[Q] Android on HTC Maple - Dash 3G, Snap ROM Development

Good day, I
just want to know a little bit about this process of porting Android onto Windows Mobile phones. I am completely new here. Why does it have to be OMAP850 devices that work? I dont quite understand why porting to Android works for HTC Excalibur but does not work on the HTC Maple when the Excalibur is an older phone. Is there anyone who can either point me to where i can get some more detailed reading into it or explain to me because i wish to replace Windows Mobile on my HTC Maple with Android.
Thanking you in advance for any assistance,
Regards,

Hi everyone I'm new here and know quite little about phones.
My question is how do I install the latest build of Windows Mobile on my Samsung Omnia II?
Also should I be worried of damaging my device? ie. Bricked Screen
Thanks.
Hi, Welcome to the forum, unfortunately this site is dedicated to HTC devices so you will not find many answers here
You may want to try modaco.com or maybe other xda members might know a site that will be able to help you

Hi. I am a completel newbie in here, I apologize upfront

Heloo everyone. I just registered here at these forums because I have just got a gift from a friend. I got a brand new HTC Touch Pro that is made for Sprint. It doesnt have a sim-card which is another thing that I would like to discuss, but for now, I would like to get some help on upgrading my OS to something else. It has windows 6.1 I believe, or 6.0, I am not sure, but its not very stable.
I would like to know if any one can give me the most simple way to update to windows 6.5 or any other OS you might think is better than windows mobile 6 or 6.1.
I already read about roms, and downloading them, but all i get is links to other websites and the files that I am supposed to download are confusing me because they said its for the touch diamond, but i have a touch pro.
If any one can help me with this issue I would greatly appreciate it.
I apologize in advance for my noobiness and I appreciate any help in advnace.
Thank you and happy new year all.

Read, Search, Respect and Enjoy!
I'm using US Cellular. Is that CMDA? And How do I back up my contacts since US Cellular doesn't have Sim Cards
Your Rhodium version is CDMA so this is your section:

Okay, thank you very much for your help. Once I do that, what will I be allowed to do with my device?
If it's any help there is an official 6.5 rom available from HTC. I've upgraded my phone and it was a worthwhile exercise.
I'm now looking into "upgrading" my old phone (i780). A lot of reading to be done!

[Q] HTC Desire S Help!

Hi everybody, i'm new to all of the Android phones and rooting but i have experience in Jailbreaking iPhones so im not new to hacking phones.
I'm getting very confused about a lot of things to be honest, and wonderd if anyone could help me.
What is the point in rooting?
Do i need to take the "S" of my HTC Desire to be able to root it? If so how do i go about this?
Next, is how do i go about rooting my Desire S?
This is all confusing compared to the iPhone, any help/Tutorials will be very appreciated.
Sorry if this has already been posted or if anything similar has been posted.
Please check the forums for your device.
Welcome to XDA. My advice would be to read all the stickies in your devices forum. Android is a lot more complex then the IOS your used to. Root is giving it admin access.
The search plugin us a powerful tool. Do a Google search for Xda search plugin and you will fund it. Sorry am mobile or I would link you.

[Completed] [Q] HTC HD7 help please!

Alright so, here is what I am trying to do. I want to get the android OS on my HTC HD7. I just broke my phone (which was android) and had to revert to my old phone because I am a bit tight on money. Now I have seen forums where people have be able to load android onto a windows phone, like the HTC HD2 and I have also found a forum with all of the stuff for a HTC HD7. Now I realize you need ROMs and a few other things. I dont really know how to load all of the stuff on my phone or anything, the place I found with all of the information had no instructions it just said here is the stuff for it, have fun. I am not really a big fan of the Windows OS on phones, and would prefer Android any help please?
