If you read down under the comments section, there was one reviewer that did buy one for the N1. Bottom line, not all the buttons work, based off 2.1.

[THINK TANK] I have Quite the IDEA! Headphone adapter button controls.

Most of us g1 owners have the stock headphone adapter with the long (1ft) cord and the shiny silver button w/mic in line.
I got the following idea after using my iPod Touch with the headphones with the in-line play/pause/skip/volume controls:
Mapping the shiny silver button mentioned above to play/pause!
We CAN make this happen. If there is no interest, I'll just have to stick to Cyanogen's volume-skip, and play-pause manually in the app.
Mods, AFAIK the Rom Dev section is still OK for think tanks, please move it if I'm wrong. PLEASE!!!!
Thanks all. I hope this follows through and that a lot of people are interested. Geniusdog and Meltus too...
If you press the sliver button it pauses, press it again and it plays. Double press quickly to skip the songs. As far as I know the only thing not supported is returning to the previous song.
Note: I haven't used them since stock but this was the functionality they gave.
I don't get what you want, I dont have the stock ones(not even sure if i have em) but the ones i have(from another phone) will play/pause for me and has the volume slider.
It has worked just like you want at least since Android 1.1 on my G1.

[Q] Speakers ... or speaker ?! :P

Hi gurus,
my N5 pumps quite a low volume from the speaker... In particular, looking at the screen, the bottom left grill gives a reasonable output while the right... really low volume. I was thinking about RMA when googling, I found an article which states that:
- there's no left and right speaker on N5, just one speaker
- left grill is for the speaker, while right one is for the microphone.
If so, then my N5 is absolutely "normal". Could anyone confirm that the left grill returns significantly a louder sound ?
Thanks in advance
Just tried what you describe same result my left speaker plays louder

there's only 1 speaker.
Same as the G2.... one speaker only.

So... I assume that different sound volume from the two grids should be considered normal... not a defect.

There is only 1 speaker. Any sound you're perceiving from the other grill is purely leaked sound.
At this point, I thought everyone knew this. Mostly all phones on the market work this way: The G2, the iPhone line, etc...HTC One is one of the only phones that have multiple speakers.

Anyone know of any other earphones with 3 button function?

The earphones that come with the s6 just aren't cutting it for me. They wont stay in my ear and they feel awkward anyways.
I was thinking to try out the apple earbuds since they have 3 buttons but i'm not sure if they would work or not. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
Apple's won't work. If it has 3 buttons and claims to be for the iPhone, then they won't work properly.
Xiaomi Pistons work great on my S6. Take a peek at the thread for some audiophiles' take on the audio quality too

Thanks, i checked these out earlier and they're top on my list right now, but i'm concerned about how sharp the edges look. They look like they would hurt after being in my ear after a while. Do you experience this with em?
Also do all the functions work? Play/pause, skip/prev track, answer/end call and even long pressing the call button to start google now? Thanks

I have them. Felt the metal sides being too sharp. Slowly I adjusted how I orientate it into my ear and it seems to be okay now in this position.

Tbh I don't know how the third button is supposed to work. I use power amp. The button stops playing the song if it is currently being played. Does not resume if I press it again though.
Volume up and down works fine (I don't have an s6 btw. Using s4)

Thanks. I'm just gonna roll the dice. Looks like xiaomi just came out with version 3 of these so i'm gonna order em. Even if the buttons don't work they seem like solid earphones for the price
The beveled edges do seem sharp at first, but I also found that they sit just right in the little cup of my ear whereas other earbuds (for example the a-Jays One that I used before) would kind of slip out. For what it's worth, I've done transcontinental and transatlantic flights with my Pistons in basically nonstop with minimal ear fatigue. I am Chinese though, so maybe they've designed it specifically for earholes like mine?
As for the button controls, all three work perfectly on my S6. Play/Pause for the center button, volume up and volume down natively.
They're probably not the single most amazing set of earbuds, and make sure to buy from the recommended retailers on the Head-Fi thread because apparently knockoffs are out there. But performance-to-price ratio has been spot on for me with respect to my Pistons.
Let me know if you have any other questions. I promise I'll see them sooner this time
Try the Bose ones - they have a specific Samsung model:

Earphones being louder on one side than the other.

Hi, I recently got my A7 and this one thing is bothering me since day one. For some reason my right earpiece is louder than my left one. I am not using the included headset but rather Apple Earpods as they have a better bass, which is kind of important to me. I checked Adapt Sound before any of you ask, I have the default profile enabled. Is there a way to make both the earpieces be on the same lound level? Thanks
Interesting. I also seem to have the same problem. I wanted to have my left ear checked by a doctor for this .
No idea why this is the case though.

yeah I had the same feeling until I realised that if I put my left earpiece to my right ear it was the same level as if it were in the left ear.
Also for me this only happens when I have in-ear heaphones, over-the-ear one's sound normal

Is stereo sound possible?

I was wondering... is RN7P able to output stereo sound? If you go to CIT (settings->my device->all specs and tap kernel version 5 times) and choose test number 12 ( play music by receiver), you can hear music coming from... well the receiver (earpiece). It is loud enough, although not as loud as a main speaker, to hear it at normal volume levels. So does anyone have any idea/experience about the possibility of enabling stereo sound with a mod or something? My last phone did have stereo sound, and the sound from the earpiece was a little quieter than the main speaker, just like in this case.

Hi,
I copy here a question posted on another post (sorry, i'm quite busy, can type a new question here)
-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Hi,
I just installed the global rom miui_VIOLETINGlobal_V10.2.8.0.PFHINXM_997265e49a_9 .0.zip on my brand new RN7PRO china 6/128. No problem for the installation but, I found out that only the right speaker is working under all condition. I tried with MP3, Games, youtube, and other audio files.
Now, I don't know if depend on the rom installed or is a device that is expecting to work like this.
Anyone can tell me if both or only one speaker is working??
The phone has only one main speaker (on the bottom side, to the right of the usb port when you are looking at the screen), if that i what you mean.

Thanks, mate!!!!
that's was exactly what I was looking for! :cyclops:
I will look into your question and see if I found something.
Thanks, again
PS: So, the other "holes" that look like a speaker on the left side of the USB looking the screen...what is it?? very big microphone??
The holes are there for aesthetic reason, to preserve the symmetry of the device.

Yes, the holes on the left side is for the microphone.
Like other said, they design it symmetrically for aesthetic reason.
