work very well on WMP
- WMP Skin came back to the old one when changing commands...
Many programs included, Manilla2D, a nice black boot screen and others.

by CE OS number, you can find it by going to Start > Settings > System (tab) > About

install it a few minutes ago ,no problem found in the moment !
the only thing i found is that the keyboard is qwert in order in azert !
mean a wwe keyboard in a french rom !

I got this problem too. Crashing on launch and expect an error report. Also, the task bar disappeared when coming back on the today screen.
I 'd like to know if it's possible to have the WMP skin which come with the rom cause I can only have the basic WMP10 skin.

it's not possible to listen music in sleep mode.
With HTC Rom and Orange Rom it's possible with every player.
Do you have a solution (for all player) ?

I have rom update for my acer p300 (i have the phone for 4 day), update is: 2.002.03.FR.
The rom of my phone is: 1.004c.fr.
Launch the update for windows (i have tested in windows 7, xp and vista), the phone is connected, but i have this error" the software image file does not matched with your phone sofware".
I have tested phone power + camera button to launch update, but this error...
I have the file rom *.NB0, it's possible to flash from sd card?
I have cleaned the phone (power+ start), but the update not work.
if clean and press camera button for flash to sd, not work...
I have called Acer to help me, but, any idea for acer....
It's possible to help me?

3.Go to Device Manager on your computer
4.Have a look at a driver p300?
5.Install the driver manually from the Rover

i have solved my problem...
I have installed holder version of update rom.
During install (program/Acer update tooo/), i have deleted the holder rom and i have putted my update rom in the folder and named it of the name of the holder....
Installation software update work, and the update it's ok, work perfectly.
Finaly is the problem is the new update program, nos my phone, and no the update rom.

Install Windows 8 on Iconia Tab A510

Hi everybody,
I'm here for ask to you if is it possible to install Windows 8 (I have the RTM build 9200) on the Iconia Tab A510 ?
I now this tab had a nVidia Tegra ARM processor, and the 26th october, we will can get the Windows RT (RunTime) edition for ARM tablets, it will be possible with the RT edition if not with a standard x86 ?
I think the problem is there isn't a graphical interface to the Iconia Tab A510 motherboard, like a BIOS...
Maybe if we root the tablet, or get an Android recovery mode or anything.. no?

but it's a good way to recognize french people, as they always apologize for their english level..
so basically, and french-said : "il te chambre en te disant qu'au lieu de vouloir mettre windows 8 RT sur une A510, tu ferais mieux de la revendre et de t’acheter une W510 qui est LA tablette iconia vendue par acer avec windows 8. Tu t'épargneras surement des soucis et du temps perdu !"

C'est vrai avec le Acer A51x
Les Francais ont des Probléme avec l'anglais parce que la langue (Anglais) a une autre origine. Anglais a des origines germaniques et pour les Francais, c'est difficile apprendre cette Langue.
Ps : je vive en Allemagne donc je ne peux pas si bien parler/écrire le francais mais j ai eu neuf ans francais en l'ecole. Parce que on apprends l'allemand et le français au
l'ecole au Luxembourg

The RTM leak is only a x64/x64 CPU release, so it cannot run on a Tegra CPU.
The ARM version will not be released to the public, and will only be available on Windows RT tablets in October.
Don't expect to see it running on your Acer tablet anytime soon, it may happen one day, but for sure it will not be an easy task to accomplish.

Thanks for your french answers, yes I thought he was kidding, and yes RTM edition is a x64 version, it's possible with a release preview.
And for Windows 8 RT we will make an iso from an installed Windows 8 RT on a tablet. It's possible with a PC running Windows 7 with the Windows Preinstallation Environment tools (gimagex.exe...)
And if I ask this question it's because I've got the A510 Iconia Tab and I want to install Windows 8 / RT .. logic...

Also quick point: Windows RT will be released only to OEMs so you won't be able to actually get a license for it which means installing it would technically be illegal unless they Microsoft sold Windows RT licenses, although I believe the Windows 8 tablets will actually have hardware support in the licensing department

Only cracking it (As in providing serials) is the problem though right, anyway the only way I think you can accomplish this is if you find a leak or pull it from a tablet... idk

No I mean even if you extract it from a tablet you'll still likely have to circumvent a lot of protection to make it run.

Check group official group fonepad 8 indonesia (or other 'group official lounge... "). I had that peoblem and found the solution there. I couldnot post di url because im nrw here

Comment avez vous pu résoudre votre problème car apparemment je suis dans ce même cas et il me faudrait impérativement des fichiers dnx_fwr et accessoirement de dnx_osr pour exactement le FE380CG ?
J'ai du essayé flasher avec les fichiers de FE375CG mais cela ne marche pas.

How could you solve your problem because apparently I am in the same case and it would be imperative for me dnx_fwr files and incidentally dnx_osr for exactly the FE380CG? I had to try flashing with FE375CG files but it does not work.
