I just have a quick question, the touch buttons on the bottom of the phone seem to go dark really fast it seems. Is there any way to make them stay on longer?
Thanks for any help in advance
I agree. I don't see settings for it. Hopefully a program comes out to change the timeout.

hey try the app from market called sms popup. it got strong vibrate like earthquake. and u can customize the vibration also.
How strong do you want it and what its your motivation / desire for stronger vibes? Personally it would be inappropriate for me to have a stronger vibration in my pocket....LOL
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
lol i can barely feel it when i have it in my pocket. Just stronger so its easier to feel and obv not so strong my leg shakes every time lol
__
Thanks will try that app
Personally, I like it when it vibrates so hard, it pops out of my pocket and smashes on the floor...
but that's me.
It is a fairly weak vibrate, I would be interested if I could tweak it a little.
At work I need chainsaw trousers but they are seriously thick, for obvious reasons, but I can't feel it.

Handcent sms
handcent-sms gives same alert functionality as sms popup and a cool interface for sms
I agree, x10 got a very weak vibration.
I hope there's a way to tweak it
Does anyone know of an app or a setting to control the touch button lights at the bottom of the screen?
i tried searching for a solution but found none.
I like reading off of the kindle app at night and with 22% brightness and white text on a black background, the result is a perfect experience -- except for the four blinding leds every time I turn the page...
This might also be helpful for those with issues during streaming video (i.e. Netflix).
I apologize in advance if this has been dealt with/is in the wrong place.

That is a very good question and I have the same problem while reading on my phone. I'm going to try and do some research to see if I can come up with a solution.
Try this. I don't know if it works or not yet

lol!! thats great.
Bump for a good question
the light buttons are bright as fkc at night. +1 good question.. probably saves battery too if someone can dev this app.
https://market.android.com/details?id=neldar.bln.control.free
Install BLN control and check Activate Notifications. The lights will only stay on for a few seconds after you touch the screen/buttons.
Thanks for trying guys. I want to completely disable those bad boys. I know where they are. Don't need a searchlight!
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Well you can't disable them. Not even the stock roms let you do that, the best bet is for them to only blink, which is they turn on when you're using them.
Some black tape works lol
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA Premium App
Would the touchscreen still work with black/electrical tape? That makes me wonder, but I am lazy and have none on hand to test out.

Does anybody know the haptic feedback vibration levels in WIND's Froyo OS? I have rooted my LG G2X and installed Cyanogenmod 7, and I've been endlessly, as well as hopelessly, trying to discover and match the vibration levels with WIND's.
I really like the " short and quick feeling" when I press on the capacitive buttons on WIND's FROYO OS, compared to Cyanogenmod's laggy, sluggish response when I press on them.
I was able to compare them as my mom and I have the same phones, with her phone not being rooted, and I can seriously say that the overall feeling when pressing the back button or typing on the keyboard is much, much nicer (unless it's just me).
THANKS
Since you are on cm7, go to settings, Cyanogenmod settings, Input, Haptic feedback tweaks, and then tap on set down pattern. After that you can adjust your settings to the way you want, I have 0 5 7 19. I haven't been on froyo since april so I don't remember how that froyo haptic feedback feels like. You can also always test the way it feels before you apply. Make sure to tell me what your settings u changed it too.
Thanks, I changed the values to the ones you gave me. However, it still doesn't feel the same, I just compared it to my mom's phone again. xD Is this just a problem with the ROM? Because in stock ROMs like Weapon G2X or XboarderMod it has the same nice, quick feeling as WIND's Froyo, but there is no option to tweak the haptic feedback vibrations. THANKS THO!

Well since you have your Mom's phone next to you maybe you can try different values until u finally match the one and then post your findings? I don't have another g2x that i can compare it to.
I agree I hate the super vibrations shouldn't feel like that IMO.

I thought I was the only one that didn't like that, what value levels do you use?
Try setting to hardware defaults perhaps?
Yeup, I don't like it I think I remember somewhere (otherwise I must have dreamt reading it) that it is just Cyanogenmod's laggy feedback, or something like that. And I've tried to match it soo many times. In CM7, adding more levels ("steps in the sequence") make it even worse as you can actually feel each separate vibration.

The defaults are so bad IMO. I can feel this long vibration on my entire phone every time I press the back button or type on the keyboard.

Not sure why bit all of a sudden yesterday (not sure if it was after a reboot or not) but the haptic feedback is very weak now almost perfect a whole bunch better and close to stock feel now. When I type it is actually nice lol, and my friends don't make fun if the "buzz". But ya try it out the first one is the one I changed press the minus button twice and then change it to the number that I have selected if you would like. Just so people know I can not seem to get back to the old feel or any different from what it feels like now, just a heads up... I don't want to flash the latest nightly cause I'm so happy with the haptic feedback lol.

Thanks for that! I always wondered why the haptic was so different on cyanogenmod. Feels great now.

I shoulda mentioned this in my first post, it says u need to reboot after applying so that's why it changed all of a sudden for u.

I just don't remember doing the reboot, and I haven't had a reboot since October, or at least I thought lol. Either way I'm glad its all good now.

Yeah never said u had a reboot and thats awesome u never had one since ocotober, i had maybe 4 reboots since i got it in april and its probably due to my own problem not the phone. Maybe you turned it off?

Don't you believe the vibration strength of the haptic feedback is too low?
Especially when typing...
Strenght is set to maximum in system settings and enabled in keyboard, still it's too weak.
G.
Its OK to me.. I don't need it to be forceful like a notification

yes the vibration is very weak but meh as long as it works i guess, for games that support it i hardly feel anything.
as regards me, it's very weak when typing

Use a different keyboard to fix that.. Im using Slideit...

For some reason, the haptic feedback is extremely weak. I don't remember it being like this. Set to the highest setting, I can barely feel anything when I'm typing, BUT I can sure hear the buzz!!
Seems to be a bug in one of the FW updates. Did anyone else notice the change in Haptic Feedback from pretty good to very weak? Thanks so much.
Try thumb keyboard. It's insane how strong the haptic feedback can be made to.

Thanks. But I'm just wondering if anyone else noticed a drastic decrease in the keyboard haptic feedback and when? I think it happened right after the JB update. Anyone?
yes, I bel;ieve that on ICS the vibration was a lot stronger
