If you got the TnT firmware update, I have favor to ask - G Tablet General

I don't know how they are sending these down, but I am assuming that it's an update.zip file that they would run via recovery. If so, it's possible that the update.zip is not getting deleted, at least that's how it works with the zPad updates.
If any of you happen to get this update, can you check for that file and, if you have it, upload it somewhere? This is going to be the foundation for TnT Lite 2.00 given that it has a lot of bug fixes.
Thanks in advance!

URL for full/comprehensive OTA RC33

I haven't seen this posted anywhere and my G1 (at RC29 with renamed certs file) has finally tried to download the new RC33 OTA (which I'm guessing includes RC30 + RC33 at the very least).
Here is the URL of the file my phone tried downloading (46MB in size):
https://android.clients.google.com/updates/signed-kila-ota-126986.f6469a1e.zip
Just in case anyone needs it or wants it for any reason.
Thank you =]
Really? I searched but didn't find *this* image.
The link that was posted a bunch of times was the one for the "signed-PLAT-RC33-from-RC30.f06aa9b3.zip" (18.9MB) file.. i.e. the one that is an incremental upgrade from RC30 to RC33, right?
The link I posted is (I think) for a *full* update (the reason why it's quite a big bigger in size since it includes the RC29 -> RC30 changes, etc.)
I will agree that there's perhaps not much use for this particular update (with folks using JF's updates which are cummulative) but I hadn't seen it posted so just in case someone wanted to update from a legit RC29 (or earlier?) directly to RC33 (and lose root.. hah!) using the official OTA image, well, here it is.

Or if someone wanted to use JF's build environment to make their own update.
Does anyone read stickys any more.
Rc33 has been hacked for a few days now.
Thanks for the attempt.

can you post all the info from about phone software versions?
pri?

software 1.47.651.1
prl 60067
pri 1.34_003
my Wifi signal seems much stronger...not sure of any other changes.
some widgets needed to be reloaded, but all is well now.
So they didn't do anything worthwhile like lift fps cap?
Did it break root?
hopefully this does not break root.
Ill be the test dummy....backing everything up now. will let you guys know how it works out in about 15 minutes
don't know if it broke root or not, i went back to stock a week ago
It breaks unrevoked. I haven't tested for frame rate, but it does get rid of that "grounding" issue. Also system is much more responsive. before when I tried to add a widget it took a good 5-10 seconds for it to appear on screen, now it's instantaneous. Also opening up manage applications is a good 30 seconds faster than it was for me before and it can scroll through the list much faster. Downloading fps2d now. Multitouch visualizer 2 still shows a bit of a lag, so I can't notice much of a difference there than from before.
Edit: Yes 30fps cap still there.
there is a recovery.img included in the firmware.zip within the package that will likely overwrite any custom recovery you've installed already.
I'd be interested in if this breaks nand rooting given that there is a raido update included as well. Anyone given this a look yet?

So does running the update break Toast's root? I have been holding off on getting the update.
Don't ever push an OTA update from Sprint if you want to keep root. There's a chance it's going to break it everytime.
Let the XDA mages cast improved .zip on the update so you can flash it from recovery.
Or wait until one of the ROM devs integrates the fixes into their ROMs and flash those. I know TrevE is already putting them into DamageControl.
well my first post. All other post have been helpful. For the update it does give much better connection on 4g. Was able to download rate near 5Mb. Prev. I was able to download around 3.2 - 3.5

Does it do anything for 3G?
So.....is anyone going to drop the radio .zip?
Sounds like some good stuff.
Cant wait for the Devs to start integrating these improvements into their ROMS!
Sorry i dont have any info on 3g before so i dont know but due to weather now could not trust current result but i get less on download then upload. Both less then half .
3G is the same crap it was before the update... not worth the flash.
well you will lose recovery. im about to finish the update.zip for everything except radio. i recommend you wait for me or someone to put out an update.zip before flashing.
Calkulin already released an update for everything except the radio.

[Q] a bunch of questions? (excited but really scared)

hi,
I have a ton of questions and have been reading alot on xda. but the more that I read the more questions that I have. i DO NOT WANT TO BRICK THIS THING! which is why i writing to you before even attempting this. 1.When I install tnt lite, can I simply jump to the latest edition or do i need no install each earlier version and then keep upgrading?
2.Do I need to root the gtablet before I even start installing roms? 3.Do I need that clockwork mod thingy mijigy to install? 4.when you guys talk about bringing a file to the foot of the folder or sdcard (what the heck do you mean?) 5. tnt lite or vegan same install process?
I have this idea in my head that all i have to do to install a rom is to download it to my normal computer extract, transfer to the device, turn off device, and turn on while pressing volume + at the same time and then it does everything automatically. Am I correct? if I do this will I brick it!
Q's may seem dumb but I'm just a broke med student who needs this for school! I don't have $$$ to spend on a ipad and i need something with longevity!
thanks in advance
oh and to that Ehunyadi guy , I'm a big fan of your reviews on youtube and I'am buying a gtablet primarily because I have seen your videos.!
later! and thanks again
1. TnT Lite. Just install 2.4.0 - it's a "base image", which means you can layer it right over any build, including stock.
2. All the mods are pre-rooted. You just flash using the same recovery tool that VS uses for their own updates.
3. It's not required for TnT Lite, but I would recommend it for the VEGAn build. The latter is more of a beta so we assume that anyone using it has clockworkmod already.
4. That's only if you use standard recovery. If you use clockworkmod, then you don't have to do any of that.
5. Slightly different, as the TnT Lite rar file has the update.zip and recovery folders in the rar (again, it assumes you have standard recovery). The VEGAn zip in an update.zip itself and it assumes that you are going to use clockworkmod.
I built out TnT Lite and I'm one of the modders for the VEGAn build. My recommendation is to use TnT Lite first as it's a bit more stable, and then maybe look at the VEGAn build when you want something snappier but a little less stable.
thank you so much, well I'll try to install the clockworkmod and then tnt lite 2.4.0 thanks mr. roebeet!
p.s. i didn't thank you earlier , sorry for that!
by choosing vegan mod? Is there a greater chance of avoiding the boot loops?

Request for Devs...

I have a tablet I have kept stock and which is running Update 3991.
I have not been able to get any of the present "Enhancement Updates" to work -- presumably because 3991 already has some of the enhancement package already in it. In fact, a couple of the efforts necessitated re-flashing the tablet.
QUESTION: Could someone take one of the simple enhancement files (I use the 3452 version that only has gapps and enhancements) and strip out the enhancements to make a "Gapps Only" update.
I have seen a couple of other persons say they would like a Gapps-on package
so I am sure there are more out there.
Or if this already exists somewhere, please point me to it??!!

Like this? http://goo-inside.me/google-apps/
Not sure if they play with stock or not offhand, but I think they do.
Moved to general.
coldfirex,
I don't see an entry to Viewsonic or G-Tablet. Am I missing something?

I don't think anyone's made an enhancement pack for 3991, other than TNT Lite 5.0.0. And that's not really an enchancement pack, it's more of a firmware alternation.
You definitely do NOT want to use the old pack on 3991 - reason being is that some libs will be downleveled and if the kernel is replaced, your device may not even boot. I'm actually hoping that someone would take this on for the masses, as I'm pretty pegged with all the other stuff I'm doing. Essentialy, they could use TnT Lite 5.0.0 as a template and just remove the stuff I replace and retain the TnT apps that I remove.
Ooooooops, you nailed me.
I went to stock and upgraded all the way to 3991. I thought I would try the 3452v1 vanilla Enhancement to see if I could get gapps ---- and yes, it resulted in another
nvflash session!!!!
I do not have the capability of doing it (a Gapps only Enhancement), but maybe someone else with more expertise
will have a go at it.

[FOTA][UNTESTED][DOWNLOAD] SM-T337A Latest Update File

Note: None of these files have been tested mainly because I want to keep root on my device. If someone (preferably a recognized developer) can confirm that you can still root the device on this update, I will edit the thread to appear safe to novice/semi-inexperienced users. Because I haven't tested these files, I'm gonna assume its a January security patch.
Here I have pulled the latest FOTA update for the SM-T337A. I know right, I thought this device would never get another update, but it did! Down below I have uploaded the original, untouched .CFG update file and my own compiled .ZIP update file. Not that any of them are different, but if one fails to flash, there's the other file to try.
New PDA Version: T337AUCU2BOH5
New CSC Version: T337AATT2BOH5
Bootloader Version: Bootloader V2 (So you can downgrade back to the BOH4 firmware)
Please feel free to ask any questions or report any problems down below.
EDIT: I will begin creating Odin packages for this update and release them in place of the zip files if/when they are completed.
--Download Links--
Original .CFG File: https://mega.nz/#!r940XJLB!OUne16ltPYkOqfNBbzA5W08f8LwvYT_os--agbGzFq4
Compiled .ZIP File: https://mega.nz/#!fkoW0JKB!aR2uZYlthtmW7Us0uBmP6-BZrmhKiJrRaVrbdkq-bx8
Cheers!
Thank you very much as always @KingOfTheNet , is there any chance you can make an Odin firmware file too, or would that require you taking the update (which I understand very much why you wouldn't want to, without knowing for sure)?
Also I shall mirror the update.zip file on AFH if you'd like (it doesn't accept cfg files)

I'm 99% sure it's just a January security patch, so I'm not sure if it would be worth making an Odin file for it. If AT&T where to release a Marshmallow or Nougat update (which we all know isn't gonna happen) then I would make one for that. Making the Odin file for the Lollipop firmware took me like 4 months
Also feel free to mirror the file(s) to AFH, please be sure to credit me though, assuming they flash without issues. I didn't test it on mine because I want to keep root until I can verify that it can still be achieved on this new update. I'm just surprised AT&T is still updating this thing.
Cheers!
Do you have patch notes, what was fixed?
Thanks.

I would imagine AT&T or Samsung would release them somewhere on their website. In my opinion, security updates are made to keep your device guarded against new root methods and viruses, which is exactly why I didn't flash the update myself, to keep root.
