If classic version used via my android then its ok....but as of the last couple of days google aint allowing android devices to take safesearch off.
The option is there to turn it off...but it goes right back to the moderate option.
Been googling and everyone experiencing same thing.
Any ways around it...apart from browsing in the pants classic mode?
Coz in my opinion, if XDA dont know...then nobody does.
Matt

I'm looking for an app that will control on a per app basis if autorotate is on or not. I had a jail broken iPhone and was able to do this but no luck finding anything for Android.
Also I am looking for a solution where the screen doesn't turn off ever but simply dims to its lowest setting until touched again. Again something I had with apple.
Tasker may be able to do that for you.

that works great...ty.
One more, CyanogenMod has settings that has quiet hours that allow for manipulation of sound/led/screen based on time so it would turn off all when its night time automatically.
AutomateIt...... its free.

Timeriffic is great for that as well.

When I got the phone I thought there'd be more people in android development (came from the HTC Aria, guess I was spoiled ). I was really hoping to change to cyanogenmod, but there's not much happening there at the moment.
Anyway, it pisses me off when my phone tells me it's 'Saving battery' for me by turning off camera flash after batt</=15% and then not letting me use the camera after 5%. It's MY phone dammit, I don't want it telling me when I can use its features lol I'm not phone savvy at all, and I haven't figured out a way to turn it off...
I would also like a way to turn this off. It's annoying.

My son loves watching cartoon on YouTube on my phone, but he's only 19 months old and always exits YouTube accidentally.
Is there an app where I can lock the screen and all the buttons without the screen turning off?

Thanks. Could you please send me a PM if you find it
I might suggest kid mode. It has a preset selection of games and videos as well as painting and reading. It has a child lock feature, and it emails weekly updates on what my son has done and copies of his drawings. You can also authorize the apps on your phone to be used during it too, so if there is a certain game that he enjoys, it will be on his list. My son loves monkey preschool lunch box, but he's 3.

One thing that really turns me away from Google Music is that there's no option to keep the screen on. I use a car dock and I hate to unlock the screen to change the song. :banghead:
I'm using PowerAmp right now, but I want to use Google Music. I want to like it, I really do, if there's any way to fix this please let me know.

You can use an app like Tasker to set your timeout to "infinite" when you have Google Music on. That way, your screen will always stay on as long as Google Music is running and when you exit the app your timeout settings should return to the way they were.
If you are also charging the device while in the car dock another option would be go to settings display & gestures and check the 3rd box down stay awake then the screen will not turn off while on charge. Sorry if I'm stating something that you already new just wanted to throw it out there

Thanks! I've been looking into Tasker but I'm afraid of the reviews saying it's extremely hard to learn.

I tried this before but the thing is, I don't want my screen staying on all night if something happens or it wakes to the lock screen somehow. Isn't that bad for the screen? Burning the image or something?

It's not hard to learn at all if you're only looking at basic functionality (like...if this is open, do this, this, and this). It's really intuitive. If you just play with it for like 30 minutes you'll know enough to get yourself going.

I use my phone as my alarm clock on my night stand with the app called deskclock + which has a night mode so I never had to worry about damaging the screen.

I say go with Tasker. Especially if you're going with something as rudimentary as "when google music is playing, keep the screen on" you shouldn't have any issue creating this task.
Not too familiar with the ROMs or mods available for this device, but if there's an AOSP lockscreen mod, or a ROM that offers the AOSP lockscreen (maybe through a Tweaks app?), you should get music controls on the lockscreen, so you can skip/pause from the lockscreen, without unlocking
I've just purchased an SW2 and I'm so far pretty happy with it. My main reason for getting it is to use it with Runtastic while training. The screensaver/clock activates after a few secounds and this is kind of a pain. While training I just want to peak at the watch to read my heart rate, speed etc. I've tried to google and searched this forum and can't seem to find anything about this. Anyone know if this is at all possible?
Untill runtastic updates its app to support low power mode the only solution is a double click of the button. This will start the last app in use - in your case runtastic.
I also find it impractical, but it is up to runtastic.

I have same problem too, that is why uninstall Runtastic for now.

I think we're almost there. Togheter with for example Polar H7 I get reliable HR readings.
Only two things needs to be done her:
The first is the most important: Make the app say on the screen.
Second, I really would like to be able to build my own screen, so I can see HR, distance and time on the same page.
Tweet @runtastic and ask for low-power mode.

I would also like to see Runtastic support low power mode, definitely worth contacting them to ask.
