I do not take credit for anything in this kernel, all I did was look at the battery fix for the Desire Sense kernel and found the same variables in this kernel and applied the changes. I also changed some values to things that seemed more logical to me..
This is fix prevents the phone from discharging to 90% once it is fully charged. Now it discharges to 99% and goes back to 100%.
Features
* Based on latest Cyanogenmod_2.6.32 source
* HAVS
* Smartass Cpu freq gov.
* compiler optimizations and various performance tweaks

we need this implanted in a sense
I will second the first 2 replies. Can this be made for Sense ?
Well good news for y'all...the file that was edited can be copied and pasted into a Sense kernel. That's what I plan on doing later on tonight.. I seriously need a break, I been at this all weekend for the most part..all day yesterday... and now im at the point where if i have to type "make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE blablablbalbalhablah" again, im gonna flip.
Im running on more charge test right now to make sure that this is in fact 100% working, im not a dev, so i had to learn all this this weekend, and me being the paranoid person that I am, i always have a feeling that whatever i do doesnt work...but 20 mins after hitting 100% and me taking my phone off the charger, it only lost 4% in 30mins..that's a good sign.
thanks OP...
ill be flashing this on MIUI in a few.
I've been watching a thread, far too technical for me, on the nexus forums on battery calibration. Are these related?
I'm assuming that it will work on miui right?
I'd love to hear feedback, high hopes

Well you're gonna make sure that your battery is calibrated before flashing this. My battery was completely tanked after a full weekend of testing, my stats were so messed up..not even funny. With this kernel, you should calibrate the battery, get it to 100% and wipe stats and theoretically, this should be the last time you would have to do that.
Yes this works with MIUI, works with all AOSP roms.
Sweet. I'm about to charge my battery up and then throw this on the newest CM nightly. Thanks for the great work...I know a lot of us have been looking for a fix like this for a while.
To the op, many thanks for learning and taking the time to dev this for all of us. Will be watching this thread.

So is this a kernel I can just flash or what?

Hi.
I think that if you want so good batterylife as possible, it all depends on what ROM and kernel you are using together.
In my opinion Matr1x and GlaDOS 2.9 are probably the best, and you should try one of them, or why not try one for a week, then try the other and then deside.

I'm very surprised at this, given Pete's propensity to tweak the baked in kernel dramatically to improve both performance and battery life. I'm getting great results of both using his kernel.
Saying that, Steve Garon's plays very nicely with Pete's ROM. Either leave ondemand and deadline scheduler.
Matr1x is also very good. Same there, or use lazy for decent battery life.
As for what settings. It totally depends what you have going. If you got 25 different news widgets sucking data like there's no tomorrow, then yes, you;re going to see crappy battery life. Tell us what you;ve got going on and we'll try and help.
Well I just turned sync off most Google stuff aside from Gmail and twitter sync is off and other stuff I am not all sure what is and isn't off or on
I can almost sit back and watch my battery tick down ward
Is there like maybe an extended battery aside from the one in box can buy to assist n more juice

Sorry i havent posted my source yet. I got it going but there are a few compiling errors when i attempt to recompile it from my github. Ive got it flashed on my DS i also got it OC to 1.942ghz Max Stock Voltage. Its pretty stable. But i am noticing some lag here and there on default speeds (1ghz max 192mhz min). It could be any number of issues. Im going to attempt a few patches from linux site. Right now the kernel is on 2.6.35.10. I will update it to 2.6.35.14. I think i fixed the battery drain issue and foursquared works on my end. So overall im pleased.
That's amazing thanks so much

I would stick with what you have for a short while longer.
UCLA 2.3.6 update just hit, so lots of ROM's will go through wipe-only updates and new ROM's will be released.
SkyICS is the flashiest, coolest ROM IMO that still manages to be stable and quick.
RedSonja is a bit more blah (aside from cartoons) with the theme and tricks/gimmicks/addons, but looks like it was just rebuilt for UCLA 2.3.6 update. So if you have to flash something, that is the one I'd try right now.

I like the stability of SkyIce 7.4 Lots of eye candy. Right now using StokMod-2-UCLA3, hoping that ICS will be released soon. I Wipe about once a week just for the variety. Only Bricked the SkyRocket i727 once before the 30 days was up.
Wish I would have waited for the note.
Personally I prefer the Tmob roms. The ones here feel pretty much all the same to me too imo. There are some pretty interesting ones over there like Tuesday, Juggs and ParadoxII. Really nice themes and features too. You just need to flash our kernel or else your rotation is all outta wack. I find there is more action over there. Although the roms we do have might be less original they are pretty rock solid.(props to our devs) The only downside to the Tmob is you lose the LTE icon (still getting the speeds just no icon changing) which I couldnt care less
Hello all!
As promised, here is the first release of Lightning Zap tweaks for the Blaze 4G from Team Fah-Q (formerly known as Team Kick Ass)!
DISCLAIMER:
I am NOT responsible for anything YOU do that causes damage to your device. Follow the instructions to TEE and there won't be any problems.
This version is ONLY for Gingerbread ROMs and a GB kernel that supports init.d scripts. How do you know if your kernel supports init.d scripts? There are a number of ways to check, but the best way is to ask the developer of that kernel. You can also check in the ROMofCHOICE.zip by navigating to /system/etc/init.d. If the original .zip of your ROM has an init.d folder with scripts in it, then you are good to go.
What is Lightning Zap?
Lightning Zap is a set of tweaks that I have written and compiled to make the Blaze 4G Lightning fast, super smooth, and contain excellent battery life!
What's included in Lightning Zap Blaze Basic:
Battery tweaks for awesome battery life
Governor tweaks for amazing speed and performance without sacrificing battery life
Kernel tweaks
Memory and Ram tweaks
Cleaner tweaks
Build.prop tweaks
Internet speed tweaks
and MORE!
Install instructions:
Make a full nandroid backup and then backup your data with titanium or something alike
***Download link is at the bottom of this post***
Download Lightning Zap! Blaze Basic v1.zip to pc (Can be downloaded to sdcard also)
Place Lightning Zap! Blaze Basic v1.zip on sdcard

well, take it for what you will, but I am on dknight7 at 9 hours uptime with minimal usage and the battery is at 98%. So with that said, flash at your own risk, but I am pretty sure my tweaks are unmatched...lol (no offense Eril... you are still my superstar...lol)

Do not think this works on STOCK - rooted/w cwm (looking at you update script and the actual files in the zip).
There isnt suporrt for init.d style startup scripts in stock-rooted anywhere that I could find, So your sysctl.conf will work but all of the init.d scripts will be ignored.
I'm assuming dknight7 has this support? If it doesnt then its not doing anything but the sysctl.conf tweaks on that either.
Also some of your sysctl settings have been shown to slow the phone down over several days and increase the number of reboots needed.
One specifically I saw in 03systweak:
echo 50 > /proc/sys/vm/vfs_cache_pressure;
This does speed up things a great deal on the short term. However it gives you a max of 2-3 days before you have to reboot your phone as it slowly begins to lag it down. A setting of 1 is less than a day, a setting of 100(default) gives you weeks without need of reboot. So people need to be notified that these tweaks are not stable, and in order to keep the improvements these tweaks provide, and you will find yourself rebooting more often.
It has also been shown that most of these tweaks do in fact use more battery. There is no magic performance improment without the use of more power on android in many cases. There are some phones where the initial config is not optimal and these tweaks would show a great improvment. The blaze 4g phones on the other hand, are so fast even at stock, and get such great battery life, I dont see why such a thing would even be applicable for them.

Stock Rom - Rooted Kernel
Thomas, I'm on the stock rom (latest update) with the rooted Kernel. Will that combo work or should I look for a different kernel to install? I don't want to switch roms when I expect that ICS should be coming out within a month or two and the phone is generally running reasonably well as is. Thanks in advance.
This is the kernel that I'm using btw... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591598
